lobster BLTs I howsweeteats.com

Well. That is untrue. And untrue statement. Since when don’t I have words? I always have words, as annoying or rambly or inappropriately not connected to the recipe as they are.  But really today, barely any ways.

BECAUSE THESE ARE RIDICULOUS.

lobster BLTs I howsweeteats.com

They are entirely too simply, albeit costing an arm and a leg if you can find some lobster and even adding another arm and a leg if you want to do two tails per sandwich… can you say super high maintenance?

A few weeks ago I asked Eddie if he would eat BLTs for dinner… and he responded with NO. Um… no? Hello. Who are you and why are you weird? He claimed they “didn’t have enough meat.” Okay. Whatevs.

I skipped the BLTs that night but couldn’t get them out of my head. It’s been ages since I had one, but sometimes they just taste so freaking good you know?

I was, however, highly obsessed with the idea of lobster BLTs. So. One day I made these lobster BLTs and then I snapped a picture, sending it to Eddie with “are you sure you still don’t want a BLT?”

Yeah. He was home in like 15 minutes. Eating said BLT.

lobster BLTs I howsweeteats.com

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to throw together a BLT and I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I sorta feel like an idiot posting a “recipe” for one, but the lobster (obviously takes it over the top) and the mayo… well, I could eat that with a spoon. I’m shoving my embarrassment to the side so I can tell you about this insanity smashed between two slices of of bread.

I haven’t always been a huge mayo fan. I actually didn’t eat it for years, claiming I didn’t like it – EXCEPT when it came to BLTs. I find that a mayo-y spread on a BLT is a must, and this slightly sweet and super smoky version is my new favorite.

I even ate BLTs back in the day when I didn’t eat so much L and T. Granted, there was much more B than L and T, but it would still classify as a BLT. Obviously, I still prefer my B ratio to be slightly higher than the L and T. Always. And forever.

What have you done?! I may need to trade my next shoe purchase for these sandwiches, but girl, I LOVE lobster and BLTS so this is surely worth the splurge. And I love that Eddie adamantly said no to BLTs at first but couldn’t resist. i, too, used to “hate” mayo except on BLTs.

You nailed the bacon here. Struck a home run. Crispy, not chewy. Perfectly crips. Best. Bacon. Ever. Congrats!!!

And the lobster, so you discovered the missing link to BLT’s!! I would have never thought of this. Wow!

I grew up with these at a place in NYC called “The Lobster Club”. It was closed for many years but looks like someone is giving it another shot because they’re reopening it.

My dad used to call it the “kosher delight” (because bacon, shellfish etc.)

Also, Eddie’s comment is hilarious. I once asked my boyfriend if there was anything specific he wanted me to pick up at the grocery store, and he slowly and thoughtfully responded with bacon, eggs, and whiskey. He still doesn’t understand why I think it’s so funny!
