Rainy Day Sunset.

This is the puzzle from hell. It is extremely difficult. I’m sure multiple margaritas don’t help either. After our midday naps, we ventured out to Charlevoix to explore and watch the sunset. To get there, we rode the Ironton Ferry , which has been around forever. We oogled at this house. If you have a few million, it’s up for sale. Then we made our way to the lighthouse in time for the sunset. And pretty things like this happened. Check out the bridge being raised for the sailboat: We found an amazing taffy store. Mary was more excited than a dog in heat. They had over 90 different flavors. Someone spent a ridiculous amount of money on taffy. We came home and had pizza, then sat by the fire and made s’mores. I love the lake at night. Why don’t I live here? I’d even let Mr. How Sweet come with me. I kinda miss the guy.

Morning Stroll.

It was rainy and dreary when we woke up this morning. I don’t mind at all; as long as I am here I am a happy camper. We decided to head to the farmer’s market early.  My grandma loved this farmer’s market and it was always a tradition to go. This was only my first or second time carrying my camera around and for some reason it makes me so self conscious. I am a loon. Did you expect to see vegetables? You know I don’t roll that way. Petoskey stones! We walked around town some more and then we came across this. We just couldn’t resist. It was the perfect mid-morning snack. Pancakes leave you hungry. I hope when I die, I go to a place like this. Some bacon wouldn’t be bad either. I relinquished control of my camera and handed it over to Mary who loves to take pictures. This used book store has been around for ages. It is so quaint and quiet. We had a little impromptu photo shoot too. I might develop a complex since Mary takes better pictures than me. We walked and shopped a little more before noon. (Mr. How Sweet – [...]

Love It Here.

We finally made it to Northern Michigan after 9 long hours in the car. What did I do before I had a wireless network card? Even though it didn’t work for the first 3 hours I attempted, “George” from India got it all straightened out for me after 65 minutes on the phone. 35 of those minutes were spent with me trying to understand what he was saying. It was beautiful out when we reached our destination. Our Friday night tradition is to go to a local bar and get all-you-can-eat white fish and chips. The place has been in business for years and getting a table is impossible. But my brother Andy and his girlfriend Mary got there early and got us a seat. How cute are they? Somewhere in Pennsylvania my other brother is throwing up. I normally do not like deep-fried foods because I think they all taste the same. I can rarely taste the flavor, but this fish is a totally different story. It is lightly battered and probably the best fish I’ve ever had. They throw this on your table and you all fend for yourself. I cover my fries in salt and vinegar because [...]
