But then you have to remove a single piece to photograph it before the party. You think about gingerly placing the slice back in it’s place, but you just can’t help yourself.
ahahahahaha! I literally almost fell off a stool reading this! You showed up with a slice missing from the cake? ohmygosh too funny! How did you talk yourself out of that one? ;)
Haha! Been there!! I was at a party once where I baked a tres leches cake. I carefully cut a center piece, put it in a tupperware and guarded it all night to make sure I could shoot it in the morning.
hahahaha! so funny! i would have done the same thing! quality control, right? i mean, its someone’s birthday…..you have to make sure that their cake is perfect, am i right?
Haha! I’m sure they will understand. And I’m sitting my M while she does a puzzle and wants nothing to do with me, but she looked up and saw the cupcakes. She got all excited. LOL
LOL! I’m NOT a food blogger, yet I’m guilty of stealing a piece for the sake of QC (quality control). After all, friends don’t let friends eat underbaked cake….umm…yeah. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! :-)

Wait did I miss the before pic, cause this just looks like an after to me.
No – recipe coming Thursday. :)
Haha! I’ve actually found myself baking fewer cakes/pies since I started my blog, because they prohibit me from snapping a picture beforehand.
Totally hear that.
I feel your pain! Love it!
haha, totally something I might catch myself doing.

Lol…I know this phrase is very 90’s, but it feels applicable: “Oh no you didn’t!” :-)
Love it!
Happens every. single. time. I can’t help it either!
We live a tough life…
I’m so guilty of this.
Ah so true, so true ; )
You have to test it to make sure it’s good;)
Wear that beadge with pride! Besides, we all have to make sure it is safe to eat.
It was quality control, obviously ;)
Obviously!
Haha, I did that with my parents’ birthday cake a few months ago!
Somehow this doesn’t surprise me anymore!! LOL

Yep – I have totally done that :-)
I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
Well, you can’t exactly let someone else taste it before you do!
hahahaha well played, Jessica. Well played.
Love ya! I am regretting sending cakes to friends without tasting them. Thank you so much for letting me know that it is possible!!
classic!!
It reminds me of the Cosby episode where he eats the center out of the cake, then stuffs a paper towel where the missing cake is & re-frosts…
can’t wait for the recipe!
I have so done that! Too funny!
Oh, goodness me. I cannot tell you how many times I have “sampled for quality control” and ended up with NOT ENOUGH for my original cause. D’oh.
