I forgot the ‘L.’
How one forgets the ‘L’ in a BLT is beyond me. But trust me, when you hate veggies, it’s easy.
Actually, the lettuce was still sitting on my counter when I starting scarfing this sandwich. I promise that I had good intentions. I really meant to throw it on the sandwich. But then the beautiful bacon and cheddar caught my eye. I couldn’t help myself.
Blurry picture? Perhaps.
Again, I didn’t care. I just needed to get this into my stomach. It was divine.
On the ‘L’-less BLT: whole wheat toast, avocado, tomato, sharp cheddar, bacon, low-fat turkey, and a smidge of mayo.
I hate mayo in all other circumstances. But combined that toast and bacon and tomatoes, it is perfect.
Scrumptious, if I do say so myself.

Yum. I’m willing to throw out the T and the bread and go at it with a fork.

I enjoy adding avocado to my BLT, and only partially because I get to say, “I’m having a BLAT for lunch!”

I had myself a little caesar this afternoon- that was my afternoon delight- although it could have used some bacon infused vodka..

There IS such a thing! http://bakonvodka.com/ By all accounts, it’s disgusting though. SO disappointing…
Your “L-less BLT” looks scrumptious on the other hand :)
avocado on BLTs is so good! We call them California BLTs. I also really like Turkey Cobb Sandwiches: Turkey, bacon, avocado, hard boiled egg, and tomato….insanely good…and full of fat!

I love avocado on toasted sammies :) So YUM!

Scrumptious. Have you ever substituted ranch dressing instead of mayo?

I always wonder why the L is even in the title. It’s clearly the LEAST important part of the BLT – and I’m a veggie lover. Lettuce sucks in comparison to bacon.

i like to think avocado is a veggie. so u snuck some veg action in there.

I need this! Going to buy some bacon tomorrow to make this sandwich. And, yes, mayo is necessary in a BLT or BT in this case. Thanks for the lunch idea!

Um, yum. Your blog is full of delicious food and recipes, almost to the point that I would categorize it as food porn.
Thank you :-P

OH my gosh this looks so yummy. I love avocado and bacon. It’s an amazing combination!!

Mmmmm, I love BLTs! How do you cook your bacon? Do you fry up a bunch and then use it throughout the week, or just a little at a time? Or do you buy the precooked stuff?

It all depends. If it’s during the week, I usually put it on a wire rack under the broiler in the oven so I don’t have a mess to clean up. Many days I don’t have the time to babysit a frying pan full of bacon!

You just needed to rename the sandwich hon……LOL
I’m surprised you even got a picture before shoveling it in. That’s how I am!

A’s are an absolute must in BLTs. Or, in my case TBLTs. Tempeh bacon. ;)

O_O Maybe you could remove the T as well and just have a B sandwich. Awesomeness!

I’m thinking I could put the guacamole that is in my fridge on this and it would be divine, maybe with some Cabot Habanero Cheddar? Is it lunchtime yet? :)
