Tuesday Things.
1. Why yes. That would be a cupcake with peanut butter and chocolate and bacon. And banana. It’s from the carbcation I took to DC over the weekend. Totally face smash worthy.
2. This romesco grilled cheese with gruyere and watercress. I die. Feed me please.
3. I pretty much spent the entire night last night elbowing, punching and kicking Eddie mid-sleep to stop his snoring. Hashtag we still don’t have a king sized bed.
4. Probably going to forgive him though because he discovered over the weekend that he LIKES GUACAMOLE! This is huge. I mean, of course, I knew that he would love it all along. But now… he knows.
5. Just put these on repeat: 18 songs from the 90s you grew up singing but shouldn’t have. Um, second hand embarrassment. Right there. (also like half of these are on my TLC pandora station. )
6. I’m at war with the weather. I don’t care how cliche I am. Snow tonight makes me want to take a long walk off a short pier.
7. Not only has the internet destroyed my grammar, but it’s also made me want to write and type everything in lowercase. It just looks so much… prettier.
8. I’m about 13 seconds away from buying this jacket. Seriously?! Wait. Am I 31 or 13?
9. So what did you guys think of the GIRLS finale? I kinda like it, besides feeling it was somewhat uneventful. But I’m hoping this is the first step to Hannah not being so horrifyingly cringe worthy. I’m so excited for the Walking Dead finale this Sunday but am trying to figure out who will die or who I can live without and preparing myself for emotional devastation. I’m also probably going to rewatch the West Wing again because I REALLY can’t get out of 2005.

Baked and Wired has the BEST cupcakes (&coffee) in DC, no question, but I have to ask: where did you get the amazing guac??
the most uneventful of Girls finales, but it was okay. I keep picturing Elijah nudging his way into the cast photo, he is my favorite. some interesting story lines to develop, for sure.
yay for guacamole! boo for snoring.
As I type this I have Season One of West Wing playing on Netflix. It’s my default entertainment. I can’t get enough.
oh my. I JUST KNOW learned what O.P.P. means. I’ve had no idea my whole life. How embarrassing!
that should say NOW not KNOW. what’s wrong with me!
I KNOW! me too.
UGH marnie!!! worst human ever.
Buy that jacket sista and rock it like no one’s business :)
hoorah! more songs from the 90s – I’ve been addicted to this boy band playlist for the last 2 months: http://www.buzzfeed.com/smackgowan/25-boy-band-songs-to-help-get-you-through-mondays-g1b9
H TOWN!!!!!!!!
#3 was my life last night, as it is most nights. When i saw #5 the other day, I seriously began questioning how on earth my great-grandmother agreed to buy me “Crazy Sexy Cool” or any of the other mid-90s R&B albums. So scandalous. I love writing things in all lower case, too! I think that began during my e.e. cummings discovery as a teen. I still haven’t watched the Girls finale!

I totally clicked over from Facebook just to see if this cupcake was from Baked and Wired in DC. Delish! Crazy how recognizable they are. Hope you had a great visit!
Have you heard about this?? : http://popwatch.ew.com/2014/03/24/spice-girls-backstreet-boys-reunion-tour/
YES. omg.
WHERE did you get that cupcake!? My husband and I are taking a trip to DC this weekend, and I feel like my trip will be incomplete without that. Also, super excited (and nervous!) about Walking Dead. This season has been a rollercoaster.
baked and wired in DC! posting DC trip deets tomorrow!
I totally want to write everything in lowercase because it is prettier! Can we discuss that the other morning on 95.5 (radio here in NY) several hours were devoted to only 90’s music? Um hello to Color Me Bad. I was in my glory….
Hope you get a king sized bed soon….I swear that ours is the main reason we’re still married! DH and I like to joke that we sleep in our own zip codes. And we like it that way!
I’d tell you how many times I’ve watched West Wing on Netflix, but it’s so many I’ve lost count.
Now I definitely have to get to Baked and Wired. I keep talking about it (that and Buzz in Alexandria) but just never go. Sadly, I can’t have that amazing cupcake you posted (damn peanut butter!) but something tells me I’ll manage to find something edible!
You need to try earplugs. I am high on life right now because i can finally sleep through the night with the snore monster sleeping next to me!
that cupcake is a thing of legends.
HOW have you not gotten guac into your husband’s face before this? Story of the turning point in your next post involving avocados, please. Erik and I discovered we liked guac around the same time (around 20 years behind everyone else) and now we can burn through avocados + chips like nobody’s business. Can and do. It’s frightening.
And on another note, Erik used to have to sleep on my twin-sized bed with me. hashtag glad that’s over.
6. I’m at war with the weather. I don’t care how cliche I am. Snow tonight makes me want to take a long walk off a short pier. <– couldn't have said it better myself. Sheesh, i just can't take it ANYMORE
the weather. UGH.
I was hitting the hubs so hard last night to stop snoring, I’m surprised he doesn’t have bruises today. Was there some sort of male only full moon last night?
Barnes & Noble has the cutest Walking Dead Bobble heads! I must put Michonne and her 2 Zombie pets in my sewing studio on the shelf ,along side my crazy dressed Polly Pocket .Ha,ha,ha!
If i put my husbands arms down his side, from under his head ,when he snores…….. it stops. Go figure???
BUY THE JACKET! Excuse my yelling, but with jeans and a grey tee, OMG !
“Carbcation” is my new favorite word.
That cupcake…girl!
As a child I would sing Red Light Special ALL THE TIME in my bedroom, with my friends, on my boombox, whilst trying to tape it from the radio. For reals.
And I spent the last week shoving my husband and kicking him for his horrendous snoring. Too many beers while his brother visited was the problem, I’m pretty sure. I could hear him through my earplugs! Seriously, wtf?
Also, so seriously stressed out for the season finale of The Walking Dead. I am convinced Terminus is no-good at all. Also, Daryl’s new group!? I’m so upset about it. Punch me in the face, I can’t even handle that.
daryl’s new group gives me severe anxiety.
i would also sing red light special at the top of my lungs. WTF?
I just LOVE this cupcake! and I love how you have comments about The Walking Dead on here!! What did you ladies think of the final episode? Crazy, huh? I just love Rick! Love Daryl, too, but Rick stole all our hearts in the “I’ll do anything to save my son” scene. Wow! Loved it!
I hope the next season of Girls picks up with Hannah back in NY after completing her MFA in Iowa. They cannot possibly be taking the show to Iowa, but I really want her to do that for her. I was yelling at my TV when she broke the news to Adam right before his play- argh!!! And I agree with the person above who said Marnie is awful. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
agree with all of this! (though i really want marnie with ray for some reason)
That jacket? Couldn’t want it more. Love, love, love. Must buy too.
Yes, very concerned for The Walking Dead finale! Emotionally preparing self also!!
i. want.that.cupcake.
…and fully on board with lowercase typing only. it’s like, way prettier.
I was NOT into the Girls finale. I didn’t even realize it was the finale until afterwards. Girls needs to be one hour. Am I right?!
xoxo,
Elizabeth

Yea for the Girls finale. Probably the best one all season. I was about ready to give up. Be careful what you wish with the guacamole. My husband and I throw pushes over the last bite.
Totally unrelated but… OMG Rebecca Minkoff is on Gilt this week. The Mini Convertable clutch in almond/neon yellow reminded me of you! You need it along with that jacket.
ummm. i might have bought a neon pink mac clutch from her friends and family sale last weekend… do not tempt me!
#3- I was hesitant but refused to get a new bed that was not king size. I’ll never go back. Best nights sleep ever requires a king size bed!
Your trip to DC sounded amazing! We live outside DC and love Oyamel. Which cocktails did you try there? They have great ones!
#5- OMG the clothes in those videos. I hope that fashion doesn’t come back.
stuck to the margaritas with the salty foam – i am a marg freak!
I actually really liked the Girls finale! I’m so glad that it ended with her probably (maybe not, who knows) deciding to go to school. Also, Shoshanna. That is all.
So glad you had a great time in DC!
I totally agree with you on the Girls season finale being uneventful. I seriously predicted everything that happen, expect for Hannah getting into grad school, of course. I totally feel for Shoshanna, though — she doesn’t graduate AND doesn’t get her man back…. Although, I have to admit that Ray’s bittersweet response to her begging was absolute perfection.
We’ll see what happens in the next season…
OMG. omg. oooommmmmgggg that cupcake. *hyperventilating* oyoyoy get that in my mouth.
That cupcake!! It’s 7am but I would eat that thing for breakfast.
And I am right there with you with the weather. I know I can’t stop talking about it but it really is the WORST!
I also agree with you in typing in all lowercase–I can’t help it! The strange thing is, my handwriting is all caps. Go figure.
You are making me laugh about being stuck in 2005. I’ve been binge watching Veronica Mars and it’s perfect! Thanks for posting that cupcake – it made my day!
If you had a king sized bed you wouldn’t be able to reach your lovely snoring husband to be able to roll him over! You would have to do a double roll just to get to him ;)
That cupcake is absolute food porn!
My husband and I have a king size bed and we love it. However, the snoring still continues and my husband is usually right next to me on my side anyway. I still wouldn’t go back to a queen.
My husband got a dental device that he wears at night and it cured his snoring. No more punching him all the way across the king sized bed. I was totally skeptical but it was instantaneously helpful. Best money we ever spent! Now if only I can get the 2 year old out…although, she doesn’t snore so she can stay :)
This season of GIRLS wasn’t my favorite, although I did really like the girls trip/lake weekend episode.
Also, Jessa is totally going to jail!
Love all of these things and you totally inspire me to write about my life on my blog.
My husband and I purchased a queen thinking it was going to be fine, then we slept on it – we almost killed each other. 2 months of torture and that bed is now a guest bed and we have a king. We’ll never go back, ever! Though we wouldn’t mind having an even larger bed : )
love and totally agree with #7
i just can’t come at some of your food combos, but others I just love, so keep them coming.
There’s nothing wrong with the jacket, 31 or 13 – doesn’t matter as long as 31 leaves the raggedy hotpants behind and wears proper jeans or trousers. Just mho (and btw I am 65 and I love the jacket).
If you take that walk off the pier in the snow, won’t it be very cold? Which seems kind of like jumping from the frying pan… But then again, I live in South Florida…sorry.
I enjoyed the GIRLS finale! I’m kinda sad it’s over for now…make sure to get addicted to Silicon Valley when it airs on HBO b/c I show up later in the series!
I remember when we slept in a queen. Now that we’re in a king I have no idea how we ever did it.
All those 90’s songs.. What embarrases me most is how I used to play all that stuff in the car with my parents listening. My father made fun of it for being nothing but cursing and sex and I always defended it. “It’s a great song! Listen to the words!” *Every freakin’ night, and every freakin’ day, I wanna freak your body in every freakin way..” Oh, to be young.
I can’t wait to give my kid shit for the crap he’s going to listen to.
