i love this new weekly “menu” feature. i foresee myself coming to your blog even MORE often now, when I am in the midst of planning events/gatherings/get togethers. i already visit your blog when I make dinner/work treats/something special for my neighbors, as you know.
Dear God…it’s already started….as I look at this menu again and again, the wheels in my head are turning…the former event planner in me is jumping up and down. I want to send out little invitations to some local girlfriends for a girls night in and serve them this menu. i will make cute little menu cards to display on the tables, and wear an apron whilst I am cooking. You will get 32723897594 text messages as I prepare these courses, because Lord knows I can’t get through a new recipe with out asking you some sort of question such as “how do you sift flour” or, inquiring on your prefered method of greasing a pan.
Let’s face it. You are my Martha. [only I like you better.]
I’ll invite you to my Girls Night In, too.
and not just as a ploy to get you away from Mr. How Sweet, and keep you for myself. And i promise i wont make you do all the cooking. Or any at all. You can just sit at my kitchen table and keep me company as I prepare this delicious meal for you. (and Caitlin and Julie and Abby and so on and so forth).
Although, I give you approx. 2 minutes of watching me trying to prepare this before you jump up and tell me to move over, and show me all the things im doing wrong.
ahem.
let us discuss what we will be doing while eating this delightful meal.
There is no doubt in my mind that SATC will be playing, a rotation of our favorite episodes. Quoting lines along with the ladies, and pausing the DVD to explain situations of similiar nature we’ve found ourselves in.
There may be drinks involved. I’m just saying.
And, since we will be at my apartment, we can play our favorite game of crush-days in real life. Fashion show. Only this time, I wont be taking photos to email to you for style approval, I will just try on every item in my closet and you can tell me what I should keep and what I should toss.
It will be like Stacey London comes to Scotia. Only better. Because it’s you. And there are chocolate chewies involved.
Of course, this should be a weekend slumber party, because the next morning we will have to go to the mall, as you will have given me the “keep it” sign for no more than 3 outfits, and I can’t go to work naked on Monday.
although…that may make things interesting.
When should I be there?? I tried making your chocolate chewies awhile back and I failed miserably. I know why now!! I didn’t whip the egg whites enough, major fail!! I am going to try them again soon. At least my batter tasted good!!!!!!!!! ;)
Can I come too? :-)
I want to come over!~ This looks fantastic Jessica… you are the best!! And I have a feeling that you guys know how to have fun too! :)
Blessings-
Amanda
I can’t find any whole wheat orzo around here! That recipe is going to find it’s way into my home anyway. Those chewies too!
OMG..these look great, the menu and the cookies!!! YUM!
Gorgonzola Stuffed Olives?! SOUND FANTASTIC, I’ve never heard of them :)
what a perfect night in by the sounds of it!
