Tuesday Things.
1. I have drank (drunk?) the Jennifer Lawrence koolaid. In all fairness to me, I really loved her waaaaay before the Oscars, which probably began when my husband forced me to watched the Hunger Games months ago (he has a weird obsession?) and peaked last week when we went to see Silver Linings Playbook. OMG. I can’t even take how much I love that movie. And her.
2. Oh and this video clip of her post-Oscar interview is incredible. Giant girl crush. Also was dying over her run-in with Jack Nicholson. Barf, but hilarious.
3. Speaking of the Oscars, I just have to say… Mr. Clooney, now that I am 30 and apparently in the age range that is appropriate to date you, please shave your beard. I do not like facial hair – at least not that much. Thank you.
4. On Sunday, my cousin and I had brunch and ordered three breakfasts. For two of us. And… we ate every bite.
5. Yep, and that is coffee up there. Some of you on instagram thought it was tea? I will occasionally cross to the dark side and have coffee with tons of cream and sugar but tea? Never. No interest in drinking dirty water. Uh huh.
6. Can we all just agree that the McDonald’s fish commercial this year is not funny? Can’t they just bring back that stupid fish that sings on the wall so we can all complain how annoying it is? I sort of miss it.
7. Do you have any idea how freaking excited I am that it’s the end of the month again? Because it means that I get to do new beauty + food favorites post this week, and I’ve been waiting for four whole weeks to tell you about stuff. I might have to do something at the half way point from now on because I have no patience for this once-a-month crap.
8. You guys know how I’ve sort of been on a bean burger kick the last year? It mainly stems from my love of all things burgers, but please… look at this ultimate loaded veggie burger. I, the person who doesn’t even like veggies, am dying. It’s unreal.
9. The pile of laundry that needs folding and is sitting in front of my face is absolutely, obnoxiously enormous. I want to show you a picture but I am utterly horrified. Will I ever grow out of this stage? I’m serious.
10. Thoughts on this week’s Girls episode? Ummm. Don’t really know what to say, besides Jessa breaking my heart. And I REALLY miss Adam. Weird? Except I can totally relate to the first scene where Hannah mentions her worst nightmare being her parents picking her up late as a child. Uh, this was my life. I’ve written before about how my mom would be super late picking me up from dance class, and this was not good for a first born, high-anxiety, worrisome pretween. It scarred me for life, but maybe in the best way possible since I’m now 15 minutes early for EVERYTHING. Like, embarrassingly early. I’m not cool to begin with and this makes it a million times worse.
11. I fiiiiiinally updated my weekly menu at the bottom of the page. Last week I told you that I had barely cooked dinner for 2-3 months and well, hence my lack of updating the menu. Fail. I think I’m going out to dinner tonight. Double fail.
12. There is a little bit of winter left here and while I’m relishing it by living in boots and scarves (no really, I might have an infinity scarf hoarding issue), I’m also going to partake in a bit of this tequila hot chocolate. Join me.

OMG ditto on parents picking you up late and giving you a “i have to be early” complex! Me tooooo!
I totally agree with you about Jennifer (see, first name basis!). She looks like such an awkward sweetheart, which is what all of us are, right?
Also, YES to veggie burgers. So delicious!

I am excited for the EOM because that means we are that much closer to SPRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNG.
so excited.
we had tequila hot cocoa in Mexico last year. I gave it the side eye… until I tried it. We went back to that cafe three more nights in a row. Then when we moved on up the coast, took a taxi back down for one more…

Have you seen this with the Jennifer Lawrence Oscar faces? Love herrrrr.
hahah YES! i wanted to link that one too but, like… 3 j law links seemed a bit obsessive.
I love Jennifer Lawrence too!! Both videos you posted I have watching about 100 times each! What a gal! Also LOVE Hugh Jackman running over to help her from her fall! What a guy, he could help me any day!
I am SO excited for your end of the month post too! I save up my money for when you list comes out. I want to thank you, I finally got Cookie Butter from TJ and had it on apple slices last night… to die for! I gave my husband my last piece and he FREAKED!! Now that will be the snack for the week.
These things are great. Especially:
1. I, too, have become obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence. And the Hunger Games. I wish I weren’t at work so I could watch the video of her post-Oscar interview right now.
9. I feel like there is always a basket of unfolded laundry somewhere in my house, and I always find a way to avoid it.
10. Recently fell in love with this show. The writing is hilarious, and Lena Dunham is my new hero. I miss Adam too. But I have a strong feeling he’ll be back. He’s the Mr. Big, after all.
I can’t remember how I found your blog but it showed up on my FB stream today I’m happy it did! Have a great Tuesday.
I feel the same about Jennifer Lawrence. It’s like a physical pain how much I want to be her best friend.
I watched the Jennifer Lawrence interview like 5 times, I love her!
I’m totally girl crushing on Jennifer Lawrence too. K-Stew totally had the potential to have the young charm of her, but J-Law is just going to leave her in the dust, imo! I’m very opinionated about young Hollywood, apparently.
I didn’t watch the Oscars this year (FAIL) but I love Jennifer Lawrence too. She seems to be having fun even when falling to accept her award…totally love that!
My cousin and I were ALWAYS the last ones to be picked up from dance class – like my dance teacher would have the doors locked and would be sitting on the stoop with us. My mom and/or aunt were never once on time which is why I was SO excited when my brother got his driver’s license and would pick us up from summer dance classes perfectly on time.
Also PS I used to get severe anxiety by how slow my uncle would drive anywhere. He would smoke his cigarette and take his time and stop exceptionally long at stop signs and such. Drove me crazy.
New Rule: number of brunch plates of food always has to be greater than number of persons sitting at the table
Yessss to the more frequest beauty posts!!!! Love when you do them!
Have you seen Tiny Furniture? Weird Lena Dunham movie on Netflix, and Jessa and Ray are in it. :)
I have those glasses, and I love them. Come to think of it, they would be perfect for that tequila hot chocolate. That’s totally happening.
Did you see Jennifer on the red carpet with Seacrest?? She was doing the mani-cam and then told Emma Stone to “Suck It.” It was a planned joke between her & Stone, but still pretty funny.
2) I think everyone who didn’t already love J-Law fell in love with her after the Oscars. That post-Oscar interview clip had a large majority of my Facebook friends wanting to date her, be bffs with her, or both. Also, that run-in with Jack Nicholson? Hilariious!
3) Fun fact: beards may actually improve men’s health and help them age better, I read about some sort of study on it last week.
6) I HATE the new fish commercial. I want to change the channel every time it comes on. (Print ads for those stupid fish bites are obnoxious too.)
That veggie burger recipe sounds really good…but my all time veggie burger is still at Kaya (they do a fried egg, too!)
Silver Linings Playbook is just soooo good! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I can’t wait until it comes out on DVD so I can watch it over and over again. I just love that she tripped. She had an issue at the Globes too when she went up to accept the award, her dress started to come apart. It’s just so something that would happen to me. Also, she loves food. What is there NOT to love about her?!!
JLaw is awesome…because she’s from KY!! haha Of course I think so :) No, we will NEVER grow out of putting laundry off for too long and then HATING it. I do it every week. I’m also working harder on not being early to everything. i feel like such a loser when that happens.
I miss Adam too! And Shoshanna…she’s so endearing, and just my favorite!
Also…if you don’t want bearded George Clooney, I’ll gladly take him off your hands :)
When I was somewhere in my thirties, I made a resolution at the new year to keep up with my laundry…no more pulling from the dryer, no more wrinkled piles on the floor and no more baskets of folded clothes that never got into drawers. I have kept up with that resolution, so yes, you probably will grow out of it!
I agree with more beauty posts– love them!
#1 – YES. love. #4 – I love that fries were served with your breakfast. You know I love me some breakfast. #8 – <3 #9 – I have no problem folding, it's the putting away that kills me. Our spare bed is basically our closet. #10 – Meh. Not really sold on this season. Another really strange episode.
Dirty water? Harsh. But I forgive you ;)
I’ve drunk it too…she’s just so cute and seems like a normal hiding among all the crazies. How funny were those journalists asking her afterwards if she’s “peaking too soon”? Loved her reaction.
You need to see Winter’s Bone. You will love Jennifer Lawrence even more. And how is she only 22 by the way?
ok jack is still SO the man, love him. and jennifer l. was so genuine and cute. i now understand your obsession with her. i need to see SLP this weekend. if i can ever stay awake past 9pm that is….
Neeed more beauty posts on here! Also, the infinity scarf hoarding issue is not a stranger to me either.
Kind of embarrassing to admit but you know when your laundry is only SLIGHTLY damp that you really could just lay it out to air? Well, sometimes I run it through the dryer for a little while longer just to delay the folding/putting away process, even if it’s only for a few more minutes. Lame.

I loved Silver Linings Playbook as well! Jennifer Lawrence is amazing and yeah, Jack Nicholson is way too old for her.
Oh my word … cute video. What a great role model for aspiring young actresses. (Except for the shot part.)
i didn’t even watch the Oscars but I’ve seen every J-Law clip. In imagination land we are totally bff’s. Oh and I’m dating Ryan Gosling and I live in Capeside. Whatevs.
I can’t wait to see Silver Linings Playbook!
I haven’t watched this weeks Girls yet so I had to skip that entire paragraph. lol
Hahaaa I definitely could write about half of these things as well. I’m up to my ears in the biggest girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence…I feel like she has no facade at all, she’s totally honest and I love her!!!!
And anytime my breakfast-obsessed husband and I go out to brunch (which is regularly) if there’s no combo-style option (think pancakes+meat+eggs) then we order three meals and eat pretty much all of it. To the chagrin of my skinny jeans. Ha.
these never fail to make me smile!! thanks for posting tuesday things.
So excited for the beauty post. Do you subscribe to Birch Box? I just heard of it (am I late to the party? That’s not uncommon)…I want to subscribe, but I’m worried that I won’t actually get stuff I like. I need someone I trust to tell me if this is a good way to spend my money!
i do… i’m honestly not really much of a fan… maybe i’ll mention that tomorrow in my post!
Duly noted. Maybe I’ll just buy myself a pair of shoes instead…
I am totally girl crushing on Jennifer Lawrence too! She is awesome.
Just incase you haven’t seen this – her best quotes from 2012. Love!

I love your Tuesday posts! I don’t want to be that weird imaginary Internet stalker but I LOVE your blog. I have been reading faithfully every day for a couple of years and it just gets better and better! Some of your recipes are now household favs!
thank you so, so much! that means the world to me.
The end of another month…….
I think your non tea drinking may be the only way we differ. Other than that I’m game for everything you mentioned here. Also, your husband has good taste: Hunger Games, yes!!
jennifer lawerence is a saint! and that veggie burger looks A-MAZING. reminds me of one of my fave veggie burgers at a local restaurant https://foursquare.com/v/frita-batidos/4c9d3301604c76b0f0907e7b/photos
nice!
That laundry? I have now swapped with my cleaning lady. I don’t mind cleaning the bathroom if it means she has time to fold all the laundry. Definitely the best part of her visits!
Long time blurker here, first time commenter. I ranted on my blog today about the Food Porn industry. I just wanted to thank you for being a respectable food blogger. While you do produce excellent soft food porn, I know that your recipes are quality and that I can always trust them to turn out and taste good. Thanks for being someone I can look up to! http://www.thestayathomechef.com/2013/02/food-blogs-and-world-of-food-porn.html#
I’ve been a Jennifer Laurence fan for awhile too: she is definitely her own woman and I love it. And I’m pretty certain I would have a similar freak out around Jack.
i love tuesday things! l’m looking forward to both of the favorites posts!! My !ast trip to trader joes i got almond butter…next trip will get cookie butter.
I love Jennifer too; my hope is that she will really work to remain genuine. It is in her being her age and speaking her mind without a filter that I think we find so charming, and real. I’m glad she is the one who fell; she handled it with aplomb; I’m sure many others in Holly wood would have had to be sedated afterwards. :)
Thanks for including a link to that hot chocolate tequila cocktail on my site. I may be drinking one or ten of those at any given time; you know why. Come join me anytime.
I couldn’t agree with you more about JL! I happened to catch Jimmy KImmel on Monday night and he did a video montage of her from the Oscars. My love affair started after Silver Linings too, but after seeing all those videos, it turned into a full blown crush. So real, right? Like we know her…
I LOVE your food posts (think we share similar stomachs), but can’t wait for your beauty post! BTW – do you Birchbox? I do and LOVE getting random beauty samples monthly. Let me know if you need an invite :)
I just had an A-HA moment!! I figured out why I am early to everything!! My mom was late (and forgot to pick me up a couple of times) too!! I am 40….and just figuring this out! ha!!
LOL Jennifer Lawrence is so funny she is so real!! Those questions they were asking her were ridiculous.
I think you are the real life version of Jennifer Lawrence :-) She is super cool!
Oh my goodness I am so in love with her lately! Especially after I saw that Oscar video! I saw it the other day and thought it was so hilarious I saved it and made my boyfriend watch it when he got home from work….he clearly did not see as much humor in it as I did! I think she is so amazing! Such a girl crush I got going on!
