Caramelized Apple and Cheddar Omelet.
You know I love the sweet and salty combination.
And I don’t really do omelets since they tend to be packed with veggies, though it is one way that I can force the veggies down – as long as a pound of cheese in involved.
And bacon of course.
I probably would have added bacon in this omelet, or at least on the side, except I am out of it.
I know. Blasphemy. There is not a slice of bacon in this household. Who am I?
I am in love with this flavor combination.
Sweet onions and apples, salty cheese – it is just perfect. Plus, onions are vegetables right? See, at least I ate a few.

I appreciate you so much!
You know what would make this even better? Browning the apples and onions in bacon grease. I am also out of that. But next time… watch out. That is exactly how this is being made.
I need your help! I’ve talked about my best friend’s baby, Morgan, before. She is my buddy. We get along so well because we both have chubby thighs and love to eat ice cream. She is in the running to be the new face of Gerber, and makes the cutest “fishy face” ever. Please vote for her!

I have actually never had the apple cheddar combination, but this is enough to convince me! I made waffles the other day (I am addicted…I think I need a group) that was made of mostly egg and a little oatmeal for some body and they were so good. It made the waffle taste kind of custard like and with apples, it was perfect. Anyway, your omelet sounds delicious! I will definitely try this one out when I get some cheddar Daiya! I am off to vote for your friend! Have a great Sunday and for goodness sake…go get some bacon!
oh my gosh, i’m totally voting! do you just save the bacon grease that you get when you cook bacon, or is that something i could buy…?
I just save it. I don’t think you can buy it. At least I’ve never seen bacon fat for sale!
This sounds and looks pretty yummy! BTW, I did vote for Morgan…she is super cute!!
Oh dear…I shouldn’t have looked but I did and now this is all I want. Really yummy.
you are a genius!
Mmmm.. what a fun flavor combination!
That’s a great idea!

Just bookmarked this for tonights dinner ;)
I agree–sweet and salty combos are by far the best! :-)
Yummmm. Caramelised anything is awesome! I love it when I can burn things and just say they’re “caramelised”. :D (It would be so awesome if you could buy bacon fat. “Bacon grease! Fills all your requirements for saturated fact, trans fat, and polysaturated fats in half a serving!”)

Mmmmm….apple and cheddar is such a classic combo! yum!
Aww, Morgan is adorable! I am voting for her!
Mmm, this sounds like a winning combo. I don’t eat much cheese, but one of my favorite childhood combos was a granny smith and extra-sharp cheddar. I can only imagine how good the grown-up version must be!
and you put cheese on it. ^5 girl!
What a great idea to add apples to your omelet. I really like it and your suggestion to brown the apples first. Yum!
Just voted for that cutie pie baby!! :)
I love the combo of fruit and cheese!! I’m trying to eat lots of eggs now that I’m preggo b/c I’ve heard it’s extremely good for the baby. Thanks for a great new recipe to add to my collection!! :)
I’m so glad I already planned on having omelets for dinner. Otherwise I’d be craving these!
This looks amazing! I put apples in everything, so I can’t wait to try them in an omlet!

I LOVE the apple and the cheddar combo, but I’ve never thought to put it into an omelet! Ammmmazing
This looks so good!! I made an omlet the other day with mozzarella, cheddar, onions, mushrooms and tomato. You would have hated it ;) My cousins baby is running for the Gerber face too! Out of fam loyalty I have to vote for him. May the best baby win!!
Apple in eggs? I’ve definitely never tried this before! What a creation. Owww all that melty cheese. I will definitely vote for her- what a cutie. Love the fish face
Mmm! I recently tried an apple/cheddar/bacon egg bake and it was excellent! Sweet and salty is the best.
There is something about apple and cheese that makes me go crazy! I love it! So unique and flavorful!
once again, you’ve made something that sounds delicious…
I voted for Cute Little Morgan! :)
Sounds super tasty!! Yummm.
haha, nothing wrong with cheese! At least you’re being honest about how you feel. haha
I love the unique flavour combination of this omelette – great idea!!!
I’ve yet to put sweet yummies in my omelet…I need to try it. Maybe dinner tonight. And i just voted for little fish face baby girl. She is adorable!
The cheese oozing out of this omelet is like food porn!
Haha, I made an omelet filled with veggies this morning. Yours is way cheesier and looks awesome!
Love that sweet and salty combo – sounds delicious!
Oh my! This sounds amazing. Even without bacon. But how good would bacon be with the apples? Yum!
I am sorry, I didn’t read a word of that I was busy staring into that sexy oozy pool of melted cheese :)
That looks so spectacular! I want it right now, sans bacon.
i would’ve never thought to put apples in an omelet, but I love the apple/cheese combo. Must try this!
WOW! That omelette looks amazing. I feel like it should be on a cheese commercial because the cheese is at like a perfectly melty consistency. YUMMM!!
OMG I need to learn how to make an omelet so I can make this bad boy!
I love the apple cheddar combination! One of my favorite tricks for sneaking veggies into meals for non-veggie-lovers is masking the vegetable flavors with fruits. I don’t know how you feel about particular veggies, but the combination of tart granny smith apple slices and creamy melted cheddar does wonders to hide carrot slices or spinach leaves in grilled cheese sandwiches.
Apple and cheddar sound like a perfect pair in an omelet!

I can’t wait to try this tonight! I think I will use a granny smith apple to get some tartness though.
