March Favorites: Beauty & My Skincare Routine.
Happy March!
Ahh it’s my most favorite time of the month!
For this month’s favorites, I really narrowed it down again to five things that I’m loving right now. Last month, I talked about a few new things (like this eyeshadow palate!) that I’m loving so I’ve been sticking with those. Earlier this month, I also grabbed a Charlotte Tilbury Magic Concealer that I’m currently trying. I had been using the Too Faced Born This Way concealer and thought it was fab! Until it started balling up every.single.time I tried to apply it. I didn’t change anything else (like my skincare!) so that was a bummer.
Speaking of skin care, I keep getting questions on what exactly I’m using morning and night! I am SO HAPPY with my skincare routine, so here is a rundown:
Morning Skin
Caudalie Moisturizing Toner with an exfoliating cotton round
Drunk Elephant Protini Moisturizer
Drunk Elephant C Tango Eye Cream
Night Skin
MAC cleanse off oil or Elemis Cleansing Balm
Caudalie Moisturizing Toner with an exfoliating cotton round
Sunday Riley Luna Oil + Good Genes  (alternated with the below)
Dr Dennis Gross Daily Peel  (alternated with the above)
Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Eye Serum
Drunk Elephant C Tango Eye Cream
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream
I also use Exfolikate on my face once a week in the shower!
Now on to the products that I’m really loving this month:
Glossier You Perfume. I can’t get over how much I LOVE this scent. I’ve heard people talk about it for months and I received 2 samples of it last month. I could not get enough, so I ordered the bottle and adore it. I even take it with me on the go.
Glossier Play Niteshine Highlighter in Pale Pearl. I was sucked into buying this too and while I know it’s almost exactly like the Benefit highlighter, I’m into it. It’s so good! I really love adding some of it to my tinted moisturizer for an all over glow.
Philosophy Fresh Cream Dry Shampoo. Obsessed. That is all I have to say. This scent is so nostalgic for me and I just about died when I saw that they had this in dry shampoo form! It smells like heaven. A little vanilla-y but not sickly sweet. I use this mostly for texture in my hair – not so much to keep it clean. I wash my hair at least every other day and hate the way product build up feels.
CND Cuticle Eraser. This is the closest cuticle balm to the Sephora X erase cuticle cream I’ve found. It works magic on your nails and cuticles!
St Tropez Watermelon Gradual Tan. I use the St Tropez Express Mousse religiously once it gets to be warmer outside, but I’ve been using this all month and love it! The first few times I mixed it with moisturizer but I’ve just been using it alone now. It’s very natural and smells really good. Last year I really liked The Gradual Lotion so I want to finish the bottle to see how it compares. So far so good though.
Kat Von D Lovesick + Fresh Sugar Nude Balm. This has been my go-to lipstick recently! I love the combo. It’s an unusual combo, but I discovered it out of desperation and needing a balm over the dry liquid lipstick. I love how it looks.
P.S. last night I did an instagram live talking about these favorites! It should be available to watch until tonight, then I’ll probably put it on my IGTV.
I’d love to know what you are loving this month! What do you have your eye on for spring and summer? I just got the Tan Luxe drops for face and body so I’m excited to see how those work. Share below!

Any hints for getting drunk elephant on the cheap(er)? I know Sephora has 15% off a couple of times a year, but it’s still rather steep for this grad student on a budget!
ugh i wish!! i know, it is so pricey. i usually only buy during the sephora sale twice a year!

All great brands! Right now I’m really into Elemis.
I also really like Elemis. And drunk elephant.
i love elemis!
How do you like the dr. Gross eye serum? I’ve been using it, but not seeing much improvement in those little lines…
i like it! i don’t necessarily see any improvement either, but i guess i didn’t expect to – i sort of feel like the only thing that will improve the lines is probably botox or something, haha. i mostly use it as preventative for more wrinkles! :)
Love your lists. Purchased two of the Drunk Elephant am products today. But wondering what you use for sunscreen in the am ? And how do you layer the products ?
Thanks
my favorite sunscreen for face is the supergoop everyday! i will layer it over my skincare products about 15ish minutes after (as long as i’m not wearing makeup). the BB cream i use has 40 SPF and i do take it down my neck, but most of the time i still use the super goop! https://www.sephora.com/product/everyday-sunscreen-broad-spectrum-spf-50-P386194?icid2=products%20grid:p386194:product
i also really like this one by dr jart – a fluid sunscreen? but i can’t seem to find it online anywhere now! :(
Its the end of March…and my skin is still bone dry. LOL i guess i gotta get over that i now have dryer skin aka i’m not oily and 22 anymore ;)
I’ve been piling on Lala Reto Whipped Cream and the Sunday Riley Juno Oil which is my fave oil at night. I just got out a roller lash mascara and forgot how much i liked the plasticy brush, though sometimes i do find it makes my eyes lashes stick together and i have to be careful with my comb out. And mostly only one eye ? Does that happen to anyone else ? Mascara looks perfect with minimal effort on one eye but the other even with 5 mins of application and separating, etc still wonky ?
I just got the dr dennis gross peel pads but have not used them yet. My skin broke out a bit last week (from what ? ) so im waiting for it to settle back down before i throw something else at it.
Interesting your experience w born this way concealer. i also LOVED it at first but this last week or so have been a little….meh about it. Mostly because it was creasing a bit on me and then i try to set with powder, even a minimal amount, and then it would look dry. i am pretty sure i will go to my grave still searching for the perfect under eye concealer :) Love these posts.
