One Of Those Weeks.
On Monday, I spilled an entire bowl of tomato soup on our like-new beige carpeting.
It literally flew 15 feet in each direction. At least I had enough sense to not photograph it before it set. I cried. I scrubbed. Mr. How Sweet came home. He got annoyed. He scrubbed. I threw a hissy fit. I threw his pillow down the stairs. He slept on the couch. He cuddled up to me in bed at 3 am. I sleep-elbowed him in the nose.
Oh marriage!
I think we all know what happened to this infamous egg. It committed eggicide (coined by NancyC in the comments) on Wednesday.
I learned my lesson and kept this spill from Mr. How Sweet. Until I posted it on my blog this afternoon.
I’m still learning.
Tonight, I tried to reheat some corn. It exploded in the microwave.
Like… all over the microwave.
Ignore the filth of the microwave.
Oh yeah, and today my kitchen looked like this.
I feel better. You guys are like therapy.

For a minute, I thought you had snuck into my kitchen to take that picture. But then I realized that my kitchen is not that big. :-) Glad to hear I’m not the only kitchen klutz (maybe that’s what I should have named my blog)
Oh dang girl! I too spilled something red on my beige carpet. Called the carpet company to come clean it, they wouldn’t, said they would bleach the carpet. Come to find out you are to use a spray bottle full of hydrogen peroxide and spritz it lightly 2xday for several weeks and it will fade out the red stains. It’s starting to work too, who knew!!!
Just thought I’d share that with ya!
Thank you!
Now I feel good. My kitchen looks like this a lot. Problem we have is that there are three (and sometimes four) adult cooks in the house. Only one cleans up on a regular basis – me! I live with my two adult kids and their partners (upstairs and downstairs ofcourse) which most of the time works very well. Except that I will always be mum and clean up after them!!!!!!!!!Love your blog. Love it that you are so normal!!!!!!!!!
I see chocolate chips and barbeque sauce…. did you mix them??? ; )
I popped over from the Gooey Butter Cake on TK. It is a snowy day here and I have been reading & drooling over her on your blog. I came to this post and had to share a trick for removing stains from light carpet. It has been a lifesaver for me! First blot the stain removing as much as possible, while carpet is still wet, cover thoroughly with salt, cover salt with a dish towel and leave it for a couple of days, the salt will pull up the stain. Sweep the salt onto a dust pan the best you can before vacuuming. This has removed some terrible stains for me. (think spaghetti vomit on my brand new carpets)
Thank you Heather!
