HAHAHAHAHA Aw man. No maid under the Christmas tree? Next year your New Year’s resolution should be to hire a full time cleaning staff. :) It’s WAY easier! And then you can concentrate on cooking and baking so we all get to drool on our keyboards.
Yeah… I cant figure out how to stop making this happen either!!!! I considered adopting a monkey and teaching it how to do dishes… but then I thought of changing diapers… and um, really? a monkey? i’m that lazy
A ha ha!! This cracked me up! Hey, keeping a clean kitchen is actually really hard. I don’t think mine is every fully cleaned. There’s always something somewhere.
Love it…4 days in and you want to surrender? Try the Jedi Mind Trick…and use the Darth Vader scene.I find applying that and believing in it against all odds is fundamental. Here…work with me…
Darth Vader: You cannot hide from the dishes in the sink forever, Jessica.
Jessica: I will not do dishes just to make you happy Darth or to follow a dumb New Year’s Tradition of making resolutions I already had no clear intention of fulfilling.
Darth Vader: Give yourself to the Dark Side, Jessica. It is the only way you can save your new Year’s Resolution. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for… someone else to come clean up your mess. Did you know you have a twin sister? Your feelings have now betrayed her, too. Her sink is also in disaster mode. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me because I could make you do the cleaning as you go by holding her hostage. Now his failure is complete. And so is yours with the kitchen sink. If you will not turn to the Dark Side… then perhaps she will…
Jessica: [igniting light saber, screams] NO! Those dishes aren’t really there, I did them! And you let my twin loose! I need someone else who understands my bacon fetish!
See…no problem. The dishes are not there…they have already been done. Yoda Rules.
I can’t stand things in my sink, so I put them all in the dishwasher. The Fly Lady says to clean your sink each night and lay out a clean dishtowel. I have adopted that ONE LITTLE thing she suggests. It’s weird, but seeing my sink clean and ready for the day calms me and makes me feel like I can tackle anything.
So much for cleaning as you go! :-) Seriously, when I looked at your sink the first thought that came to mind was “I bet that was one delicious meal! My second thought was “I hope Mr. How Sweet helped with the dishes and clean up”! :-)
