How was yours?
I’m Jessica and this is where I share my stuff. You will find a balance of healthy recipes, comfort food and indulgent desserts.
I am madly, passionately, inexplicably in love with food. Bacon makes me beam. Chocolate makes me shout from the rooftops with joy. Vegetables and I are the best of frenemies. My perfect world would include none of them.

In comparison, it looks like my weekend isn’t even worthy of that title compared to yours. You had cake twice!

That blue is such a beautiful color to accessorize with! (Not that I know anything about fashion– but I’m guessing here)

Mine was lazy! I should really take more pictures like you do. :)

Somebody is having a whole lot-a fun with her iPhone photos apps. — They can be addicting as long as you don’t end up with too many Jess. I find the more I have the less I use them…too hard to keep track.
I love the effects some of these have. Great idea for a post gal.

The cupcakes and the earrings steal the show.
And I love that you love Lomo-Fi. Great filter!
I want something similar for my non-iPhone photos. I like whatever you’re using. Any tips?

What is lomo-fi?? I took all these pics with my iPhone – I didn’t even know you can get something like this for regular camera photos!

Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga — August 22nd, 2011 @ 7:33 am
The Lomo-Fi filter on Instagram. I thought you posted them all to IG and then it saves it to your phone and then you can sync that up with your computer and post to blog.
Or…you can be like me and download presets for Lightroom that are “knock-off’s” of Instagram filters. I paid for them. And they are fine, but they aren’t AS good as using real instagram. But that eliminates the need to actually have posted the pic to instagram.
That was confusing but that’s how i do it :)
But if you took them all with your camera, you still put the borders on and the filters…that’s what i was curious about how you did it and what your strategy was.
Jessica — August 22nd, 2011 @ 7:35 am
Oooooh I gotcha! These ones on here were taken with my phone but the main filter on them with the borders is from snapseed! I didn’t know I could do that with Lightroom.
Averie @ Love Veggies and Yoga — August 22nd, 2011 @ 7:42 am
snapseed. got it. had never heard of that one.
i bought filters for my lightroom and they’re fine..but nothing ‘amazing’. I would recommend just staying with what you’re using b/c the free presets that are filters ive found for lightroom are lame. And the paid ones aren’t too much better.
Need to check out the snapseed stuff..
We should be talking about lip gloss or cookies…and here we’re talking about…filters. lol
I do think that yours was better than mine. Looks AMAZING! Flowers + Food + Puppy + Pretty drink!!! Fun! ..I was sick on the couch all weekend :(

Love the pics! What picture app do you use?
Reply
Jessica — August 22nd, 2011 @ 7:26 am
I use multiples on each photo – instagram, camera+, snapseed, idarkroom.

Jessica, your weekend looked fun but there were two meals in there with vegetables. I think I even saw peas in one of those photos! i don’t know… there seems to be a lot of vegetables and a lot less bacon on this site…=)
My weekend consisted of Food trucks, Wii and farmers markets. It was fun but I think with the puppy, your weekend takes the cake!
Reply
Jessica — August 22nd, 2011 @ 8:51 am
Hahah don’t worry – you saw peas in the PORK BELLY FRIED RICE. Best dish ever! :)

As far as your weekend, looked much better than mine. In fact, I think your weekend looks down right amazing.
The first picture is so cool with the clouds, it looks almost like a painting on special paper. What app did you use for that?
