Apple Nachos.
I told you that I really love apples.
I love them in all forms. Hot, cold, shredded, baked. I even love them in salads. Well, as much as I can love salads that is.
I spied apple nachos in the newest Taste of Home and couldn’t stop thinking about them. I mean, what a perfect snack for me! I get a little chocolate, peanut butter, coconut and salty pecans, but since all of this tops off a giant honeycrisp apple, it has to be healthy. Right? Yep, that’s what I thought too.
I added a little dollop of greek yogurt, which I promptly spread all over the apple and said toppings. How could something so simple boggle my mind like this? Why haven’t I ever made these before?! Have you all been holding out on me?
If you knew about the apple nachos I’m a bit annoyed that you didn’t share.
As I was making these, I decided that I had to sprinkle the entire plate with cinnamon. But then I got caught up in the whirlwind of the peanut butter and chocolate and I forgot the cinnamon! I didn’t even remember it until I looked at these pictures. The veggies must have poisoned my mind.
If you make these you must add some cinnamon. And nutmeg. And even some apple pie spice?
I can’t even concentrate. I need to go make these for breakfast. They were such a treat. Can you tell I’m obsessed? I hope not. I can be a bit insecure.

I appreciate you so much!
Looks like things are back to normal around here. Peanut butter, chocolate, coconut… we definitely needed this after those brussels sprouts. Now tell me – what would you add to your apple nachos? I need ideas since this will clearly be a meal for me for the next 6 months.

What a cool idea. They are just gorgeous. And apples and nut butter is one of the greatest combos. This would be really fun to make for kids too!
Oh. My. That is the very best and delicious idea EVER!! I will use whip cream instead of yoghurt bc if you are going off the deep end you might as well go all the way!! Right?
That’s awesome! Have you ever had apple pie enchiladas or apple empanadas? You’d love them!
No! Why haven’t you told me about these before?!
I’d add coconut butter, hot fudge sauce (cocoa + sugar + water -> microwave), marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, sprinkles, cinnamon, and if I had the time to make custard, I would make that.
Dude. Dessert for breakfast. YES.
This is brilliant. And totally healthy, I agree :-)
That is so cool – I’ve never seen a dish with apples AND chocolate – will definitely have to make it for my husband.
Drool! That looks soooo good.
Oh my gosh, how great do these look! Much better than yesterday’s brussels sprouts. ;)
I love that you get that food should be fun! You can always find a way to eat the good stuff and make it feel naughty! This looks delicious! Figs or dates would be so good with this! YUM!
I love figs and didn’t even think of those! Great idea.
1) Green apples or Fuji or Cream cheese and finely crushed graham cracker and mini chocolate chips.
2) Fuji apples or green dipped in Nutella and crushed ( not to fine) pretzels
3) Marshmallow cream and carmel, sometimes mini chocolate chips.
4) soft carmel and crushed nuts.
5) Vanilla yogurt and hazelnut granola.
6) Green Apples dipped in marshmallow cream with cream cheese and vanilla extract whipped together. Can add food coloring to go with holiday.
Green and Red Apples sliced medium spread on microwave plate. Sprinkle cinnamon, fine brown sugar, raisins, crushed walnuts drizzled with a little real butter. Put in microwave for 1 minute at 30 second intervals. Eat warm but be carefull can get really hot.
Love Love Love these!!!!
This looks so beautiful, and delicious:) This would be fun to make with kids!!
you would :)
These look incredible! You concoct the most amazing recipes, Jessica! These apple nachos could almost be considered a healthy breakfast, right? I mean, they do have apples and yogurt! ;-)
That is such a fun idea!! It looks delicious!
We are doing an apple theme this week at our house and this will be a PERFECT snack to make! Thanks!
Brilliant idea! I’ve never seen Apple Nachos before either. Taste of Home has some super tasty recipes…My mom made their Upside Down Banana Pecan French Toast for our family brunch this weekend–WOW! If you have a chance to try it, I definitely recommend :)
That sounds incredible! Will definitely check it out. Thanks!
That seriously looks like heaven on a plate. I MUST try those!!! :)
I’ve never been a salty snack girl, so these are right up my alley. I love that you’ve been including more veg-friendly recipes lately- it’s probably not intentional, but now I can think of acutally eating the meals instead of just making them for my brother and BF (though I know they’d absolutely LOVE them- I’m just selfish)!
Haha not intentional, but I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
I prefer honeycrisps!
That’s what I used!
Mmmm… these would be really good with Nutella , no? :)
These look fantastic! What a great idea.
Mini marhmallows, graham cracker pieces and maybe peanut butter cups.
fantastic idea!!!
omg!! i have seen something like htat before in a restaurant but NOTHING that looks as good as those!! they weren’t apple nachos either, it was apple ‘pizza’ placed on dough then covered with toppings
taht looks so good!!!
Awesome idea! LOEV THIS!
You have awoken my sweet tooth!
These would make a great after school snack.
i’m with you on this one because you added coconut. I can’t get enough of coconut.
Apple nachos? Are you for real? Why haven’t I heard of this before- they look incredible!!!
That is exactly how I felt too!
I swear you get more creative every day! Since I am an apple freak, these will definitely be making an appearance in my household in the very near future :)
These look like so much fun! What a cute snack !
That is awesome! I might have to try it out this weekend.
Wow, what a cool idea! But nachos without cheese? These are begging for some cheddar or brie! ;)
You are right… I love apples with brie and cheddar, especially smoked cheddar!
Can I have this for breakfast?
Love.Want. Need.
I’ve never had a honeycrisp apple. I need to pick some up!
Never?! Oh girl – you must!
There are no words for how happy this makes me. I need to go pick some apples and create this divinity right now.
You should bake the apple thins to make them crispy like tortilla chips first next time…Then top them!
Great idea!
When I heard apple nachos, I was a little confused. But oh.my.lord this look AMAZING!
Ummm…AMAZING! So going to try this one out. ;)
brie, walnuts & fresh honey……
Thanks for the tip!
I’ve been up to my ears in apples and looking for fun new things to do with them!
Those are so pretty!
When I read the title I totally thought it was going to be a savory caramelized onion apple and sharp cheddar-ish nacho dish. What a sweet surprise! I want these now!
I can see myself easily growing addicted to these. They look amazing!
My favorite apple dip uses cream cheese, peanut butter, a little brown sugar/honey, and cinnamon. I just throw spoofuls into a bowl until it tastes right and eat… so good! It’s great on toast, too. If I use low-fat cream cheese and natural pb I can justify it as a healthy snack, right?
BTW – I just started reading your blog and have tried a few of your recipes and workout tips; I am really enjoying it. It has become one of my daily must-reads.
Thank you so much Kristen! That means so much to me. And the apple dip sounds delicious!
OOh, these look lovely. And so easy too. I think I would add coconut, honey, PB cups, M&M’s…..I don’t know really!
Your creativity blows my mind! I am in love with honey crisps and could eat them at every meal. This looks like such a fun way to jazz one up though.
These look fantastic! I;m thinking dessert tonight. :)
I totally love the looks of these! Skylar eats sooo many apples, it’s kind ridic! And as a mom, if i ever have any fruit that’s past it’s prime or is about to be…sprinkle of cinny/sugar, maybe a drizzle of agave or maple, or a few choc chips, and nuke that for 20 secs, yeah, that past-due fruit gets eaten in a jiffy. This is the grown up version…i want it!!! :)
OMG…I totally made this the other day but with banana instead of apple! I must have it with apple now…yummy!
