It’s Monday.
I dropped this mess on the carpet in the living room.
I know. Why was this even in the living room? I don’t know.
I watched Sopranos. I still can’t get over it.
I ate a delicious tuna creation for lunch. Perhaps I will recreate to share?
I drank this juice.
Don’t let the color fool you. I really just juiced a few spinach leaves and about 8 billion strawberries.
I made the best margaritas yesterday. Seriously the best I’ve ever had, and I’m a big margarita snob. I hope I can remember the ingredient measurements so I can stop being so selfish with recipes.
I topped a few of the brown sugar banana cupcakes with a strawberry buttercream frosting if avocado freaks you out. In which case I really don’t know how much longer we can maintain this friendship, but… here’s a picture if you want to see.
I have no idea what I’m having for dinner. Again. What are you having?
I live a boring life. It’s true.

Aren’t you glad you got rid of that pesky job?
Haha I have done that so many times with bright purple smoothies…they don’t come out of white carpet just in case anyone was wondering…
Oh no, I don’t like avocados. Please don’t de-friend me ;)
What?!
Bless your heart, that mess is… well, a mess. :p
Dinner is out. which sort of stinks because we have been out a lot lately… but our daughter has a volleyball game and it all gets complicated and stressful if we try to work dinner out too…
Signing off, and secretly hoping the magical margarita recipe finds it’s way here… could use one.
my green smoothies are always mostly strawberries too.
i’m going out for ramen tonight, can’t wait!
is that shortening remnants in the measuring cup? :)
tonight is a new recipe! if it turns out, i’ll be posting it soon. grain salad with some fun mix-ins, and fish. and some type of green veggie, probably.
I’m debating on whether to make a tequilla lime chicken or go the asian route with the chicken. I’ve been on a mexican food overload the past few days, but tequilla and limes just sounds so good to me right now.
I am all cooked out for this weekend…plus I ate my weight in cheesy potatoes yesterday. So it’s salad for me for supper. I will probably fix grilled cheese & tomato soup for my hubby and daughter – easy and they never complain about it!
I had a similar carpet mess incident when I dropped my smoothie cup on the carpet – it was almost empty but I’m still trying to think of the easiest and most effortless way to get the green marks out! Not sure what’s for dinner tonight.. maybe something Mexican since my taste buds just can’t seem to get enough! Does avocado icing count as Mexican? After all, it’s kind of like guac, but a smoother version… ;)
All I know is that I see an Oreos package on the ground — and now I want to know what you were making!!! and please send me some thanks.
I’m making sweet and sour chicken for dinner! From scratch and not fried. I’m very excited to make it for the first time! It’s from this months Everyday with Rachel Ray.
I’m making roasted chicken and black bean enchiladas for my finace, to make up for the fact that no one cooks for him while I’m away at school. That’s what he gets for graduating from college two years ahead of me. Summers are very tasty for him.
We’re having leftover shephard’s pie for dinner tonight.
Carefull I think clumbsy is going around. I’ve been dropping everything under the sun lately, including my favorite insulated water botle. The inner lining cracked and the darn thing is ruined.
I can’t wait to see what you made for lunch!
Haha you crack me up! Why was it in the dining room? Why not?
Was this your first time watching The Sopranos? I had to watch the pilot episode for a class last semester and I kind of want to Netflix the entire series now.
Right now I’m eating a bunch of veggies with Trader Joe’s spicy peanut sauce and spoiling my dinner. But I’m thinking a tofu scramble is in the works. Muahaha!
Oh no… I watched Sopranos from the start (when I was way too young to be watching it) and have been addicted ever since. It’s one of those shows that I just rewatch and rewatch and rewatch and…
I am always dropping stuff on the carpet too, what is with that??
I am having fish taco’s for dinner! YUM!
I have never watched one Soprano episode :(
I have been making the green monster smoothies
just like that, a few spinach leaves and lots of strawberries and a banana!
Sorry about the spill on the carpet! EEK!
Burgers. Boring but easy. My boyfriend has declared June “Indian Food Month”. He wants to order a whole bunch of spices and stuff and try a new Indian recipe every day for a month. I say, I don’t have to cook for a month? Fine by me!
Oh my gosh. My husband would never even try Indian. I should’ve married a foodie!
Making 5lbs of tomato sauce to last us for several meals!
I’m a total margarita snob! Please share the recipe because I can never make it how I like it myself!
Well we have one thing, no two things in common….we know how to make a mess :-) and we like avocados. I’m all over those cupcakes girl!
Tonight I’m having Indian Masala veggies with coconut curry tofu….er, I have a feeling this is one thing we don’t have in common ;-)
Avocados = love in this house. I so want to try that recipe! Don’t sweat the carpet, I have done wayyy worse. But we have animals, I blame the spots on the carpet on them if my husband see’s them…”hmmm?? what spot?? Oh, yeah Daisy had a little accident”.
Now I keep thinking about Margarita’s…I have a brand new bottle of Skinnygirl Margarita in my fridge and freshly just cut up watermelon…watermelon margaritas anyway??
your life is not boring when you eat such magnificent food every day! i need to take cues from you during this job-less summer i have ahead of me!
For dinner tonight we’re having linguine with bacon, zucchini and mushrooms. And I agree with Elena, your life is not boring.
You crack me up. I tend to be carrying my bowls and things into other parts of the house because I’m chasing my 20 month old and “trying” to multi-task:)
Curious – are you a full time food blogger/writer now?
I am!
lentil tacos for tonight’s dinner! They were so good!
Were you carrying those ingredients to take a picture in the living room? Hope your evening is better:)
homemade pizza! using pioneer woman’s dough recipe. sooooo delicious!
Oh no! Did you just stand there and look at the mess on the living room floor in shock for a second? That’s when I wish life had a rewind button!!
Hate to tell you but I am an avocado snob. I don’t like them just hanging out in my salad but in a sauce I like it. (I think I am basing this solely on one sandwich from Jimmy John’s.) They are just too blah for me. Also, what’s up with the Oreo package and the eggs?? What WERE you doing?
I had a barley, garbanzo bean, blueberry, and veggie salad for dinner.
Nothing spectacular.
Want to know what I had for dinner? Well… I have a request for you… if you would like… My mom is a wonderful cook, and one of our favorite nostalgic meals is Chicken Pillows. It’s really simple, but our problem is that it is really bland. Just plain old boring. We’ve tried adding more and different ingredients, but never can get it right. I would love to get your insight on it, and maybe you could make the recipe (I’ve heard how much Mr. How Sweet loves chicken!) Here’s the recipe:
13 oz diced white meat chicken (usually seasoned heavily with Lowry’s, love that stuff!)
1/4 cup butter, softened
4 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 cups crushed breadcrumbs (I usually use Italian style)
-You mix the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl, and place heaping spoonfuls of it on crescent roll squares. Fold in corners like a diaper, brush with melted butter, and roll in breadcrumbs. Bake in oven at 350 about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
This recipe is good home cooked food, but it can just be so bland! Any ideas/suggestions would be GREAT! :)
It might be bland because there is no salt and pepper? Sometimes I make a similar dish with biscuits but if you add some salt and pepper I’m sure it would taste better!
i’m a huge fan of green smoothies. much more convenient way to get all the veggies. typically i use spinach but it generally works with anything i have. (snap peas, broccoli, etc.) and strawberries being one of my faves i love to use a lot too. but sometimes i like to use no strawberries and a bunch of pineapple peach and mango. (and yogurt. mmmm) no red makes it this awesome bright green! less scary.
I vote for sharing a tuna recipe. Just to balance out the cupcakes with some lean protein. ;)
Okay, so first of all, I’m obsessed with your blog– which is really half because of the amazing food and half because you are hilarious and kind of my soul sister.
But what I really needed to comment about here was THE SOPRANOS. I just (!?!) started watching Season 1, and I am completely hooked. It’s entirely likely that I’ll be losing hours and days and months and years to watching this show. OBSESSED.
I absolutely hate dropping stuff but it seems like I’ve been super clumsy since I got pregnant. UGHHHHH I hate cleaning it up.
Dinner? Roast chicken and broccoli. But there is cake for dessert. :)
