Now that we’ve established that I’m a total beauty product junkie, I’m going to tell you about my favorite lip gloss. I am a gloss girl all the way – I haven’t worn actual lipsticks in years… possibly never alone?… but I do have a few MAC lipsticks that I think are pretty. It’s just that once they touch my lips… I want to hurl.

I have stuff on my lips 24/7. Like… always. Get me? I ALWAYS need to have gloss on my lips. Funny enough, my husband is the exact same way (though don’t you dare call it lip gloss because he only uses the unflavored Chap Stick) and I found it to be a huge red flag the first time he picked me up and there were SEVEN (yes seven) Chap Stick’s in the console of his Jaguar. That was… interesting.

Makes for a great stocking stuffer though.

This is what I put on my lips every night before going to bed. I adore it.

I use it a few times during the day if needed, but I find lipgloss in pots to be a pain because then you need to wipe your finger on something. Pretty sure the carpet of my childhood bedroom is covered in pink sparkles, FYI.

I also use the Blistex DCT and the Carmex squeeze tube, and occasionally steal one of my husband’s lipglo…. I mean Chap Sticks. But those are a little plain and I need some flava. I like Philosophy as well, but find it to be a little too sticky for my liking.

As for color, I’m a sad, sad sucker for MAC. Over 10 years ago I was hooked on their Lip Glass, but have since moved on to their Dazzle Glass, which I love even more. It has a little sparkle (but not too much) and it’s super glossy… and I’ve probably tried every single color they offer.

Obviously the holiday limited edition collections are often the best, and therefore impossible to find. I also have a few Plush Glasses but don’t love them quite as much.

Like perfumes, I’ve spent most of my life rarely buying the same lip color twice because that’s just… boring. I always want to try something new and exciting. But I’m on tube #4 of this color – Rags to Riches – which is huge for me. I get more compliments on this color than I’ve ever got on any others.

And even better, it’s really light which means I can highlight my eyes in smokey blacks, blues and purples, wear waaaay too much makeup and look like a lady of the night. Sweet. I’ve also dabbled in Nars lip glosses (to match my blush), Chanel, Buxom, Lorac and Dior. But when it comes to color, texture and even taste(!), I always go back to MAC as my tried and true.

So spill it… what’s on your lips? Besides a drop of wine or cookie crumbs.

Lancome Juicy Tubes. I’ve been wearing these things for years. I’ve tried branching out but my problem is that I have a hard time finding lip gloss that’s not “sticky” feeling. I’ll have to try MAC.

Otherwise, I’m a huge fan of Rosebud Salve.

I am addicted to Carmex in a tube/stick. I have it in every purse, room, drawer, car, bag,…I have about 10 tubes going at any one moment.

And MAC. I have more Mac than the Mac store. And I’m kinda not kidding. I have a PPID discount so it’s even easier to justify buying it :) I love Dazzleglass too but I am so very, very loyal to Lipglass in Prrr. I have tubes of that stuff…..everywhere, too!

Averie, I have the PPID card too. I have thought about posting a pic of my makeup stash on Instagram but I am kind of embarrassed by it. If it wasn’t for that discount I definitely WOULD NOT own so much MAC. I couldn’t afford it!

LOL, my entire blog revolves around lip products. i’m a MAC monster…my all-time favourite beauty product, anywhere, is Bombshell lipstick(i know, frost finish and all! im a mess!). its the best. i reallllly like the awkward(prized)collection of flavor-savers balm that my mom got from avon over the early 90′s. the pineapple one went out of production in like the late 80′s but i love it. <3

I worked for MAC for years and had every color made…and then some. Since leaving I have gone back to dabbling in lots of other brands, but love Dior’s 001 and 002 the best. I have NEVER, EVER bought two of any lipgloss, but just bought new ones of each of those. I also love Buxom for something tingly during this season and Chanel glosses are always great too. I used to put Rosebud Salve on my lips every night (it was very LA when I lived there), but my Colorado days now have me putting on vanilla bean Badger lip balm. It does the trick! (Now, let’s talk hand cream!)

Yep. Complete lip product whore here as well. Because I live in Colorado, I wear Chapstick 24/7 underneath everything else. (When I was younger I was also a LipGlass groupie. I used to wear it over the top of BRIGHT reddish-pink lipstick and was known as “glossylips” for years because of it. :P )

My favorite lipcolor of all. time. was made by Olay, during the very short time that they sold make-up. It was called Black Cherry and it was PERFECT. The color was so saturated that I always had at least *some* color on my lips, even when the rest of the lipstick ickiness had rubbed off. It was my dream lipcolor. I then moved to a MAC lipcolor that is now retired, sadly, but it was also bright reddish-pink. I have run through dozens and dozens of other lipcolors and brands trying to find the perfect lipcolor…one that is intensely saturated and will practically stain my lips but won’t dry them out. Right now I’m using a L’Oreal color that does the trick, but it’s no Olay.

Sexy Mother Pucker — it’s tingly and has the best name! The sales girl at sephora was really good — I had smoky eyes that day and she came up to me and said I had to try it. She put the champagne pink color on me and that was it. I left the store with something other than the gel eyeliner I went in for…

I currently have three glosses in rotation that I love.

I put on Jouer’s Lip Enhancer in the morning and before bed. I wear Be Fine’s gloss all day, and then Rosebud Salve if I can’t track down the Be Fine, or if I want a little color. I have some lipsticks that I wear to go out, but 90% of the time, I’m using my glosses.

Burt’s Bees. Either the original peppermint (I love the tingle!) or honey variety in a tube, so you don’t have the finger-wiping problem, like you say. I like their lip shimmer as well, but the lighter ones tend to feel a bit gritty – it’s like you can feel the actual particles of glitter in them, so I prefer the darker shades. And for out and about – stila lip gloss. Love.

I have tubes of Burt’s Bees Original EVERYWHERE–a tube at work, three tubes in my makeup bag in my purse, a tube by my bed, and a tube in each of my Vera Bradley tote bags. I have been addicted to some kind of lip balm since I started playing clarinet in middle school forever ago. I find myself buying tubes of it in the checkout line at the grocery store. I will have to try the MAC lip gloss. I love their lipstick, but I wear lipstick so infrequently that a tube will last 1 – 2 years. I currently have L’Oreal lip gloss, which I like, but the colors are very limited.

BTW, the muffins from the e-mail sound wonderful!

Cannot fall asleep without a 1/2 inch layer of Reg. tubed Carmex on my lips

For 10 years, I collected MAC lip glass. I seriously think I had 70% of the colors. I even thought about purchasing the stand that spins from a MAC store to display them in my bathroom.

I have been (for 2 years now) in love with BUXOM lipgloss – in all colors – with a few mentionables : Dollie, Trixie and Candy. if you are a lipgloss/lipglass lover – you would be doing yourself an injustace not to buy a tube today!

Burt’s Bees. That’s all. I try to wear tinted lip gloss on occasion, but I always get frustrated when it ends up on my water bottle/glass or my hair gets blown into my face…which inevitably happens within the first 30 seconds of wearing it. So, Burt is my main man/gloss.

I use Gabby (a medium plum) the most but I have many of the colors that I love!! I also use Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lip gloss. It is very moisturizing and it stays on well. I love Midnight Cowboy (sparkly nude) for everyday and Red Light (a nice red) for when I want something a bit more.

Day to day, when I’m just chilling at home I go for rosebud salve. I have the strawberry flavour from Sephora and the plan stuff from Bath and Body Works. When I’m at work/ school I go for the combo of MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Scant and Vanillamint lip shine from Bath and body works as well.

When I’m studying, the pot of coconut butter lip butter is delish!!

Neutrogena makes some fine cheap glosses, though I do like me some Buxom as well. BUT for really dry lips, NOTHING works like Jack Black. It’s actually for MEN (Mr. How Sweet stocking stuffer?), but I love the stuff. Comes in good flavors like mint, grapefruit, etc. Get it at Sephora. Seriously the best stuff ever.

Haha I love your post. We all have our favorites and preferences when it comes to lip color, balms, glosses, etc. Those MAC glosses look so pretty I might have to get one! I use the Pomegranate Burt’s Bee’s “chap stick” obsessively. In fact that is usually all I wear. In high school I used to wear lipstick, in college I wore gloss, but once I hit my late twenties for some reason I can’t be bothered. I feel like glosses either come off immediately or my hair gets stuck in them, ew. I wear eye makeup almost every day, and when I go out I wear even more – but still stick with the Burt’s Bees pomegranate lip balm. Kind of weird haha.

I have some random brands in my lipstick/lipgloss tackle box but the majority is all MAC. I love the colors and texture. I have some NARS, Stila, Lorac, Revlon, etc. but they always bother me in some way. Either they put a weird taste in my mouth or they are too sticky or cakey. MAC never seems to let me down. The holiday glosses are so fun to get at this time of year, but you are right when they are gone…they are GONE!

Have you tried MAC’s perfume Turquatic? It smells so good! My sister and I are addicted to its clean and fresh scent. They briefly discontinued it and we were devasted. Then they brought it back with new packaging but sadly it seems to always be sold out. So close, yet so far to be reunited again!

I’m a fan of the MAC lipglass, but have yet to try the Dazzleglass. I agree with a previous comment-I HATE the brush style.. I MUST have the sponge tip applicator. (Can put it on without a mirror).

Did you get the Coconut butter at B&BW? I know they carry Bigelow products. I also like Avon Glazewear, but it’s like the WORST for horrible additives, so I had to stop using it. I also like the Korres lip butters-but have the same pink sparkly carpet problem in my CAR!!! LOL.

If I could only pick one forever…it would be Buxom:) Not too sticky! LOVE this.

On my desk at work and in every bag I own I have a tube of Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm. Of all the balms I’ve tried its my favorite – its the perfect weight, stays put, is not sticky at all and the flavors aren’t too overpowering.

On the color front I have a TON of smashbox lipglosses in everything from sheer to opaque that are my go to glosses. I’ve heard good things about the MAC glosses and use their eye color but its such a PAIN to go to Macy’s when every other makeup product I buy is at Sephora…I think I have something like 1500 points on my Sephora card. A few different things…
-Love the Aquafina lip gloss. Especially the mixed berry stuff. It’s cheap, but it feels great. That’s what I put on before going to bed.
-Sometimes I’ll use mint Blistex. It’s nice if your lips have gotten windburned (living in a very windy, cold part of Canada, that often happens).
-My favorite is Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping gloss in Prune by Soap & Glory. Maybe it’s Canadian only? Splurged on a tube of this stuff once and have loved it since. You put it on and your lips begin to tingle a bit, then in a matter of seconds, you have these gorgeous, full, voluminous Jessica Rabbit type lips. The only downfall is that it’s a bit too sticky. When it’s done, I cover it with my Aquafina stuff so that my hair doesn’t stick in it. LOL.
