February Favorites: Beauty.
February faves are here!!
Okay so I have five things that I’m reallllly loving this month.
But first, let’s talk about some things I’ve been using that I’m still on the fence about. During a Dermstore sale, I got this Skincueticals b5 hydrating gel and I think I’m liking it so far. I also ended up getting the hyaluronic intensifier and… I think it’s breaking me out! Which is weird, because I rarely break out from products. I also got this hydra balm and am using it for majorly dry skin.
I’ve also been using this YSL touche eclat high coverage concealer. I didn’t even know this existed until my lash girl told me! The original YSL pen concealer is one I used for ages (and it might have even sparked my first beauty faves post!) and I was so excited to find a higher coverage one. Annnnd I also got the tatcha lip mask a few weeks ago. Sort of on the fence? I just don’t see what is so special about it.
What new things have you been trying?!
Here’s what I’m loving this month!
Handheld Mini Fan!! This might sound ridiculous, but if you’re someone who uses setting spray or mist with your makeup, this is a game changer. I’ve wanted one for ages and it’s something that makes a huge difference right after you spray the setting spray. I no longer have to find an eye shadow palette or something to fan my face!
Watermelon Glow Lip Pop. Okay I am obsessed with this!! There are a few lip balm/glosses that I adore – ones that can be put on without a mirror and just look so flattering. This is another one and I love it. Not only does it smell so good (so watermelon-y!) it’s the prettiest pink shade and also moisturizing at the same time. It was an impulse purchase and I just love it.
Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast. IN LOVE. I like this better than dry shampoo (I think it might have a little in it?) – it adds the most perfect volume to my hair. It’s so EASY and it doesn’t make it tangly or anything. Love it.
Drunk Elephant F Balm Mask. I’ve used a Dr Jart overnight mask for years that I can’t find anymore (like at least seven? eight?) and it’s what I always go back to. But since I love so many DE products, I decided to try this and it.is.great. It actually reminds me exactly of the Dr Jart one. My skin is parched at the moment and this is really saving it.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush. I’ve been using the glossier cloud paint for at least a year (maybe two) and grabbed a powder blush on a whim. I love this one because it has my favorite hourglass highlighter swirled in.
Annnd that’s it! Share you faves below with me!
[as usual, none of this is sponsored and all of these products were purchased by me. i am not affiliated with any of the companies above, nor do i accept free products. just love to talk about what i like, makeup junkie to makeup junkie. there are some amazon and general reward style affiliate links above. thank you for being here!]

I’ve been using the Dr. Jart overnight mask from your recommendation too! I think it’s discontinued because I also can’t find it anymore. I’ll have to try this drunk elephant rec once my current Dr. Jart runs out
With you on the Tatcha Kissu lip mask! I like the texture of it but I don’t find it to be that hydrating at all. Definitely like Laneige or Qtica way better.
The hourglass blush is so good! You should try the hourglass mascara!
That is really interesting that you said that about the hyaluronic intensifier- I almost never break out either and started using this “cult following” hyaluronic serum, and I also started breaking out! I was so disappointed!
omg! really?! i even googled it and couldn’t find anyone breaking out! also, i broke out on my cheeks which literally NEVER break out, like ever, because my skin is dry. that is so crazy!!!
interesting you bring up lip products. i recently watched a jen loves reviews youtube post on lip balms. i was having such bad chapped lips, peeling, etc. it was gross and quite unprofessional looking. so on her reco i got some eos lip balm. the one in the weird egg shape for like $4. game changer ! my lips are 1000x better. from a $4 lip balm ! who knew ???
other than that….ive been using bye bye undereye concealer recently paired with tarte corrector and its been working well. my undereyes are so dry….ugh. i use eye cream in the AM and apply 2x and let it sink in a lot. then put the tarte corrector on and sometimes some becca undereye brightener to. then i apply a thin layer of the bye bye and use a beauty blender to blend out. then more bye bye, blend out. then a little more corrector (the bye bye is a tiny bit to light and the corrector evens that out a little) and do a final blend out with finger. i LIGHTLY powder (i like hourglass setting). then i dab beauty blender to get rid of powdery finish especially over near my temples. i might get a light crease under my eye but i can rub it out with my finger or cotton swap easily. for whatever reason this has really been working for me. i know so many people struggle with dry undereyes so i thought i would share. it does take time/patience to do so many light layers but worth it for me. Also been loving the glow recipe avacado sleeping mask, ole hendrickson banana bright eye cream, and skinfix eye cream (on your reco so thank you !)
My face has always been seriously dry in the winter and would need a ton of moisturizer. I started using PCA Skin hyaluronic acid boosting serum and I have not had ANY dryness this year!
PCA is really good line. I was a spa manager and we used their products. Their peels are the best.

I just got back from a trip to the Dominican Republic, and though the sunscreen we used was reef-safe and zinc based, I feel like a giant wad of sandpaper right now. The only thing that had been hydrating me is a combination of Herbivore’s Phoenix Oil (seriously worth the splurge – it also heals blemishes), and the Biossance squalane and and omega repair cream (sample score!). And I’m also using LaNeige Cica overnight mask which has been a gift for my newly sensitive skin (thank you perimenopause).
