Tuesday Things.
1. I am so over boot-like shoes and wore the above outside this past weekend like a freak. Yes, my feet got soaked and at one time it looked like I was wearing snow covered pumps. Worth it.
2. Please flip your lid with me over this nutella ice cream in brioche. I know. I don’t even really care for nutella. But THIS! Changing that.
3. We have had so much constant snow and ice that I will drive through anything now. No fear. I will drive in piles of snow or sleet. Maybe it’s the cabin fever getting to me. I’m not scared!
4. Who else is freaking out that Sarah Jessica Parker now has a line of shoes? Oh yeah. I’ll admit it. I’m common enough.
5. You know how last week I mentioned that I absolutely was not listening to the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack all day, every day by myself (without kids)? Well. A bunch of you sent me this link to 24 hours of Happy. 24 hours! And then. It was so stuck in my head that I woke up at 1:30AM to google the lyrics.
6. I used to have quite the collection of Caboodles, all of them mostly pink, of course. Here are 38 things you will never experience again.
7. Um. I’m pretty excited that Girls semi-redeemed itself this week with that episode. Has Shoshanna ever been more amazing? And the DANCE?! gah. And True Detective is killing me. Can I just marry HBO? Why is it so perfect? OH! And the Walking Dead. I get why they are doing what they’re doing and it’s moving slowly, but okay, you can stop now. I was very happy to see a certain someone. Okay, a few certain someones.
8. Now on to the most important thing: House of Cards! We are halfway through the second season and would probably even be further in but have had to exercise a little bit of discipline and actually do things like work. That first episode was nuts. Robin Wright needs to give me a haircut. I’m curious who you are rooting for in the series? Even though I get what they are doing, I’m still soooo on board with Frank and Claire. Why do I want them to succeed?
9. If I was five years younger, I would probably bleach my hair blonde and then dye it light pinkish-purple like I keep seeing all over pinterest. I’ll never get over that.
10. As I was writing this post, I ate a container of what I thought was lime yogurt. I have now come to the realization that it was moldy yogurt. Yep. happy tuesday to me.

#10 made me chuckle. Sounds like we are having a very similar day. Happy Tuesday!
I am actually loving Girls this season! I feel like the characters are really developing now. Although, I could do with more Adam and less Hannah, haha. :)
#3: Yes, growing up in Eastern Michigan I thought I knew snow. Then I moved to West Michigan, WTF!? Also, thank god that Lake Michigan is almost frozen over because that means that lake effect show is almost over, who invented lake effect snow? I hate them.
#4: YES! I saw her on the CBS Morning Show last week (because I am a 64 year old woman apparently) and was swooning over them.
#7: Yes, marrying hbo should be allowed. Then the amount of time I spend with him(/her?) would not seem so obscene.
#8: We are rationing them, but I so cheer for Frank and Claire. a) because I am crazy and b) because I want her closet. But seriously, episode 1?Q?!? and then Claire in episode 2, totally made me cry.
I’m surprised, yet not surprised, to see Hannah in that bikini.
TWD – lovin’ it!! This season is already giving me anxiety, but the good kind!!
Eeew on the moldy yogurt! Girls was amazing! Marnie is ridiculous. I guess they all are. I literally almost died during The Walking Dead when Lizzie got all crazy. Seriously if she had finished what she started I don’t think I could have kept watching. Final thing – please talk me into (or out of) attending Go Blog Social! I’d love to hear you speak but as a food blogger I’m not sure the conference as a whole is the best use of my resources.
hmmm, okay. so last year, i didn’t get to stay for the conference because i was leaving on vacation like 8 hours later and it was sort of a last minute thing. one thing i really like about it is that it isn’t strictly food blog related. it might just be because i’ve been to a lot of those, but i feel like i enjoy conferences focused on other things more – they actually inspire me more. seeing/hearing about food constantly doesn’t necessarily inspire me in the kitchen. it’s more of the outside influences that inspire my recipes, photography, goals, dreams, etc. does that make sense??
i think the main question is what are you looking for in terms of learning? i follow the girls who organize GBS on instagram and it looks like it will be a lot of fun, almost like a mini alt summit. but i totally get what you’re saying. shoot me an email if you want!!
yes! walking dead! so glad someone is alive.. because I would stop watching if they died. I HATE that its soo slow, tho. gah.
Not only doe SJP have her own line of shoes, she also has her own line of cards at Hallmark. And they are fab – naturally!
Best line ever from Shosh…” you guys treat me like a cab driver1″
seriously. was dying.
Oh girl, we are trying sooooo hard not to watch House of Cards all in one night…it’s so good!! And I can’t wait for the SJP shoes…they’ll be fab :)
OMG I had that exact caboodle! Loved my caboodles!
Lol moldy yogurt!!!! Poor you! You watch True Detective too?? It’s amazing isn’t it? I was so sad when I found out that it’ll be a whole new cast for season 2. Like even Woody and Matthew won’t be in the next season. :(
Best Girls episode ever! Simply because of that dance scene. Too cute! However, I did want to strangle Marnie for being such a perfectionist control freak.
Still can’t understand how you can not adore Nutella… It’s like one of man’s greatest inventions. For real, gurl.
You’re the third blogger I’ve read today that talked about House of Cards!
That’s it. I’m watching the first episode on Netflix when I get home.
I wore flats on Saturday; I said to myself “I’m not leaving this (expletive) house in (expletive) boots for more (expletive) day”. Figured if I was going from car to subway which delivers me right to the steps of the arena, then to hell with snow. It was -20C, my feet were ice cubes but it was worth it.
I loved Caboodles!!!! I’m not over wearing boots, but I’m definitely over the cold weather. I see flip-flops in my very near future. ;) Happy Tuesday!
I totally thought that the little green flecks in my grits last night were broccoli. I was wrong, it was mold from the cheese.
I was thinking the same thing today about being sick of snow/rain boots – so I wore heeled booties, not as adventurous as you, but you’ve inspired me to go further with it! I am sooooo excited for SJP’s shoe line and I screeched when I saw her on Jimmy Fallon’s show last night. That Buzzfeed list is awesome and your last “thing” about the yogurt made me literally laugh out loud (I’ve sadly sipped at milk that’s gone a little bad without realizing it, more often then I’d like to admit, ugh!). Happy Tuesday! :)
I’m firmly convinced that you can’t have a bad day if you have “Happy” stuck in your head. My kids and I put it on almost daily and have booty-shaking time ;)
couldn’t agree more with #3…so over winter!
is it just me or is anyone else completely annoyed with how selv-involved hannah is. it’s almost TOO much. ok – we get it, she loves herself in everyway possible…but let’s move on and develop the character a bit more. it’s painful to watch her not care about those around her to this extent and expect everyone to care about her.
other than that – loving this season of Girls!
yes yes and yes. it’s actually a little ridiculous at this point and verging on unbelievable. like how many 25-26 yr olds are that way ALL the time? it’s a bit much.
I am so over boots too, we have a lot on snow in NJ, I can’t wait for spring! This winter was crazy! I just had lemon yogurt, and after #10 I made sure to double check the expiration date, and mold! So far none, I am good!
Love your shoes in the picture above!! They remind me of a pair I got a few weeks ago by Michael Kors in Gunmetal.
True Detective is just SO amazing!
I totally agree with you about the boots! I’m so sick and tired of having to wear boots plus eighteen layers of clothes. I wish I were brave enough to go out in heels like you did!
I have a friend who just died her hair neon pink. She’s 73. Just saying.
Oh dude, that yoghurt. You’re in my thoughts. We’ve all been there. Thanks for the holla back! Plus, I love your shoes and your spirit of determination.
Why not colour your hair just the way you want it? Age is only a perception. Life is too short to have “safe” hair! Plus, you can always colour it back in an instant if you change your mind. (On the other hand, if you love what you have now, then by all means, keep it!)
Much love to you, your blog is my very favourite thing. :D
I’m freaking out over your scarf because it reminds me of that vintage ribbon candy that’s out at Christmas-time. The candy’s nasty, but I heart that scarf/those colors so hard. And the shoes are bangin’, obviously. Way to stick it to winter!
Sometimes I read things on here and think you’re in my head… I too have been infatuated lately with the idea of dyeing my hair pink. I even called around and apparently it’s a bit more expensive than regular hair coloring + it only lasts for a week. A week! Super short term results – washes out so fast. Boo. I still might do it. I’m a 32-year old attorney, but apparently refuse to grow up.
a week?! that’s it?? my hair is so dark that i think it would be more of a process… but it sure it tempting.
Moldy yogurt is rather tart eh? Been there. You’re not alone! I’ve also had moldy cheese, fun.
Blehhh moldy yogurt! Regardless, I am loving those sexy heels!
Oh no to the yogurt!? Just think of all those ‘probiotics’ you ate :) Eek hope you’re not sick by now!
And your shoes. Love them!
And you don’t really like Nutella? What?! :)
I actually just caught up with Girls the other day–and really like it!! Or maybe I’m just thrilled that I don’t have to watch Hannah stuffing q-tip down her eardrums every other episode. I loved Shoshanna’s honesty rant in the last episode!!
Lovely shoes.. do not worry you will wear them soon more often.. spring will definitely come:)
Sometimes just putting on a pretty pair of pumps can completely change your mood! I definitely don’t blame you :)

Oh my gosh, those nutella ice cream brioche buns looks incredible and I love your shoes! Still have not seen Girls, but I need too!
Lime yogurt sounds so much nicer, lets stick with that. That nostalgic list sure brought back memories!
In my house I have:
1. 40 something inch TV
2. I ancient 25 inch TV
3. 1 ancient 21 inch TV
And…….
4. 6 video players.
I do have cable.
Have I disappointed?
I wish somebody would just chuck these things away for me.
I ask. Asked my son asked my son in law. They’re still here.
Sigh.
judy! you are a riot.
Please tell us about the “wrap” you are wearing…with all the beautiful colors!
it is a scarf from nordstrom – unfortunately i can’t find it on the website. i got it a little over a month ago though. i believe it is nordstrom’s brand and was about $50!
OMG that yogurt story is like my worst nightmare… I hope you are ok! I need to watch new Girls ep, agreed that it’s been kinda slow this season so good to know they are stepping up their game finally!
I’m completely obsessed with House of Cards! Kuddos to you for having restraint…I finished the second season the other day and I’m dying for season 3 now. Yes, it’s killing me.
i SOOOO would have finished it by now if i wasn’t watching with my husband. i’m half tempted to finish anyway and pretend that i’m watching the episodes for the first time with him.
I’m loving that scarf!
So I’m told but I don’t know why?
Hope that yogurt wasn’t too bad! If you thought it was fine while you were eating it…it can’t be that moldy, right? More probiotics for you? Is that how that works?
Just got my parents into Happy. It is the BEST. There’s no way it can’t bring your mood up.
Long time reader, first time commenter. I feel like if The Walking Dead keeps up this way I am going to totally break up with it. Yes, I’m that annoyed. I’m still angry that the annexing of a certain someone was not fully dealt with.
yes, I will totally throw out the baby with the bathwater on this one.
Loved the list of 38 Things! Scratch n’ sniff stickers, mix tapes…I even still have a bunch of Disney movies on VHS but my girls won’t watch them. They wouldn’t read Frog and Toad, either. Their loss! Thanks for the memories!
I still have and use my Caboodle!!!!!!!! It stores all my nailpolish stuff. :)
Loving the mcconaissance! True detective is awesome!
Thanks for the continuous inspiration!

Great post-made me happy even though it’s not Friday yet.

snow cover heels… so worth it!
24 hours of Happy has carried me through a few work days. I actually saw that video before I saw Despicable Me 2. It made the movie that much better when I saw it. So good.
