Tuesday Things.
1. I find the first two or three months of the year to be semi-miserable with gloomy grayness and freezing temps, so I’m wearing as many neons as I can. You should see my lipstick.
2. Holy cow: this buttermilk chocolate chip and passionfruit naked cake needs to happen. Want.
3. If you’ve been following the blog since the start, then you’ll know that Eddie still often adopts the “cheat meal” once a week rule and eats dessert on Saturday nights (while standing over the kitchen sink, of course). Well on Sunday at brunch, he had a cheeseburger AND blueberry pancakes but it “wasn’t his cheat meal.” Seriously. This man.
4. Yesterday I got a notification that it been eleven years since I joined Facebook. That was when you had to be in college to join and my school was one of the last (or at least what FELT like one of the last) to get it. I still remember the day I joined and uploading sooo many photos. See ya later myspace.
5. As I was scrolling on my phone last week, I had a thought that I wish I could type in my own font. Like can’t be instagram captions be in my own handwriting? Who wants to agree that this will probably be possible by 2020.
6. Tracy’s closet organization = goals.
7. TV TV! With every episode I just love Billions more and more. I love Damian Lewis in this role for some reason. And what his wife did to the book writing woman? Holy power trip. Also, did you watch Grease Live?! I’m just going to put this out here: I LOVED IT. I’m already a huge fan of Julianne Hough and while I thought she was incredible (seriously, could anyone else play that role as well?!), who really killed it for me was Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo. I thought she was fantastic.
8. 22 photos for people who love color. Whoa. I want to frame half of them.
9. What are you having for dinner tonight?

You can create your own font!!! I did it once – it won’t work for most browsers – but theres an app called iFontMaker. Sorry in advance for ruining your productivity for the day.Â
i can?! like ON MY PHONE!?
those tulips — so gorg!!
they are saving me this week! i swear. so bright.Â
We’re having minimalist baker’s garlic chili pasta with roasted cauliflower. We’re kind of going vegan (in the dairy and egg sense, fml) and this looked similar to your charred cauliflower carbonara, so hopefuls that it’s a win!
I also loved Grease Live! I didn’t like the NBC musicals they’ve done in past few years, so my expectations were pretty low, but I was very impressed! Made me miss high school drama… Hope Fox does another one sometime! Happy Tuesday!
same here! my expectations were low too, might have been why i liked it. also, your dinner sounds SO good.
That buttermilk chocolate chip passion fruit cake looks INSANE..I’m obsessed with passion fruit but I can never find it in my area. The only grocery store I found it in was in Denver visiting my brother, and I hoarded so much of it on the plane haha. Also making your almond crusted tilapia for dinner tonight from Seriously Delish!!
i can never find it either, totally sucks! and oh my gosh – enjoy!Â
I was just wondering about dinner…I originally thought about chicken enchiladas, but since I had taco chili for lunch, is that too much Mexican?
you can never have too much Mexican, lauren!
I had chili for lunch and just finished off some chicken fajitas. Â Never too much Mexican!
agreed! never too much mexican food.Â
Yep!! Never too much Mexican. Hope you made the chicken enchiladas.
That color buzzfeed list is uh-mazing! And we’re having skillet lasagne for dinner. And yessss to tulips! I love tulips this time of year!
I adore your idea about wearing neons/brights in the dreary winter months. I have been wearing way too much black and grey recently and am planning on adopting the whole neon thing for my own life! I could use a pop of color and cheer. Also, dinner tonight is steak, roasted potatoes, and a big green salad. It is the hubs fav meal ever!Â
Dinner is Creamy Potato Leek soup with bacon, cheese and chives on top. And leftover fried focaccia from Gaucho!
that focaccia! gah.Â
I made your house salad for dinner tonight (+avocado and white beans to make it a meal!) and it was completely delicious. Last night, we had the grain bowls and they were equally amazing. You are hitting it out of the park lately!
thank you so much!! that means so much to me, seriously. xoxo
I’d love to see your lipstick! :) Sadly, I missed Grease Live. I’m glad you enjoyed it!Â
If you have Comcast On Demand, Grease Live is on there. Â I only got to see a small part of it when it was on so I plan to watch it on On Demand.
I loved Grease Live! Everything was so well done. Totally agree that Julianne Hough was the perfect Sandy. Vanessa Hudgens knocked it outta the park as Rizzo, and I adored Keke Palmer as Marty. So much fun.Â
Dinner tonight is giant taco salads with fajita veggies & tons of guac. YUM!
We’re making your chicken tacos w/ gorgonzola slaw from your cookbook for dinner tonight. Except I accidentally grabbed medium-ish flour tortillas so they’re gonna be extra-large tacos. Â Or maybe they’ll end up being mini burritos. (Neither of those sound like a bad thing) Made your cauliflower soup last night and lovedddddddddd it. You really are my favorite food blogger/cookbook author <3Â
I made pan seared lamb chops with garlic and thyme, sweet potatoes fries (cooked in the oven) and your house salad with gigantic croutons, so delicious. Obsessed with that salad and homemade dressing now, made a batch for the week. Thank you! YES to a bright lip during this gray months, I compensate for it wearing colorful Kendra Scott earrings.Â
Last night I made the weekly roast chicken. I tried the Michael Symon tip of salting it and leaving it uncovered overnight. OMG crispiest skin ever so that was pretty much what we ate. After that cholesterol fest, tomorrow is veggie day!
Nom Nom Paleo’s pulled pork over a sweet potato and guac! Still riding the wave from the January  Whole30, day 30 something! :)
Monday night I made your gnocchi mac’n’cheese with crispy kale and last night we split a panini from The Fresh Market.
HA! Your #4. That explains my life perfectly, step by step.  And then do you remember when  they let high schoolers in?! Or when posts were numbered…flare…pokes…oh geez FB.Â
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog and get happy when I see it in my email.  Thanks for being real.  We are also still riding the post Whole 30 wave and are trying a new recipe tonight.  Bora Bora Fireballs – some sort of spicy pork meatball made with pineapple and jalapeño, rolled in toasted coconut and then baked in the oven.  Hope they’re good! Â
i bet your closet is so colorful. First I wanna organize your makeup and then we move to the closet! weeeeeeeeee
YES – #5 needs to happen!
Seriously though, that cake is so gorgeous yet raw! #aspirations

Tulips….hope that spring will come soon! Â And Billions…..love, love, love!
I watch the first part of the People v. OJ Simpson last night and loved it. I can’t believe that there’s a new generation of people who do not know this story. I was a part of the generation that knew him more for the crime than his playing football career.
Those grey, dreary days are my jam. I am so so jealous of you. Here in Perth (Western Australia) we’re all sunshine every freaking day for like half the year. Also we’re heading into a heatwave for the next week or so. Maybe that’s why I’m extra jealous ;)
