Chocolate Cherry Crispies.

I’ve got one of the quickest, easiest, healthiest desserts comin’ at you.

It only takes 3 ingredients:

Hence the name.

Yep, that’s right. Cereal, chocolate chunks and dried cherries (or fruit of your choice!)

They come out looking like this:

And then you try not to consume 16 in one sitting. Having your significant other, friend or family member handcuff you helps. I highly recommend it.

Because all you will want to do is eat every single one.

Chocolate Cherry Crispies

makes about 12 crispies

3 cups rice cereal (white or brown)

1/4 cup dried cherries, chopped

1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks, melted

Combine rice cereal and cherries in a bowl. Melt chocolate chips (I do it in the microwave) and pour over cereal mix. Use a spatula to combine and spread chocolate evenly. Using an ice cream scooper, scoop out crispies and lay them on a baking sheet. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

I’m going to make another batch.

All I can say is YUM! I loved rice crispies growing up (and still do ;) ), but now I can enjoy this delicious grown-up version!

Hooray for easy, yummy recipes! Would it work without an ice cream scooper? Surprisingly, I don’t have one. Not that I need one since I tend to eat pints of ice cream in one sitting!

Yes I’m sure it would – just get your hands dirty. :)

Much easier than the traditional rice krispies recipe, which obviously never gets made in my kitchen. I am a huge fan of throwing random shit in with cereal so this is perfect. Next time I am in clearwater, this is my go-to dessert.

Yum!! I don’t usually like choco-cherry stuff (cherry garcia, chocolate covered cherries, etc.) but I know I’d like those :-)

Delicious! I have made the same, but I subbed almonds for the rice crispies- so, so good!

I made these last night to take to a gathering of friends. They were a tad messy…mine didn’t turn out in neat scoops like yours. But, they tasted great!! Now I have to decide if I can really share…Hmmm.
