HUGE NEWS! Introducing Sweet Peas Meals!
HAPPY MONDAY!
You GUYS. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So many exclamation points are necessary here.
I am so excited to tell you all about a huge project that I’ve been working on for the last year… Sweet Peas Meals!
Maria and I have joined together to start a meal planning subscription service after hearing what you’ve been saying about weekly dinners, cooking the same thing over and over and not being inspired to cook balanced, delicious meals. The thing is: I TOTALLY GET THAT.
I get in ruts myself, making the same thing over and over. And I develop new recipes every week!
I am always on the lookout for new dinner ideas, easy snack ideas, heck – even lunch ideas!
Now that I have Max, I don’t WANT to spend an hour or two cooking dinner every night because I want to spend time with Eddie and him instead.
And I certainly, in no way, shape or form, can or want to spend hours meal prepping on Sundays. Talk about ruining the weekend.
That’s exactly what Sweet Peas is all about and why we wanted to start it. It’s totally for you if:
- You want to cook fantastic meals throughout the week but don’t know where or how to start, and don’t want to spend hours doing it.
- You already cook, but find yourself making the same things over and over and… over.
- You buy a ton of groceries every week with good intentions to make incredible meals, but end up tossing a lot of it, unused, at the end of the week. I get this. My crisper drawer is occasionally where veggies go to die.
- You are familiar with cooking but love having tons of IDEAS for new meals.
- You don’t want spend three, four or even two (!!) hours doing meal prep each week.
- You can’t figure out how many meals to make a week for your family and what the heck to do with leftovers or remaining ingredients.
We have put together an entire system to make meal planning FUN and EASY! While the main idea of our program is to serve your family (or yourself!) delicious, balanced dinners during the week, Sweet Peas is SO much more than that.
While Maria and I first came up with Sweet Peas last year, the whole program has been spearheaded by Jess, our content manager, who is absolutely amazing and has worked so hard to get our ducks in a row! The best part about the team of Sweet Peas is that we have three different lifestyles: Maria has a family of 4 and eats a vegetarian diet, I have a family of 3 and eat an “everything” diet, and Jess has a family of 2. We’ve spent countless hours coming up with a plan that works for all of us, where a few adaptations may be made.
And it gets better!
We offer a slew of optional breakfast and lunch ideas, if you’re into that sort of thing. We give you a super detailed shopping list that makes your time in the grocery store insanely efficient. We share a huge resource packet when you sign up – all of our favorite pantry staples and what not. New snack ideas each month that are easy and doable. The meal prep tips and tricks to do one day a week for an hour or less to make your life EASIER. Yes yes yes. And just exactly how to repurpose and use the ingredients you have in your fridge for the week. We share fun challenges too, along with brand new content each week in our newsletter.
Perhaps my most favorite part? An entertaining guide for holidays – and no, I don’t just mean Christmas. Our first one will go out with the August plan and give you all sorts of fun ideas for an end-of-summer Labor Day blast. PARTAY.
It is basically a DREAM.
I’d love if you’d head over to the Sweet Peas Meals site and check everything out – along with the three-day sample guide. You can follow us on instagram and facebook too! We have poured our heart and soul into this idea and we want to hear from you too. You can register for the plan over there where you’ll become a member of the Sweet Peas Community and your first program will go out next week, just in time for August 1st.
And if you have any questions, feel free to leave them below!

This is SO great! Thanks for creating this!
thank YOU so much for supporting me for all these years! xo!
This is exactly what I need! I’m so excited to try this out. I love the format and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve been reading for years and make tons of your recipes all the time. Thanks for making it family friendly – I have twin 2-year-olds and I know this will make life so much easier!
ahh thank you so much christie!! i am super excited about it because even though i make new recipes all the time, when it comes to loosely structured meals for our week, i can get way out of whack! so glad you are excited about it!!
This is amazing and an answer to our daily “what do you want for dinner…I don’t know” dilemma! So excited! Thank you, I can’t wait to try it out!
thank you shannon!
Congratultions Jessica and team!! What a huge accomplishment to be launching and an exciting next business adventure! XO
thank you steph!
This is SO awesome Jessica!! Congratulations!!!!
thank you so much molly!
I think this sounds great! I just wonder how my husband would take to it. He is a very simple “meat and potatoes” kind of guy. Will just be too fancy for him?
thanks dana!! the best way i can describe it is if he likes the meals on both of our sites, he will like this. we are making sure not include some of the insane recipes i share (that have 45 ingredients, haha!) regularly – they would be more of a special optional thing. most dinners should be able to be completed in 30 minutes or less and are easily adaptable (so say, if you want to change chicken to steak, add meat or a different side!).

This is AMAAAAZING! And had to have taken so much time! I’m with all the other moms who say this is exactly what I need in life. Meal planning and grocery shopping are my biggest pain in the a** so this looks perfect. Thank you and Maria! You rock!
thank you adrienne! it’s been a pretty huge part of our lives for the last year but also FUN because it’s something we deal with on the regular. thank YOU!

hahaha thank you brynn! that’s the only part we DON’T do for you. :)
I’m so so so excited about this for the three of you (and all of us who get to partake)! :) I can’t wait to see what this has in store, and I’m stoked about the holiday entertaining guides – that is my dream come true! I wish I could insert ll of the praise hands and confetti emojis, and maybe some neon glitter just for you, Jess! Congratulations!!! SO EXCITED!
thank you hope! confetti and email all around! you are the best. :) xo
This is SO exciting!! Love it all! Very, very happy for you and this new venture!
thank you so much ashlyn!
Will there be exclusive recipes that aren’t on your blog or in your cookbook? And, how is it different than the weekly meal planning that Two Peas currently have on their blog? I’m only curious but so very happy for all of you.
thank you michelle! it will be recipes that are here on both of our blogs but there will also be some exclusive content in the plan! it differs from what maria posts as it starts with a detailed shopping list (saving you $), is based on everything you buy that week (efficient use of food so no throwing stuff out, etc), gives detailed guides on what EXACTLY to meal prep in less than an hour for the week, all of our resource guides, all that jazz, every single week! check out the 3 day sample for a peek!
Wow congratulations this looks AMAZING!!! I also love the pictures and the formatting it’s so pretty to look at the food looks amazing! What a great idea!!
thank you so much sahra!!
Yay!! So happy for you both and to see it live! The website looks awesome and I know how much work both of you must have put into this. xo
thank you love!!
OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!
thank you kirsten!!
I love this and I know you will be incredibly successful!! I wish you did have diet specific options, so hopefully y’all will be able to add that soon!
thank you laura!! we plan on adding some dietary restriction plans based on demand soon! as for right now, most meals are easily adaptable to vegetarian (if they aren’t vegetarian already) and a swap or two can easily make them gluten free!
This is awesome!! Congrats!!! I just subscribed and cannot wait to get my first week of meal plans :)
thank you so much alyssa!! so excited to have you. :)
This sounds amazing!!! The planner in me is getting so excited just with the sample photo of meal plans and recipes ! Do you have an option to get gluten free meals only? If not, I might still be interested, I take a lot of your recipes and just adapt them for what I need for my Celiac diet.
ps. i love the name – so cute to combine both of your blogger names!
pss. do you think this thread will have the most exclamation points ever ?!
thanks tasia!! bahahah it just might be. !!!!!!!!
we don’t have an exclusively gluten free option right now, but we are hoping to add one in the future! if you are used to the kind of recipes that maria and i share, they should be easily adaptable for you! and some are already naturally gluten free!
Congrats!!!! What a cool idea!
thanks kellie!!
This is amaze-balls! So happy for you two. Seriously, you are bad-ass boss ladies. Such a inspiration. Just checked out the site and everything looks so wonderful!
thank you so much liz! that means the world to me!
This is so cool! Major congrats!! Also, does this mean you were working on this at the same time as your book this past year?? You are seriously such a rockstar!
thank you so much mansee!! yes i was working on both simultaneously, but jess (who i mentioned above in the post) did a TON of work on bringing this together!!
Congratulations! This is really awesome!
Quick question: If I am a single lady with no one else to cook for (my leftovers tend to last me for 2-3 additional meals which is great but also gets old quickly!), does Sweet Peas cater to that demographic, or is more family-oriented with lots of mouths to feed?
thanks nicole!! excellent question – it caters to an average family of 4. you can def still use it but just wouldn’t want to make every meal – however you’d still probably be in the leftover predicament! it does do a great job of using the same ingredients you buy in a week to make different meals!
Hey Nicole! I’m working with Jessica & Maria on Sweet Peas Meals & just wanted to jump in here. I live with my husband, so I’m just feeding two mouths regularly and Sweet Peas Meals meal plans would totally suit our lifestyle because he hates leftovers. I’d say if you halved the recipes (they’re written to serve 4) you’d have a good amount of food to serve 1, with leftovers for lunch. Jessica also pointed out that our plans are organized to use similar ingredients across different recipes so you’ll also be able to use up ingredients throughout the week in different dishes instead of eating the same thing every day. I hope this helps!! We’d love for you to join us! =)
Yes, yes, yes! What a great team, and a great resource to solve the meal planning dilemma and take out all the grudgery. People are going to love this!
thank youuuu heidi. :)
OMG this looks FANTASTIC!! Congratulations, such a great idea!!!
thank you katie!
This is awesome! Congrats, Jess!
thank you joanna!!
You’ve been my absolute favorite food blogger for YEARS (since your cake batter pancakes recipe SIX AND A HALF years ago). Obsessed with you, your family (Max is literally the cutest sweetest little thing, can’t wait to see the new baby), and your amazing personality that shines through in all your blog posts. I am so happy for you, this is amazing. Congratulations!!! <3
thank you so, so much! seriously your support means the world to me!
this will be very helpful the way it is but if someone would make resizing a possibility, it would help us empty nesters and every family even more.
thanks shirley! in the future we may have options for families of 1 to 2! in the meantime, the plan can still work for you, you just wouldn’t make all the meals. :)
This looks amazing! Love all your recipes and definitely need help with meal planning as we are definitely in a rut. Quick question, can I purchase it in the U.K.?
thank you helen! yep, you definitely can!
Ok, this is really cool! Congrats on finally launching this project! I am sure it will make many peoples’ meal-planning lives way easier! :)
thank you so much natasha!
Wow, a huge congratulations to you and the rest of your collaborators! This service is something that I have dreamed about. I adore cooking, but my husband and I have the same 6 or 7 meals, and I throw away SO much food every week. This will enable me to only shop what I need, and that is really important for me. I also love the aspect of using the leftover ingredients, I am always stuck with random ingredients I only needed for one meal. I absolutely love this idea, and I wish you all the best! I am signing up right now, I can’t wait to learn more as you evolve this cleaver business :)
thank you so so much nicole!! i hope it is something that you find helpful. :)
Woot! Just signed up…. Thank you for doing. this!
thank you so, so much mara!!
OMG, this is so amazing!! I’m a single 30 year old living in DC and trying so, so hard to save money. But it’s hard in such an expensive city! Saving money on groceries and wasting less would be huge and I also really struggle with what to eat on week nights so this sounds perfect for me. I saw something like this awhile back but it was pretty expensive, you had to pay for a whole year up front and I knew nothing about the people behind it. I’ve been following you for years so I trust anything you put your name on :) But being able to try it for one month for less than $20 is really the deciding factor for me. I’m off to sign up now!
yes yes! please let me know how it’s working out for you addie and any comments and suggestions you may have!
OMG I so needed this! I’m doing a free trial of plate joy but the recipes aren’t that good and the instructions are incomplete a lot of the time! My husband and I will be moving to our first house soon and I think this will be PERFECT to get us off on the right track of cooking more and stop wasting food (my poor produce drawer!)
thank you kristen! i hope you love it!
Congratulations! It looks like a fabulous project. Wishing you much success!
thank you laura!
Congratulations to you all for this huge launch! It sounds wonderful and I wish you all the best. The 3-day sample was so impressive!
thank you so much cindy!
so helpful … thanks all
Pingback: Tuesday Things. | How Sweet It Is
If there was a way to offer some sort of an abbreviated weekly bundle, I would be interested. We simplified our lives a lot this past year, and one of them was to eat the exact same thing 2-3 times a week (it changes by season, but Monday and Tuesday are always the same meal two meals – in cold months, Monday is pasta with red sauce, and Tuesday is grilled cheese and tomato soup – the soup comes from the left-over red sauce). One day a week is for an interesting or new recipe, and the other days I look for recipes that are various takes on standard items we eat. Anyway, I’m not much into meal planning (as you can tell), but I’d consider it if there was a leaned down version.
For those with more mental space for cooking, this sounds really cool though. And I like how it’s printable! I know you’re not into ordering your groceries, but if folks did order groceries, I can see how easy this would be to implement. ;)
thank you!!
I am pretty excited about this! Your recipes have become some of my family’s favorites. I cant wait to try this. It is exactly the type of meal plan program I’ve been looking for!
thank you so much sara!
Sign me up!!!!!!! I can’t wait!
thanks julie!!
what a genius idea! I’m a registered dietitian, if you ever want to involve some nutritional info on your meal plans, I’m you’re girl! ;)
but congrats on the new project!! some friends and I have already talked about how excited we are!
thank you caitlin!
Congratulations, Jessica! I’m super excited to use this service once my travel schedule calms down at the end of next month. The sample sold me! Best wishes on your new endeavor!

P.S. Sweet Peas Meals = clever name! Love it.
thank you so much catherine!!
