Remember when I raved about this absolutely incredible, raw honey?

For as long as I can remember, my family has vacationed on the lake in Northern Michigan every summer. It might just be my most favorite place in the entire world.

Can you blame me?

One of our traditions is visiting American Spoon and tasting all of their wonderful preserves, dried fruits and other goodies.

Honestly, I have never had better dried cherries or blueberry preserves anywhere, ever. They also have amazing recipes for each product listed on their website!

Some of my favorites include:

Pumpkin Butter (I was eating this way, way before I ever knew pumpkin butter was cool. I’m talking like, 10 years ago.)

Blueberry Lime Preserves

Dried Cherries (my absolute FAVORITE!!)

Cherry Peach Salsa

Raw Honey

That is just a start. See, I have tried every product because if you have ever been to American Spoon, you will know they have samples of absolutely everything. Going there is such a treat.

They have beautiful gift sets and packages that make excellent Holiday gifts – whether it is for a family member, a co-worker, a business, or just yourself. I hope you all can start your Christmas shopping a little early at American Spoon.

Any Michigan natives or vacationers out there? I would love to chat and reminisce about my time in Boyne City, Petosky, Harbor Springs and surrounding areas. Drop me a line!

The very generous people at American Spoon are giving away a Favorite Preserves package to one lucky reader!!

This set includes:

A selection of three 9.5-oz jars of the original American Spoon Preserves we are famous for, packed in an American Spoon Gift Box. Flavors include: Succulent chunky Red Haven Peach, luscious Early Glow Strawberry, and classic Sour (Montmorency) Cherry.

Visit American Spoon and leave a comment telling me which product you would like to try the most. They also have Gelato. :)

I would love to try American Spoon’s pumpkin butter. I am a HUGE fan of northern Michigan. We went there every summer when I was little, and we still go every summer many times. We were in Traverse City once this summer, and Petoskey, and Muskegon. It’s such beautiful country!

My family has a magical place on Elk Lake called Rex Terrace, outside of Traverse City. It has been in my family for over 100 years. I have never lived in Michigan but I have been at Rex every summer of my life! I love American Spoon and all their products. A handful of their dried cherries really zings up a salad..yum!

Reply

Rebecca Martin November 5, 2009 at 9:56 am

No question: the creamed raw honey.

Michigan native here :) I’m from Kalamazoo, went to college in Holland (10 min. from Lake Michigan… so nice!) and honeymooned up on Mackinac Island + Munising so you know I’ve got pride for MI’s beauty :-D I’ve never been up to Petosky (driven by it though, and it looks gorgeous) but I love Traverse City in the fall… the colors just take your breath away. And there is a shop there with super yummy dried cherries, cherry pasta sauce and cherry salsa as well… I think it’s called Cherry Republic? Anyway, just makes me happy reading about MI beauty!

The Maple Cream sounds super yummy, but I’m a huge fruit salsa fan so I’d have to go with cherry peach salsa.

Reply

Abby November 5, 2009 at 10:19 am

I’m not big on preserves, so don’t worry about entering me in the giveaway, but I am from Michigan so I had to comment!

However, I’ve never been Petosky or Harbor Springs!

Those dried tart cherries sound awesome! I love trying different flavors of honey. There is a place in Savannah GA, I think it’s called Savannah Bee Co., anyway, they have a honey bar…. you just go down the bar trying different flavors. IT WAS AMAZING!!!

Great giveaway.

First, I just wanted to let you know I love your blog. I found it through Tasty Kitchen and I check it every day now – I especially like the fitness tips you offer – they have given me plenty of ideas on how to change up my gym routine. Thanks!

Second, it is soooooo hard to choose one product from American Spoon. Since I’m obsessed with everything pumpkin right now, I would love to see what the pumpkin butter tastes like on a nice thick piece of multi-grain toast. But that burnt carmel gelato sounds delicious. Who am I kidding. I could find a use for anything on that site. It all looks fabulous! Thank you for introducting it to me!
