My mouth literally dropped when I saw this!! Would you grind it on top of a latte? Rim a mocha martini glass? Make a pretty topping for cupcakes or ice cream? (ps, totally looking for this in my TJ’s next week!)
I hope whatever the hell you figure out you blog about it because I can’t figure it out either. I tried it on some buttered toast and dare I say…it was gross. LOL I’m going to try it in some oatmeal and I think on some vanilla ice cream would be really good. I love the idea of grinding it over banana bread before baking! (that’s what she said)
Ice cream topping! I say re-name it manna from heaven, but that’s just me. And while I agree vanilla ice cream would be good, I can’t help drooling a little thinking of this on caramel ice cream.
Figured it would be better to comment here. I live in South Africa and have never seen it before. It say’s product of South Africa? Or am I just crazy? Wish I could find it here, Sounds so yummy
It’s good stuff! I put it on top of coffee – good, but gritty at the end since the coffee beans don’t dissolve like the chocolate and sugar does. I did not care for it on toast. It’s good on oatmeal! I love the idea of trying it on ice cream. I will have to try that one.
I put in on some fruit, though the coffee-ness tastes a bit weird on some fruit. On top of baked goods on their way into the oven, on pb&j sandwiches. Since I am not a coffee fan, I am hoping they release more varieties of sweet grinders. Say, chocolate, sugar, cinnamon?? Or dark chocolate, milk chocolate, sugar?
I saw these at TJ’s and HAD to have it! I made a version of your mocha coconut frappuccino cupcakes (used mocha flavored Via [from Starbucks] and coconut butter) and ground this on top of the frosting before the drizzle and they were a HIT! Thank you for the recipe :)
I keep thinking about this and I’m wondering how it would be on Fage 2% plain yogurt…maybe chocolatize the yogurt and grind this on top? Sounds promising. With crushed cookies sprinkled on it too!
I grind it onto or into pretty much every dessert that I eat or make-fruit, sorbet, cookies, chocolate cake, cookies, literally anything and maybe cut back a bit on some of the sugar the recipe calls for. It would work for pretty much everything you post on your blog. Oh! and its delicious as part of a rub for grilling meat. Enjoy! I just moved to a TJ’s-less land, and it is sad and difficult.
Oh. My. Goodness. What6 on earth is one of those stores going to pop up in Memphis?? I think you should sprinkle it on top of a cookie, just like the sea salt.
I so wish I would have bought the other day when I saw it. Can’t wait to see what you are going to do. I would most likely start with topping my homemade vanilla ice cream!
You mean I was in TJ’s last night and missed those?!! (ok, so I got green figs, prosciutto, and honey chevre and am practically drooling anticipation of dinner with them, but still…).
Did I mention that I <3 TJs? The world would be a sad, sad place without them!
Grind it straight into your mouth! Seriously.
Also good on toast with peanut butter, oatmeal, vanilla yogurt, probably ice cream and I’m sure frosting. I think I’ll grind it on top of cookies and brownies too before they hit the oven…..
Does TJ’s have a web, where you can order? Might be worth a look.. Or ask.. Beg.. Someone you know with one in their area, they can buy and ship it to ya! Hope this helps!
I’m sure you have a ton of ideas now regarding what to do with it….I just wanted to say I can’t wait to see what you make! Immediately, I’d sprinkle on a latte. After that, I’d stare at the beautiful jars and think, “I’m so lucky to have them”. Then I’d crack open the cookbooks and see what I can do!
I made some brownies and put a dollop of whipped cream on top and grinded some of this…it gave it a little crunchy deliciousness — as if brownies aren’t amazing ENOUGH!
Dallas, sadly, has not yet received our TJ’s but it is coming soon. I had the joy of visiting one for the first time ever back in July in Chicago. I can’t wait for it to show up here so I can try this out. That is unless someone is feeling generous and wants to buy one and mail it to me?? :D
haha! i bought some and thought the same thing! i’ve sprinkled it on whipped cream (which was on top of something else that escapes me) and it was quite good.
I worked at trader joes the last two years. we got that in a while back and we put it on ice cream it was epic! Definitely recommend putting it all over a bowl of Trader Joes Vanilla Ice Cream. Ps you should try the ginger snap ice cream if you haven’t tried it yet!

This is so unfair. Why can’t we have a TJ’s in Canada? :'(
Lob laws sold something similar they may still have it.

YES! I have this too and I have no clue what to do with it. Maybe over cupcake size cheesecakes?
Mmm, it’s delicious on chocolate pudding!!!
Mocha Cupcakes!
Oooohhh, sugar chocolate coffee french toast? Like cinnamon french toast…but wayyy better.
Umm if it wasn’t midnight I would go to E. Liberty right now to pick some of this up.

LOL!
Grind it over hot chocolate, or a mocha…topped with freshly whipped cream. Or if you bake some brownies or cupcakes, sprinkle it over the frosting.
WHAT???!!! OMG!! The only thing those grinders needs is a touch of bacon! LOL
Oh my god, so awesome – I’d just be putting these over everything sweet!

I think that’s because it’s a Trader Joe’s exclusive. Unless you have a TJ’s, you won’t be able to find it – at least in that packaging.
Ah i see, Guess i live in the wrong place :) Awesome Blog by the way,

That looks fanastic!
Ya, you should put it on top of a fancy coffee, topped with whipped cream. Mmmmmmm!
Oooooo…wouldn’t it be good if u made a snickerdoodle like cookie but rolled it in that fun u got right there!!???mmmmmmm
Ohhhh, think I’ll get some to go atop my morning latte!
Must.
Have.
This.
NOW …
I see a trip to Trader Joe’s in my return home trip!

Grind some on top of vanilla bean ice cream! My hubby and I have been LOVING it!
I put it on oatmeal, cold cereal (in the milk), and sliced bananas with pb (trust me)
I keep thinking about this and I’m wondering how it would be on Fage 2% plain yogurt…maybe chocolatize the yogurt and grind this on top? Sounds promising. With crushed cookies sprinkled on it too!

Too bad that I’m allergic to chocolate :( Do they make it in white chocolate? :)
Oh. My. Goodness. What6 on earth is one of those stores going to pop up in Memphis?? I think you should sprinkle it on top of a cookie, just like the sea salt.

Oh dear, I bought this a few weeks ago and meant to tell you because I knew you’d love it! We’re diggin’ it on freshly made popcorn :)
I saw this!!! I almost got it but we had so many other new products to try that I said, “Next time.” Now I’m wishing I had it.
You mean I was in TJ’s last night and missed those?!! (ok, so I got green figs, prosciutto, and honey chevre and am practically drooling anticipation of dinner with them, but still…).

Wow that stuff looks amazing!!!
OMGosh!!!!
How awesome!!
Too bad we do NOT have a TJ’s anywhere near me… :-(

That stuff is seriously awesome. I put it on ice cream last night :)
My TJ’s was out :( Even the sales girl was pouting a bit about it… All I know is that when they finally do have it, I’m buying more than one! :)
I never heard of Trader Joe’s until you mentioned it in your posts. I stoppped at a Trader Joe’s this morning and it’s a very cool store!
they were all out when i went to TJ’s last week…and it’s an hr away so i won’t be going anytime soon. so sad!
