Movie Theater Candy Chocolate Bark.
… popcorn obsession continues.
But this time, I chocolate-glued it with tons of other candy. Wrong? So right.
And you can use whatever candy your little heart desires. I’m a bit partial to goobers (because I used to get them with my grandpa when we went to the movies) and sno-caps (my tween drug of choice, dumped in a bag of hot popcorn), so I threw in some salty peanuts and sprinkles. Eh, and a few rainbow sprinkles. I haaaad to. Can’t help it. You cannot expect me to use sprinkles and simply stick to plain, boring white nonpareils. Who do you think I am?
This is my final fun, snacky movie-inspired recipe I’m sharing to pair with Pavan Liqueur and later this week, we’ll be going to the Nantucket film festival together to share cocktails and snacks. Seriously cannot wait. [Fair warning: I might instagram my face off.] And I paired this candy chocolate hybrid with one of their signature champagne-like cocktails: Pavan, prosecco and a lemon wedge – what a treat. Perfectly simple because who doesn’t love chocolate and bubbles?
Last week I also got to try Pavan mixed with Perrier and it was so refreshing. It’s definitely my new summer drink. Like white wine with a little kick! I seriously can’t wait until it is available in every city because I’m dying for you… my fellow white wine lovers, to try it. It just makes me feel like I am relaxing on the beach and wearing a cute 1950s swimsuit and am morphing in Bridget Bardot. Let’s make that happen.
Movie Theater Candy Chocolate Bark
Ingredients
- 16 ounces of your favorite milk or dark chocolate
- 1 1/2 cups buttered + salted popcorn
- 1/3 cup gummy bears
- 1/4 cup reese’s pieces or m&m’s
- 2 tablespoons salted peanuts
- assorted sprinkles…
- + any of your other favorite movie candy!
Instructions
- Line a small baking sheet with a sheet of aluminum foil, then place a sheet of parchment paper over it.
- Melt 14 ounces of the chocolate, either in the microwave (I do this in 30 second increments, stirring afterwards until it is all melted – be careful, it can burn quickly!) or with a double boiler. Pour the chocolate on the parchment paper and use a spatula to spread it into a square or rectangle. Throw some of the popcorn, candy and sprinkles on top any way you like, making sure they stick. To make the bark quickly, stick the pan in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Melt the remaining 2 ounces of chocolate, remove the pan from the fridge and drizzle it over top. Add any additional candy or sprinkles you’d like, then place back in the fridge for a few minutes to set.

I’m also going to chocolate-glue everything from now on.

That Parvan bottle is the prettiest thing ever! Especially next to that chocolate bark! I’ve never heard of it before, but I think I need it.
Nantucket film festival?!?!?! FANCY!!! Bring on the Instagram, girlie! Can’t wait!
YUM!! Chocolate and PB forever!!! and thrown into popcorn- ridiculous! My favorite movie treat is PB m&ms in my popcorn!
Popcorn, champagne or bubbles of any kind, chocolate, all that trashed up candy thrown in (and I mean that in the best possible way!) and chocolate-glue – I love everything about this!
Yum! So pretty, too. Spotted one typo…the recipe calls for gummy ears : ). Took me a second to figure that one out. Can’t wait to try Pavan!
ha!! thanks – fixed.
You take those trail-mix superfood dark chocolate barks to whole other dimension, haha! It’s funny, I’m such a health-foodie, but your blog is the one gourmet/nonrestrictive/decadent food blog I love to death. Or maybe I just love you, because of how hilarious you are. I totally have the same fantasy about lying on a beach in a 1950s swimsuit.
I feel excited just thinking about this! Nam nam nammm

OMG Yum! My husband love sno-caps. I want the peanut parts. This is a fight waiting to happen.
Wow, this looks dangerous and delicious! What a good idea :) f you ever figure out how to make the 1950’s swimsuits and glamorous cocktails by the pool come back, pass that formula along :).
Dude, you are gonna give me caveties. But, they’re so worth it, no?
Now, if there was a way to incorporate MY favorite movie snack (NACHOS, duh) into this menagerie of yumminess, then you would totally win a Pulitzer for snacks or deliciousness or something. ♥
I love popcorn and especially love junking it up! Thanks for the inspiration! And I had no interest in trying Pavan until now – I cannot say no to bubbles.
I think you could start a well-dressed, highly-civilized, but a llittle bit naughty, cult with the promise of 1950s swimsuits and cocktails by the pool. There are women all over the country just waiting for that to happen!
Have a great time in Nantucket, Jessica!
You must stop posting about Pavan! The jealousy is overwhelming! Have you even seen some of the cocktails they suggests? Grapefruit margarita with Pavan? Can’t even.
I love snowcaps. I love bubbles and beaches and pretty much everything you discussed here. I even think about morphing into glamorous people at the beach. (Why does that never happen?) I’ll keep an eye out for Pavan.
One question concerning the Pavan: How does it taste? I know things like that are hard to describe, but is it sweet or bitter? Can you compare it to sth?
It’s slightly sweet, but not TOO sweet. the best way I can really describe it is as a white wine liqueur – I’d say the perfect balance (for me) between sweet and dry white. does that make sense?? like a pinot grigio liqueur almost, ha. it is made with muscat grapes and orange blossom
that makes total sense! now i know that i have to get it! thank you :)
I love everything about this….. I just ate lunch but my stomach says give me chocolate. And popcorn. and candy. and obviously, wine.
Chocolate & bubbles. Say no more.
I’m there.
Jess x
AmazING! Love all those glued gummy bears, I could eat way too much of this stuff.
This looks too good to be true. From now on, if it isn’t chocolate-glued, I’m not eating it!
This is awesome!
Wow, that’s one delicious looking bard. I’d love a piece right now.
Also how do you store the bark?
OMG you’re going to nantucket?! are you flying? i flew out there last year to make a wedding cake. the plane is itty bitty and they make you report your weight out loud (and you cant lie bc then the plane will go down) and then you line up in size order and they seat you accordingly. i cried. like i legit cried for my life. you’re probably more fun than i am and will be taking pictures and enjoying the view from the toy plane but in case that terrifies you, i wanted to give you fair warning and recommend a few shots of tequila before hand.
chocolate and liquor? Not sure what could pair better with me and a sunday night :)
The bark looks totally scrumptious!
I always love me some chocolate!
chocolate glued movie theater treats!! Oh jessica – I am in love with this!! I love chocolate and salty treats so the popcorn added to the whole jumble is making me giddy. Like, I need to try it ASAP. Gummi bears and sprinkles too – you are my hero :)
Two things.
Only you would drink a liqueur that fancy.
Only you would make bark this outrageously, over the moon & back, good.
P.S. I only had to scroll back up 3 times to make sure I was spelling “liqueur” correctly.
I always make peppermint bark during the holidays but this is so much more fun. What a great way to clean out the pantry too. I can’t wait to create my own concoction. Thanks for the inspiration.
Nom nom :)
Vacation next week! Heading off to Wisconsin Dells (best waterpark resort city in the US!) for several fun-filled nights with the family. I’ve been looking for great snacks to take along, and BAM, here it is!
