You Scream, I Scream.
Today is the perfect Northern Michigan day in my eyes.
It is the first day where I can truly feel and smell that refreshing air.
There is also a signature wind – you can tell by the whitecaps on the water!
If I were to share my eats so far today, all you would see is ice cream and popcorn.
I’m on vacation.
Popcorn is boring but I will share some ice cream.
This is eskimo kisses. It is coconut ice cream with different chocolate chunks in it, and also laced with fresh coconut. It was awesome.
I am so excited about what we did next that I am almost jumping out of my skin.
I’ve have read about Fustini’s in Traverse magazine for the last few years, and I was super excited to go in.
We tasted so many vinegars and oils that I can’t ever remember the exotic flavors. If you’ve been reading for awhile, you’ll know that I don’t like salad dressing and use flavored vinegars on my salads (when I eat salads… obviously).
I’d love to tell you which flavors I got, but then I would have to tell Mr. How Sweet too. And let’s be honest, he doesn’t need to know how much money I spent on vinegar.
You can check out all the flavors on the website. What flavors do you think I got?
I guess you’ll just have to wait and see what I make with them!
Afterwards, we stopped and got more ice cream from American Spoon.
This time I rolled with the burnt caramel gelato. It was divine.
I won’t lie. I’m ice creamed-out. I don’t love ice cream. Mainly because I don’t enjoy foods at extreme temperatures. I’ve had my fill this week!
Now off to dinner and hopefully one last gorgeous sunset. I never want to leave!

LOVE Fustini’s! I live in Ann Arbor & they just opened one . . . it’s trouble for sure!
I haven’t been yet–because I know when I go, all hell will break loose!
I was actually in Pittsburgh for work last night & today. Went to Willow for dinner. If you haven’t been, you HAVE to go! I insist! It’s amazing! :)
how could you ever be ice creamed out? impossible!!!
and i know what flavors you got, but my lips are sealed :)
This has probably got to be the best day EVER! Ice cream x2?!? OMG Yes!! Both of those flavors sound incredible, but the burnt caramel gelato has got my mouth watering.
I think, why stop now? You guys should totally get ice cream for dinner. ;)
Looks blissfully relaxing!
I scream! I scream!
haha I love ice cream and I don’t mind eating it all the time. Except sugar gives me headaches so I have to be super moderate or make banana soft serve! Which is just fine with me. I love that shiz.

OMG fustini’s looks like so much fun!! I didn’t know places like that even existed! I love flavored olive oil..soo good.
Oh my – coconut ice cream with chocolate chunks and fresh coconut. That sounds divine!
I am not a huge ice cream person either, but Lori and I have been making a lot over here. Maybe I am converting, haha.
That ice cream makes me want to make out with an eskimo!! Did I really just say that?! ;)
Uuugh, why is your vacation so perfect and why I am I not there?!
Wow! Those vinegars look amazing! And the ice cream looks wonderful too!
It seriously seems like you have had the trip of a lifetime! I know you must be so sad to leave and come back here to PA. :-(
those vinegars look so good! i need to see if i can order some from their website, i HAVE to try them!
that’s funny about how you don’t like foods at extreme temps – the man is the same way… i’m so the opposite, i like my food screaming hot or ice cold!
MMMH! I love ice cream and had it everyday during my holiday in France :P
Vanilla bean balsamic? I need this.
They have some amazing flavors.
Totally addicted to fustinis! The people in the Traverse City location know exactly what I come in for :) did you sample any of the oils! The citrus & spicy oils are T. D. F.
I hope you can return to northern Michigan soon <3
Wow, that coconut ice cream sounded just ok until you said fresh coconut! Love fresh coconut!! Have I mentioned I live next door to a gelato shop? It is dangerous.
Love it. I’m soaking in your vacation. I can almost feel the breezes from those photos. I love that those olive oil and vinegar places seem to be popping up all over! We have a similar one in Chicago and I once went to one in Minnesota as well, although I don’t remember vanilla and chocolate balsamic vinegar. Yum. It makes me want to try to make my own by infusing good balsamic vinegar with vanilla beans. The chocolate one though I am not 100% sure how they make.
I need some of that eskimo kisses ice cream ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love all your vacation pictures! I am home in Traverse City for the summer, and it is always hard to leave. Check out Naturally Nutty nut butters if you have time–the white chocolate cherry almond butter is unreal.
I’ve been following your vacation posts, looks like you had a fantastic time ;)
