My favorite makeup time of year is finally here!

Even thought I love some ice cream pastels in the spring and some neon, well… always, fall makeup is by far my fave. I haven’t bit the bullet yet and purchased any new fall makeup (aside from nail polish), because I always like to wait a little and see what kind of holiday gift sets come out from some of the cosmetic lines that I love. I’m also waiting to purchase any new high-end things because in November (I think?), Sephora always has their VIB friends + family sale which is 30% off of EVERYTHING. I want to go crazy.

Because of that, there are a ton of repeats here buuut – it’s what I’m using. These are the things I have grabbed all month and have been partial to, ignoring the majority of my obnoxious and way-to-large makeup stash. Just freaking love makeup so much. It’s like art on your FACE!

So anyhoo.

Nail polish loves. These four colors have been on my nails this month and the third shade on my toes for over three weeks. Which is unheard of since I have nail polish ADD. The two essie shades in the center are new for fall: for the twill of it and cashmere bathrobe. The two loreal shades on the outside have been around (at least I think so?): because you’re worth it and never lacque-ing. I especially love the latter because it runs slightly cool toned so it doesn’t look like my hands are dead when I wear it. Almost a slight purple hue or something? But still really neutral. Love them.

They’ve taken up permanent residence on my dining room table which isn’t weird at all.

Lips lips.

First up, what’s your favorite fall lip color? Even though I love bright berry shades and even darker shades, I don’t wear them too often because I tend to be obsessive about wearing too much colorful eye shadow or playing up my eyes. And apparently doing both is a big no no. So I stick to a lot of my favorite lighter pink shades that I’ve mentioned in previous months, but wanted to mention two fall loves that I dug out last week.

The first MAC lipglass is called decorative, and I bought it last fall when I was talked into buying MAC cyber lipstick. Oh man – cyber is DARK. I am so pale and when I wear it, I look completely vampy. I actually love it and it looks incredible on darker skin, but last year I could only manage it with this gloss over top. So far this year, I’ve been wearing the gloss on it’s own and I really like it. I even tried to get some swatches for you this time, as pathetic as they may be.

The second shade is revlon lipbutter in lollipop. This was one of the first lip butters I bought either last year or the year before. While I don’t reach for it all the time since it’s sheer, this past week I’ve absolutely LOVED wearing it. I think it’s the perfect shade right now – you know, it’s-fall-but-still-hot-as-heck-outside-sometimes.

Still on the lip train, I don’t know if I ever mentioned my love for MOX botanticals lip butter but I know that I’ve pimped it out on instagram. This was the only thing that I’ve ever discovered from birchbox that I’m insanely nuts over. Last year I got the pomegranate one in the box, promptly used it up and ordered this coconut almondine. The tub below is actually empty and I am about to purchase another one.

This is soooo smooth and buttery. I am very particular about lip balm since in general my skin is dry. The only other balms I truly love and repurchase over and over are burt’s bee’s (in original and grapefruit) and dior creme de rose (what I used at night before bed). I’ve had mini love affairs with other balms but they’ve never stuck with me like these three.

This stuff is awesome.

No surprise – I think I’ve only mentioned this like four months in a row.

I’m thinking this will be the last month I will be able to use the dr. jart BB cream because last winter, it was too dark for me. I still have a bit of color leftover from summer right now. I just love this stuff so much. I can never even feel it on my skin. Earlier this month I did use foundation for a photo shoot since I needed something without SPF and it just felt so… heavy. I know I’ve talked about how I’ve never been a foundation person, but this product has made me even less of one. I wish it came in a lighter shade.

I’m also back to using the MAC radiant rose concealer everyday. I’m still getting some use out of my MAC prolongwear, but it is definitely drying under my eyes so I switch back and forth.

Speaking of dry under eyes, I’ve also been back to slathering on my kiehls avocado eye cream every night. I raved about this stuff years ago and just adore it because it’s so simple and moisturizing. It doesn’t do anything crazy like tighter or reduce lines or whatever – it just gives you so.much.moisture. It lasts forever. Many times I also use the teeniest drop under my concealer, but I usually like to use something with SPF for that.

Time for a marathon of eye things.

First, the nars eyeshadow primer. This is the same tube I told you about a few months ago, and it’s actually gone. I’ve kept it around trying to suck the last bit up because I love it so much. However, it’s definitely a love/hate product for me. I’ve decided that I actually love it more than the urban decay primer. I think it works better and creates a nicer base. But the packaging still, for lack of a better word, sucks. It’s such a waste. I can’t get anything out of it and I’m ready to cut the tube open with scissors. I hate wasting product. Why can’t this come in a squeeze tube. ?!?!

It saddens me to say that I haven’t really done any smoky eyes this month, just because I was swamped with work and basically a prisoner in my home. But something I’ve absolutely been loving is the MAC prolongwear paint pot in stormy pink. I’ve used the shade painterly for years, but it’s so nuetral. I don’t see the need to have tons of cream shadows because I really love using a bunch of eye colors at once, but this one is awesome. It also fits in with my love of all things purple. I’ve used it as a base AND on it’s own.

The second shade is urban decay sellout which I’ve talked about all year. I’ve used this shade for years – just all over the lid. It’s been a go-to of mine for-ev-ER. Sandlot style.

I also have thrown in at the very top one of my favorite MAC shades, steamy. It’s a gorgeous green.

Ugh. Now on to the mascara dilemma.

Last month I shared the longest mascara rant ever to exist in the universe. I’m still feeling the same way. However, for the past few weeks I have swamped out the maybelline rocket for my tried and true loreal voluminous. I still don’t wear benefit they’re real on it’s own and it’s still a huge pain to work with if I get just a TOUCH too much product on my lashes. But if I somehow get the magically correct amount? In love.

Fiiiiiiiinally – liners and stuff.

Last month I told you about this smashbox shadowstick and I’m still nuts over it. Love the shade, love the staying power, love it all.

Also used my urban decay mushroom a bunch this month – it’s my current favorite 24/7 liner and I probably own 15 of them.

I’ve used some brown liner this month too – the loreal voluminous smoldering. I used it on top of the MAC cream shadow up above and love it. For as many urban decay liners as I have (which does include some browns), I don’t have one this dark brown and matte. Nice changeup.

Back on board consistently with my tarte exposed blush. UGH! This color. It’s just so perfect – so natural but lighty pink too. And can we just have a moment and stare in disbelief at how long these things last? It looks like I haven’t made a dent it in and while I know I love to change up blushes, this is definitely my most used. It travels with me everywhere and is 100% reliable in color. For me, it’s just the perfect fall shade because it’s neutral enough that I can go crazy with eye color or lip color.

An oldie but goodie – the mint julep mask.

I’m mentioning this because while I’ve used it once every two weeks or so for forever, my husband has been using it all month! He has used it once or twice a week and loves it. It’s so funny. I had it on one night and he’s like, I’m going to try this. So now we do it together and it’s a riot.

You probably have to be there.

In gross news, I feel like this stuff sucks everything out of my pores. I mean, I’ve always thought that but now that somebody else is using it in my presence, he keeps saying the same thing. It’s crazy.

As for hair care, I’m still genuinely in love with ALL of my macadamia products. The oil on the left is something I put on my ends almost every day. Just a little bit. That bottle is the third or fourth that I’ve gone through. BUT! That was when my hair was almost down to my ass (seriously) and this past week, I got about six inches cut off. It’s still past my shoulders (that’s how ridiculously long it was) but it just needed it so badly. It was so long that it wouldn’t hold any curl or volume and I’d never had that problem before. Now, it’s like body central. So voluminous again.

I bought this unite shine mist at my hairdresser earlier this week and I’ve only used it three times, but I really like it. It doesn’t weigh down my hair at all. I’ve had a bunch of unite stuff before (have used the expanda on my roots and lazer straight for years) since he carries that line and enjoy it – mostly styling products. I’ve tried other shine products before and have never liked any. Hoping this sticks!

Hmmm, what else. I’m still using the kenra blow dry spray every time I dry my hair. Seriously cuts the drying time in HALF. Still use the batiste dry shampoo a few times per week. And like I said above, every macadamia product I’ve talked about this year is still in my hair care routine.

I’m still loving the black marc jacobs liner I mentioned last month. Still use the josie maran moisturizer in the day and the korres moisturizer at night. Still constantly use my too faced chocolate soleil bronzer, the tarte brush, the MAC cleanse off oil and the moth pressed pigment. Almost finished up with my josie maran whipped body butter and will be immediately repurchasing – gah, love. And my urban decay naked 2, naked basics and lorac pro palette are always sitting out when I do my makeup, and I almost always grab a little color from one of them.

There are a bunch of things I want to get for fall, like the new nars eye paints, those crazy deborah lippman glitters and the urban decay vice 2 palette. I’m thinking of putting together a little fall wish list with the beauty, fashion and food items I’m craving. Thoughts?
