Tuesday Things.
1. For the first time in… years? I didn’t get rainbow sprinkled cone on vacation. I’M GROWING UP.
2. Remember a few months ago when I talked about wanting these sunglasses and the vast majority of you told me I’d look ridiculous and if I had any fashion sense at all (which I don’t) that I shouldn’t do it? Well… I found them on sale this past week and – did it.
3. I want to go to this lady picnic and be best friends with them. I just hope I don’t really have to be a lady.
4. My brothers, cousins and I have a long running group text that is so atrocious that it gives me anxiety. Like instead of texting one of them back, I’ll accidentally tweet something horrific. This is my only exception to the group text rule as I generally think they are the most annoying things on Earth. Right next to the “reply all” function on email.
5. If Sookie and Eric don’t end up together by the end of the True Blood series (whenever that may be) I will probably hurt someone. I don’t care about ANYTHING else on that show and haven’t for about three years. Can’t it be the anna paquin/alex s show? Yes yes.
6. Spring garlic pancakes: for some reason I cannot stop thinking about these. Maybe it’s the whole pancake thing.
7. So. It’s quite possible that I have exhausted my buffalo chicken pizza obsession. Well – let me clarify. I haven’t exhausted the buffalo-style infatuation but just the specific pizza we have been getting, like, once a week. I can’t be sure though, so check up on me in seven days.
8. One thing that has not died down though is my burger obsession. Dying over these aloha sliders. So freaking cute and delicious.
9. Because I can’t share enough in my Tuesday things, I’ve started sharing some of my current favorite links on the weekend. Things like food and maybe even makeup and general internet crushes. !!!!
10. Oh look, it’s my life: what it’s like shopping at Sephora.
11. The above is a perfect example of why I make a terrible sales associate. Unless I’m selling something I believe in, like sprinkles or shoes – I just can’t push people to buy something. However, I on the other hand am a marketer’s dream. I want to try all the things.
12. This week’s things are brought to you by a rainbow sprinkle-less photo. My husband is concerned at the amount of sprinkled doughnuts and sprinkled ice cream cones I constantly share. Like as if I might be boring you. What is he? The instagram police?

i totally agree with #5!!!!! although she rescinded her freaking invitation so i think it may be awhile!!! silly girl!!!
Seriously. When she rescinded her invitation I just about freaked out. Now is the time Sookie, get with Eric already!
P.S. I really like those glasses so I totally support the purchase.
P.S.S. I tried the Macadamia Shampoo and Conditioner…. LOVE IT!
NEVER TOO MANY SPRINKLES! EVER! I am worst in retail, too nervous
The burgers look fantastic.
have you read the Sookie books………. if not, you may not be happy with who Sookie ends up with in the books. But the show is going in a whole other directions – so maybe there is still hope for Sookie + Eric !!!
Thanks for the Aloha Burger love! ;)
yes! i know who she ends up with but since they have strayed so much from the books… and since i can’t imagine that the series will go on much longer (just because it’s HBO)… i’m hoping for an eric/sookie finish. unless they find a way to make me hate them together!
I hate group texts, especially the ones that include people that you don’t even know. However, the reply all email can be very helpful at work. No rainbow sprinkled cone? That’s just not right!! ;)
Um, hello! You can never have too many sprinkles on ice cream or doughnuts! Duh, hubby! You should see my pantry. The amount of sprinkles I own is ridiculous. Darn it, Target, and your dollar section sprinkles!
I totally agree about the lady picnic. I want to gooooo. Insert whiny voice here.
I’m so excited you got the glasses! Rock them.
I want to be apart of that picnic! I saw it this morning! So darn cute.
Oh and if you are trying to be “grown up” this week don’t look at my hot fudge sundae cookies I posted today! They are a kids dream.
Is it awful that I DVR True Blood and then fast forward to the parts with Sookie and Eric? We’re in complete agreement on that issue.
Also, I’m with you about the sprinkles on ice cream thing. Even though I’m 28 years old and get strange looks from the teenage workers at Sweet Frog, I’m still going to cover my yogurt with sprinkles. Eating ice cream without sprinkles is like taking a bath without bubbles. What’s the point?
I look like I am 12 but I am sucker for rainbow sprinkles and ice cream.
I must have missed when you said you wanted those sunglasses, but… I HAVE THOSE SUNGLASSES. IN GREEN. And I’ve only received compliments. I also got them on sale about a month ago, on ideeli.com, which, if you are not a member of… you should become one immediately.
haha! a reader sent me a link to ideeli when that was going on and i was so close to pulling the trigger – but hesitant because i had not tried them on yet and they weren’t returnable! love them though. :)
LOVE the Sephora link hahahahah.
And i will never tire of the sprinkle madness.. although it doesn’t help with cravings as we just found out we are expecting and i’m TRYING to eat healthy.. HA!
First off, I love those sunglasses! But this is also coming from someone who posted a pic of himself in a Kelly Kapowski t-shirt and acid-washed denim jacket… but then wouldn’t that make me an expert in wonderful outrageousness?
Secondly, you can NEVER post too many pictures of rainbow sprinkle-covered things. They are scientifically proven to improve one’s mood (science was my least-favorite subject).
Lastly, you and I must be soul-sisters because if anything is packaged to be exceptionally cute/unecessarily attractive, I instantly have to have it. Oh, this bottle of water is only $0.99, BUT this one comes in a glass bottle in a perfect cylinder shape… it’s $3.49?! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!
There is not such thing as too many sprinkles! What is your husband thinking?! He’s trying to be all grown-up and stuff. No one wants to grow up.
I’m a marketer’s dream with “Limited Edition” and “New” items. If either of those are on the box, they’re in my cart. Damn you, Target.
RANT (and it’s not a personal attack on you :-0)
Sookie and Eric, are you serious?! Sookie is the most annoying character on the planet next to whats-her-face on that awesome show Homeland. Sookie and Bill belong together because they are both SO annoying. You have been in the sun to long esp since you had no sprinkles on your ice cream…seriously gurlfriend :-)
hahaha! ;)
I wish Pittsburgh was right by Detroit! That would’ve been so fun if you could’ve come! Plus being the ladiest lady totally wasn’t a rule. :) Ladylike portions totally didn’t happen. ha! And thanks for the love, girl! <3!
I have only had one burger so far this “summer” and seeing those aloha burgers makes me want to start making them for dinner every. night. …too much?
Something doesn’t feel right. I kinda miss the sprinkles!
That is the prettiest picnic I’ve ever seen! Love, love, love it!
Your sprinke-less photo makes me want to lay on a beach and watch the clouds pass by… in your photo I see a creepy face, Falcor from the Neverending Story and a heart.
*Sprinkle-less
Just went to Sephora the other day to RETURN (gasp!) two products that didn’t work out for me. Turned around and spent the refund plus more. Ugh. I did not need a $32 YSL lipstick. But it’s just so soft!
oh i’m curious what you returned!
and agreed.. YSL lipstick is insane. YSL is prob my fave makeup brand.
Owning ANYTHING YSL makes me feel like a grown up, even at 29.
Sadly, I returned the Wild Rose Korres 24 hour moisturizer and the Ole Henrikson Red Tea Foaming wash. I have been trying out some new products for face wash and moisturizer and while they are lovely products, they just didn’t cut it for my uber sensitive skin. The face wash is quite nice though and I thought about keeping it but invested in another that I am liking better by Ormedic. And, though I am a Korrres lover (I even use the sleeping facial cream) the moisturizer just wasn’t enough for my dry/combo skin. In fact, when I went to buy the Korres one, I inquired about the Josie Maran and the salesperson like totally neglected my request! Are you still loving yours?
yes! i still love it to death, however a few people on that beauty post told me it’s being discontinued? maybe that is why – but i’m not sure. i think it will last me forever.
the only thing is – i also have dry skin and am not sure that it will be enough in the winter months? i’ll have to see. maybe if i use the super thick cetaphil cream every single night.
OMG True Blood!! I love Eric so I am totally rooting for Sookie and him to be together in the end. Oh and Bill? He is completely freaking me out this season and there has only been one episode. Gah this is going to be such an incredible season.
And you need to talk about it every week just so my hubby doesn’t go insane listening to me ramble on about it…
Sprinkles are fun, and I would never tire of them. I want those Aloha burgers for my post-run lunch!
you should know, the lady picnic had mostly un-lady-like talk. I only dress like a lady (and only sometimes) and talk like a sailor. I’m with Megan let’s just squish PA and MI together!
also, I want those aloha burgers in my face and keep the sprinkle covered instagrams coming! they make me happy!
Those little baby burgers!! I need one so badly.
Also, chocolate sprinkles. THE BEST. I don’t know why, but I swear they taste better than rainbow.
Chocolate sprinkles are the BEST! LOVE them!
I don’t know what other people are talking about. I am loving those aviators! Mirrored lenses are totally in this season!! Great buy :D
Haha, I love how your husband is patrolling your sprinkle photo posts. Sprinkles are ALWAYS pretty and pretty things are ALWAYS worth sharing.
Wait…where did you find those sunglasses for sallllllleeeee??!!!!
i got them at a small sporting goods store in wildwood! it was a father’s day sale.
Sprinkles and donuts are never boring or repetitive! Keep sharing them proudly! :)
YES! Sookie + Eric forever! I never liked her with Bill! (Although I’m sure they’re a lovely couple in real life. You know, just in case they are reading this and want to invite me over for dinner.)
Cracked up about Eddie’s concern. Sprinkles 4 life, Eddie, duhhh. Also, those sunglasses are ridiculous and you are awesome. Also, where is the photo of you wearing them? Also, did somebody say ERIC????? Ahhhhhhhh.
I LOVE the Sephora link, that is totally me every time I walk into Sephora.
NUMBER 5 omigod. The sexual tension was killing me!!!
You are great! Totally enjoy reading your blog on the daily :)

PS I don’t care what anyone tells you, those aviators are HOT and PPS I know you were describing yourself in #10 & #11 but you accidentally described me too.
#2 made me snort coffee out of my nose.
And want to buy sunglasses that fit over my multi-focal geek glasses.
My 2 best friends and I have a completely offensive group text and my greatest fear is that one day I’ll accidentally respond to my boss or something thinking that its them. OR, you know how your texts just pop right up there on the iPhone screen for the world to see? The screen of the phone that I often leave sitting screen side up on my desk at work… excellent.
Imagine this… my BOYFRIEND loves to shop with me at Sephora! So our visits are pretty insane and lots of fun, but wind up being very expensive. I just wish they carried Lancôme, which has to be my favorite for a lot of the basic stuff.
When I click the link to see the sunglasses, I get pretty flowers? Everyone is talking about how fab they are. I’m missing out!
they are linked in the tuesday things. these are them: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ray-ban-59mm-aviator-sunglasses/3402362?origin=category&contextualcategoryid=0&fashionColor=Blue&resultback=3835&cm_ven=Linkshare&cm_cat=partner&cm_pla=15&cm_ite=1&siteId=QFGLnEolOWg-C30gfBaTy_XbWDn3E1H3DQ
Oh! I see now…it was a ink to a link. My bad. Cute shades.
I couldnt agree more on True Blood. I loved the books but now realizing that the show is going to be nothing like the books. I would love to see Eric and Sookie together, Bill is so…. weird now. I had such a hard time watching the first episode of this season because of him.
After you posted those glasses I got them for my birthday, UGH, awful! I took them back, they were waaaaaay to big for my face. I did love them in the picture and hope they look better on you.
Can we have a unladylike lady picnic?
I am totally onboard with those sunglasses, totally crazy, but I really like them for summer (even though I probably said otherwise on the other post LOL).
And I ALMOST tweeted that Sephora thing to you! Haha! I knew you could totally relate! I am totally a marketers dream too! I am such an impulse buyer…its horrifying the amount of damage I do when shopping!
i was just a tad shocked not to see sprinkles in the first photo and so thankful for some type of explanation…haha… love that sephora link
That Sephora thing is sooo me! :)
#5. That is all.

Hi Jessica! I absolutely love the way you write! Every post I read I find myself agreeing with how you feel about food and how you describe everything..it’s just pure awesomeness! I’ve just recently started my own blog (and by recently I mean yesterday) and I keep on coming back to your blog for inspiration (mine is about dance and beauty products though). Love your recipes too by the way! sooooo many things are already bookmarked..ive just got to start cooking :)
anyways..thanks for being awesome :)
I’m totally on board with those sunglasses! I bought a pair of inexpensive aviators to try out myself this summer. I warned everyone that I would probably be mistaken for one of the Kardashians when I went out in public. My husband and best friend agreed that I looked like someone famous….not a Kardashian, but rather Eric Cartman. As in “respect my authori-tay!” They’re probably just jealous of me. LOL…Love your blog, thanks for sharing with us!
I want to go to that lady picnic too, It is so adorable :)
Me too.
