I’ve been waiting for a Max update since you posted the last one. Seriously. Two months is WAY too long! He’s such a sweetie pie. He’s growing so so much, I love watching him grow up! Such a cute smile.
Too cute! What are your favorite types of shoes these days for him? We love our Freshly Picked moccasins, but she needs something a little more substantial now that she’s walking (15 months), + is out on the hot pavement at the playground at school.
We’re looking for something for everyday wear + hopefully something that will work for our upcoming beach trip as well! Thought you might have some good suggestions!
hi shelley! i’m going to do an 18 month favorites soon, but he currently LIVES in these baby keen shoes. they are wonderful. they protect his toes but are sturdy enough to run and walk in. we love them! http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/keen-seacamp-ii-waterproof-sandal-walker-toddler-little-kid-big-kid/4292111?origin=category-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=TRUE%20BLUE%2F%20JASMINE%20GREEN
he also has these native shoes that we like (kind of like crocs, but i think they are cuter), then a pair of nikes too. http://nativeshoes.com/shop/kids/jefferson-marbled-child-19027

I am so glad Shelley asked this question! I was scrolling through and wondering if you had a suggestion for shoes. My daughter will be 13 months and is trying to walk, so we need to get some ASAP. I am going to check out the Keens!
I love that you were at Busy Beaver!! I grew up in Greensburg and I used to go there all the time with my Dad. I didn’t know they were still around!
I also need to know how you taught him how to drink out of a straw. I’ve been just tring to let them figure it out but it’s not working! They tilt the cup back like a sippy and get so frustrated when nothing comes out.
haha oh my gosh my mom LOVES busy beaver. it’s like the first place she goes when she needs anything home/plant related.
okay so the straw thing! it took a few months for him to get. i think i started offering it around 6 or 7 months (the dr recommended to just start offering) but he didn’t get it until right around his first birthday. i tried some tricks i read online but they didn’t work, so just having a straw cup out every.single.day is what i think did it. nothing special happened, one day he just picked it up and drank from it! but it did take 5 to 6 months. i also think my mom kept trying to give him sips of milkshakes which probably helped… ha!Â
its so fun watching him grow through this blog. but holy cow…your child is SO GORGEOUS! i can’t get over it with each photo. seriously, beyond adorable! and its really neat reading how much you love being a mom :)Â
He is SO darling, such a little man! Ive been loving the updates, and watching him grow up, now my niece has a tiny one, 13 May, 4 lb, 14 oz, 15 1/2 “, he’s almost 7 lb now, so I get occasional snuggles, and a little to watch grow, here.. Our littles.. Love em! Hugs, Max!!
What a sweet buddy! I have a 14 month old daughter who walked over as I was scrolling through Max’s photos; she was so excited to see the baby on the screen and started waving :) We facetime a lot with family, so I’m not sure she can differentiate between a live and still picture.
I know you’ve written about this some, but would love to hear more about the “baby food” that you’ve prepared for Max’s meals to get some inspiration for my little one!

He is so, so cute. This age is so much fun! They can do things, but still listen. The faces, oh the faces they make. Enjoy!
Okay, we’re already trying to have a second but still, my ovaries!! Ovaries, wake up to that cuteness. The Hello overalls are killing me… = )
