Now that we’ve established that I’m a total beauty product junkie, I’m going to tell you about my favorite lip gloss. I am a gloss girl all the way – I haven’t worn actual lipsticks in years… possibly never alone?… but I do have a few MAC lipsticks that I think are pretty. It’s just that once they touch my lips… I want to hurl.

I have stuff on my lips 24/7. Like… always. Get me? I ALWAYS need to have gloss on my lips. Funny enough, my husband is the exact same way (though don’t you dare call it lip gloss because he only uses the unflavored Chap Stick) and I found it to be a huge red flag the first time he picked me up and there were SEVEN (yes seven) Chap Stick’s in the console of his Jaguar. That was… interesting.

Makes for a great stocking stuffer though.

This is what I put on my lips every night before going to bed. I adore it.

I use it a few times during the day if needed, but I find lipgloss in pots to be a pain because then you need to wipe your finger on something. Pretty sure the carpet of my childhood bedroom is covered in pink sparkles, FYI.

I also use the Blistex DCT and the Carmex squeeze tube, and occasionally steal one of my husband’s lipglo…. I mean Chap Sticks. But those are a little plain and I need some flava. I like Philosophy as well, but find it to be a little too sticky for my liking.

As for color, I’m a sad, sad sucker for MAC. Over 10 years ago I was hooked on their Lip Glass, but have since moved on to their Dazzle Glass, which I love even more. It has a little sparkle (but not too much) and it’s super glossy… and I’ve probably tried every single color they offer.

Obviously the holiday limited edition collections are often the best, and therefore impossible to find. I also have a few Plush Glasses but don’t love them quite as much.

Like perfumes, I’ve spent most of my life rarely buying the same lip color twice because that’s just… boring. I always want to try something new and exciting. But I’m on tube #4 of this color – Rags to Riches – which is huge for me. I get more compliments on this color than I’ve ever got on any others.

And even better, it’s really light which means I can highlight my eyes in smokey blacks, blues and purples, wear waaaay too much makeup and look like a lady of the night. Sweet. I’ve also dabbled in Nars lip glosses (to match my blush), Chanel, Buxom, Lorac and Dior. But when it comes to color, texture and even taste(!), I always go back to MAC as my tried and true.

So spill it… what’s on your lips? Besides a drop of wine or cookie crumbs.

If I don’t have at least 2 tubes of Carmex (Cherry flavored, to be exact) near me at ALL TIMES I have a mild to severe panic attack. It’s intense. I even sing Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” but replace it with “‘Mexual Healin’” when I’m putting it on sometimes… Have I said too much?
And when I want color I’m a Buxom girl, all day. There’s actually one called “jessica”, and wouldn’t you know, it’s my favorite.

I love lip gloss, but as a typical college kid that either leeches off her dashing roommate’s cooking or makes a really good recipe to live off of for over a week, I am sad to say that own very few. I do have a favourite though, and it’s a gloss/perfume-roller combo. The gloss is a neutral peach colour and I find that it goes with just about every item of clothing (optimal). Love posts where we get to see your other non-foodie side.

I recently bought C.O. Bigelow’s lip butter and I’m loving it. More than not I wear MAC’s lip conditioners…especially at night. I grew up wearing Carmex, to survive the Mid-West’s winters, until I learned it actually dries your lips out..no more for me ;)

Yeah, Carmex (cherry) or Burt’s Bees are my basics. I always have CO Bigelow with me. I will now try MAC because you said so. I have tried so many… as to be ridiculous. If it’s pretty and sparkly and fits me mood at the time, it’s mine.

I’ve been using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter for years…it looks like a glue stick but it’s the best. If I’m going for a run or need long-term moisture, I use the Palmer’s and then top it with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Cream Protectant. For gloss, my current favorite is a Fresh Sugar Lip Gloss that I was given. I’m not sure what color I have, but it’s amazing. I also love Lancome Juicy Tubes. This is one of my favorite things to talk about!

I love EOS Lip Balms for use during the day, and at night I slather on Alba Un-Petrolleum Jelly (it’s Vaseline, minus the nasty petroleum). For color, I am obsessed with Revlon’s new Lip Butters. They’re a cross between a lipstick and a lip balm, which is perfect for me since I generally hate lipsticks. I’ve never used MAC lip products… will have to give Dazzle Glass a try.

I’m a lipgloss whore as well hehe. Last time I cleaned out my purse I had 7 or 8 in there – it can be a bit of a problem when you’re trying to get your little baggie packed for a flight! If I’m looking for some good ol’ moisturizing at bedtime or during the workday, I love Burt’s Bees lip balms, but when I’m going out and want something that’ll get noticed I LOVE Smashbox Reflection – you can get it at Sephora. It’s super glossy ~ and a little sticky ~ but I can put up with that because I get tons of compliments everytime I have it on!! I also love the Gap holiday lip balms – Apple Pie is Ah-maz-ing scent and flavour-wise!

Well my absolute fav is Carmex Strawberry, I have about 5 around the house and 2 in my purse, now for those evenings where I want a bit of sparkle I used to have a squeeze tube of Victoria’s Secret lip gloss, but sadly on my way to class last week I dropped it into a NASTY oil slick puddle… :( Now I have to go get another… I stay with colors closet to my natural lip, anything else I think looks weird on me. As for makup, almost never. If I’m wearing makup, its mineral makup and hardly any at that.

Aveeno and Nevea works really well for just the stuff to keep your lips from getting chapped/dry. Now if you want that extra something, then I definitely do bath & body works or Victoria’s Secret (if they’re on sale…I refuse to spend 7.50 on lipgloss, so I usually stock up when there’s a sale going on!) For Xmas last year my wonderful mother bought me SEVEN different kinds of lipglosses.

Oh I have been a chapstick addict since the 8th grade when I got a horrible cold that resulted in terribly crusted, chapped lips. Ever seen Napoleon Dynamite? I have ACTUALLY called my mom to bring my chapstick to school. “My lips are freaking burning.” I like cherry chapstick, CO Bigelow was my first addiction ( all the way back to the 8th grade), and Lip Smackers of course. Some chapsticks are super drying to me, Softlips for sure! As far as favorite lip gloss I L O V E LORAC Tie Dye For Gloss in Flaming Mix. Best red, EVER! Super luxurious with a subtly sweet scent. Rimmel stay glossy in Timless Allure and Nonstop Glamour are super lovely shades and CHEAP. Unfortunately their odd smell gives me a migraine! Weird right? Yes, but not the first make-up smell to induce headaches for me. I’m seriously a freak when it comes to smells. When I was pregnant my husband could not have ketchup (catsup?) anywhere near me. Well, I win, longest comment ever.

I THINK the shop I bought it from is the only one in the world that stocks it (Selfridges here in London), but before it came out I used to use the cocoa butter Vaseline, and that’s even sweeter. i’m not a giant lipgloss fan. mostly because i tend to buy ‘em and lose them within about 30 seconds…yeah i’m one of those people. anyyway i did find these super amazing chapsticks last week in a children’s store of all place while i was picking up a christmas present for my nephew – it’s called a la mode by crazy rumours (?) i don’t know but it’s apparently cruelty free and vegan (not something i realized i needed to be concerned about when buying chapstick, ohmygod i’m rambling) ANYWAY the thing that attracted me were the flavours – mint chocolate chip and banana split. i obviously got one of each and have been obsessed ever since. SO good.
I love MAC too, although I haven’t made the switch off the lipglass yet…i’m very much a clear gloss kind of girl. but maybe you’ve inspired me to put a little dazzle in my life.

And I thought I was the only one with this problem! haha.

My favorite is Burt’s Bees. I don’t think they’re boring because there are sooo many flavors to choose from. My most recent find and current reigning favorite is the Pink Grapefruit flavor. I’m sure that I’m using too much of it because it tastes so good that I keep licking my lips. Before that was the pomegranate flavor. My other go to is Smith’s Rosebud Salve which now conviniently comes in a tube to keep my fingers clean and unsticky.

Scattered within purses and makeup pouches I own are also MAC Lip Glass, Dior gloss, Khiels lip balm (pear and mango are my favorites) and more Burt’s Bees.

I bought some Revlon lip sticks in varying shades of red and pink when they were 50% off but I don’t like the dry texture of them. Lip stains are another issue. I got the Laura Mercier stain in Mulberry, loved it at the store but not so much when I got home and I can’t get it to last that long either. The colors gone from my lips in a couple hours. Thankfully, I’ve always got something else for backup.

I AM THE SAME WAY. If I don’t have something on my lips AT ALL TIMES I’m a freak. Like, the other night I met some girls for a happy hour and discovered that I left my lip gloss bag AT HOME. I freaking panicked. I got sweaty, nervous, had absolutely no idea how to even HAVE A NICE TIME. I asked this girl that I JUST MET if I could borrow hers. I did. I really really did.

Oh, but to answer you – Burts Bees! That and this Loreal brown glossy stuff that rawks my face off.

p.s. sorry about the CAPS problem. I need to settle down.

This is why I love blogs. I am going to go buy this exact lip gloss just because you said so. I haven’t found a gloss I’ve loved – ever.

I, too, started reading this post and had to reach for the standby on my desk – Rosebud Salve. I love it! I also use it on my cuticles and the backs of my hands during the day. I love CoverGirl LipSlicks! Can’t believe no one has mentioned them. I also have the assortment that many others mention – Smashbox, Buxom, MAC (Enchanted), Neutrogena. But the LipSlicks are my fave because they’re not sticky, they feel like regular lip balm, and the color can be dark enough (depending on which you choose) to pass for lipstick at this place where I have to wear suits everyday and look put together.
