Nutella Oatmeal Cookie Shake.
This is a life changing day.
Life.Changing.
It just so happens to be the very first day I’ve ever shared ANYTHING with nutella on this blog. Yes. Anything.
Don’t even know how I feel about it. It’s like I’ve joined the masses. Well… more than I have already. Cue basic photos of lattes and shoes in the snow.
See? I used to loathe nutella. It wasn’t my thang at ALL.
Then I got pregnant. And I ate pinkberry for dinner like 35 times while traveling for the book tour and I’d always get nutella on top (along with the milk chocolate crunch – totally worth the extra fifty cents) which convinced me to buy a large tub of nutella which led me to EAT a large tub of nutella.
Many nights, pinkberry was the most delicious dinner choice in the airport.
So. I was eating this nutella off a spoon, putting it on my pancakes, spreading it on toast and melting it on ice cream.
I finally got the hype.
Do they make nutella lattes? Because I’d probably be all over that.
Lies. I’d for SURE be all over that.
I almost always think that it’s a cop out to share a smoothie or shake recipe (unless it involves booze, of course), but I’ve been drinking this since December and abso-freaking-lutely LOVING it. First, I love your guts for allowing me to share these sort of embarrassingly simple recipes with you while I get my act together. Second, this has been part of my omg-I’m-feeding-a-human-and-must-eat-oats phase so it’s made many a regular appearance in my kitchen. I want to make sure if I’m sharing a ridiculously easy “hey-that’s-not-REALLY-a-recipe” recipe, that it’s insanely delicious.
Plus, when I can eat nothing else but simple things to grab on the go, throwing a bunch of junk in a blender totally works. This is my real life normal at the moment.
Plus plus, did you know that some babies are sort of obsessed with the sound of a blender? Yeah, that’s a thing.
Plus plus plus, It tastes like a legit oatmeal nutella chocolate chip cookie. Truth.
No judgement if you accidentally on purpose drop a cookie in the blender.

I’m so glad you’ve converted to the Nutella-lovers-side! This shake looks beyond delicious!!
Yesterday was World Nutella Day! We’ll say you’re just fashionably late ;) I am generally more of a “chew my food” kinda person…but when there is Nutella and cookies involved, I will most defs shake it up! Pinned!
Here’s the thing -> I’ve never had Nutella.
I’m afraid I’m going to love it too much, almost like peanut butter, only much much worse. I mean, look at this freakin’ shake already!
This looks incredible! I was just thinking yesterday about how to make an oatmeal cookie smoothie/shake. I will definitely be making this this weekend, but probably with peanut butter as I’m not a fan of Nutella!
Love this. I want this everyday for the rest of my life. Also, can’t believe this is your first Nutella recipe! Sounds like you are hooked now, so I’m sure it won’t be your last!
i need this in my life…….today!!
Oh this looks incredible! Melissa of ‘The Faux Martha’ has a recipe for a mean Salted Nutella Latte on her blog that has fast become my very favourite drink! :)
WOW! I will definitly try this during the weekend!
As soon as I saw the title of today’s post – I literally gasped … I DIE. Seriously, this is happening TONIGHT!!
You literally made my weekend. i love nutella more than most things.
I want to hop right into this!! Nutella and cookie MILKSHAKE!?!? AHHHHHHH!!!
I love shakes. I love chocolate. And I love nutella. This is a perfect way to change things up from my usual chocolate shake routine! And personally, some of the best recipes are the simplest ones! It’s still an amazing recipe! I can’t wait to try it!
I have no words for this shake. It looks heavenly!
Hmmm…not sure about the oats in a milkshake but it’d be worth a shot to give it a try. I mean, Nutella. Hello. YUM.
AND…I love the simple recipes. Shakes, smoothies, whatever… Sometimes, it’s all about planting the naughty ideas in our heads. :-D
as long as you have a good blender, they will totally blend up and just add some bulk/creaminess!
For years, I’ve only had protein shakes that were chocolate flavored but low in sugar. So petty much meh. Recently we tried a cookies and cream protein shake and wow. Over ice it’s like dessert. In fact, I’ve had it for dessert a couple times. Haha
Cookies on the side optional but mandatory– ha! But in all seriousness, I’m afraid to make this because if I do I know that I’ll want it 2 times a day for the next month. Well, maybe it’ll be worth it; I’ll let ya know :)
Yum this sounds and looks so amazing! I can’t believe this is your first recipe with nutella!
Ahhhhh. I think I’m also one of the only people who hasn’t posted a recipe with nutella either! Need to do something about that.
Welcome to the dark side, and thank you for feeding the Nutella addiction! This looks great :)
Isn’t Nutella addicting?! So happy you’ve decided to give in. I can’t wait to see what you can make with it ;) these look to die for. It’s my kind of morning shake because well, oatmeal. That makes this a perfectly normal breakfast meal.
There’s a Coffee Shop in LA that does make Vanilla Lattes! Next time you are in town ;)
Love these photos!!
So….recipe for the cookies? Because that texture looks awesome!
they are my current fave cookies: http://www.thelittlekitchen.net/doubletree-hotel-copycat-chocolate-chip-cookies-recipe/
so incredible – and julie once gave me ones with nutella swirled in!
Oh my goodness, I commented this morning on your IG about these, I feel like a dummy. I had forgotten I had given you the nutella and peanut butter swirl ones too! #CookiesforLife!
I make Nutella lattes in my kitchen ALL THE TIME.
ummm RECIPE!!?
This looks so incredibly delicious and I want to make it today, however, don’t hate me…I don’t like coconut milk :( What would you suggest as an alternative?
use whatever milk you do like! i would try to go with something other than skim or nonfat (just because it won’t be quite as creamy/rich) – but use what you have/enjoy!
So. I had a Nutella latte at a cute little breakfast shop in Georgetown (DC) while visiting my sister. I couldn’t get over how amazingly awesome it was! I’ve been trying to avoid most social media lately, but I broke my own rule and posted a pic of me drinking it on Insta. That’s how good it was. And cause I’m pretty cool and people want to see pictures of myself. Anyway, Nutella lattes exist! You must find one! Or hey, even better, create a recipe for us!
haha this made me laugh out loud. you’re awesome.
OMG what breakfast shop? I live 15 minutes outside of DC, I have to go there!!!
Sign me up! I’m loving this entire post..especially all of that Nutella. :D
YUM. I will have to try this this weekend!!
I took a trip to San Diego last year, and there is a cafe in Little Italy (Pappalecco) which has a drink called “Marocchino” which is espresso, frothy milk, and a heaping spoonful of Nutella that you stir in yourself. My mind was blown!
omg.
Yum! This shake looks amazing. I love nutella – pinned to try!
I need this immediately!! Also, Nutella lattes are definitely a thing, and I am ALL ABOUT them! Super easy to make too! You just drop two tablespoons of Nutella into a mug; and then pour your espresso over it, and stir well to make sure all the Nutella melts. Then you just pour your hot milk ove it, and voilà: a Nutella latte! If you don’t want to make one, there’s a place in DC called Pound that makes the BEST Nutella lattes!
Yes, just yes. That is all.
It looks sooo delicious!! How many portions gives the batch?
I’m like you… never really liked nutella! Mayyyybe since you used to not like it, and you now consume it on the regular, that means this shake would work for me?!
I think yes.
I have not been a big fan of nutella – hazelnut is just not my thing – but this could get me to try it! And I am pro-sharing simple recipes like this once in a while if the flavor combo is different enough and on-point. I’ve never thought to put rolled oats right in my smoothie. Game on.
ooh, this shake is amazing, Jessica! the simple recipes you post are actually my favorite, because i can prepare them with ease while in a rush.
also..
yay nutella!! :)
as always my waistline loathes you, but my taste buds and brain are completely in love with you…
it is so a recipe and quite ingenious… i am going to have to give it a whirl! Thanks
Pretty sure I need someone to make this for me STAT (note that ordinarily I’d just hop in the kitchen myself but it’s been a DAY in kindergarten and someone else making me a delicious milkshake sounds just right at the moment). Nutella forever–I didn’t taste it until I was an adult and holy heavens it’s delicious.
YES they do make Nutella Lattes & I even like them and do NOT like Hazelnut in my coffee! YUM!
Uhhhh this is SO not a cop-out recipe! PLEEEEEASE share more like this!! It makes me believe that I’m not the only mom out there that believes fast blender meals are okey-doke to eat! This looks insanely good and is on my grocery list already!!
I need this in my life! At work. Right now. Do you deliver? ;-)
It seems impossible that Nutella hasn’t made an appearance on your blog! Glad to see that has changed – and in the most delicious way! This looks so divine!
Glad you’re on board with Nutella….cannot believe it’s the FIRST nutella recipe in your blog’s 6 year history and it just so coincides with World Nutella Day that I believe was yesterday. I doubt you planned that, but it worked out :) And this shake looks incredible! I want it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Pinned!
Omg I just restocked (ahem!) our pantry with much awaited nutella yesterday and until last night I had no idea it was nutella day?!! Heavens sake, which world am I living! Well to makeup for it, I am making these tonight!
If I substitue milk, how many cups should be used? Thanks! I’m not sure how big cans of coconut milk are. :)
omg. I used to swear that I hated nutella, but now I can’t get enough! I’ve been particularly obsessed with it these past two weeks, so this shake recipe comes at the perfect time! I know what I’m doing with my weekend…
Woooahhh this sounds unreal! I wasn’t a kid who was raised on Nutella and only really found out about it in my late teens. (My mum is allergic to both nuts and chocolate, so there definitely wasn’t a whole lot of either in our house, which is a shame.) I’m pretty sure there’s a jar in my kitchen cupboard right now and I’m 100% sure I know what I want to do with it. ;)
I’m glad you moved to the nutella side…and this shake has to be in my life ASAP. <3
OMG. I am so crazy about NUTELLA. I think it’s not very healthy but I can’t wait to eat my next spoon, pure Nutella. Thanks for sharing this great recipe. Love, Steph
Everything is amazing with nutella! But oatmeal makes this healthy, right? Which means I can have it for breakfast and not feel guilty. Yay! Plus, I would totally accidentally on purpose drop a cookie in my shake.
