What We’re Eating.
Many days I suffer from ‘cooker’s block.’
I want to cook, but have no idea what I want. And more than wanting to cook, I want to eat.
Cooking is just a vehicle.
Over the past few months, I have made multiple recipes that I have found on blogs.
I wanted to document them to show you some of the delicious recipes out there that we are loving.
I’ve made the high-fiber marshmallow treats from Estela, and we absolutely love these.
They are basically a high-fiber rice krispy treat. Mr. How Sweet loves rice krispy treats. He loves that so much, that often he take down the entire pan immediately after I make them.
I tried to warn him that it would not be good idea to eat this entire pan in one sitting, considering the bars are full of FIBER.
Yeah, that didn’t go over so well.
I have made the healthy boneless buffalo strips from Active Foodie probably 5 or 6 times by now.
We LOVE these. Mr. How Sweet asks for them every week. You can’t even tell that these are a lightened-up version of a classic.
One of my other favorite’s is better-than-bottled balsamic dressing from Angela.
We know I hate veggies, but I do love an occasional salad. I would probably eat more salads, but have never really found a dressing I love. I tend to often use only vinegar because I love the tartness.
This is my new go-to dressing. I love it! If you make a big batch for the entire week, it also seasons day by day and gets more delicious.
Just this weekend, I made some crunchy quinoa granola from Ashley.
I can’t keep my hands out of this stuff. It is addicting.
Is there a new recipe that you can’t stay away from? What recipes have you come across on a blog that you just can’t live without?
Please share!
Have a great Sunday. :)

One of the reasons I just LOVE blog world is for all the new recipe ideas. That crunchy quinoa looks awesome. I love Tina’s oatmeal bars, Suite Apple Pie (Sarah’s) granola, Green dog wine’s quinoa stew, your chocolate cookies! etc etc- I could go on for days!
Great post! I have made so many new recipes since I started blogging. I have also added new foods into the mix. I love averies raw desserts!
Ohh, all of those things look amazing!! The high fiber crispy treats look amaaazing!
Cooker’s block! I love it. I totally go through the same thing. And that’s why we eat a lot of meatloaf…it’s the one thing I know my guy will always eat (and will eat leftovers). I loved this post because you linked to bloggers I don’t read that often. Now I have new recipe’s to add to my “to-do” list :-)
(That’s my way of saying you should make this a regular feature, haha)
I love finding new recipes on blogs! That dressing looks awesome!
I have to try that vinigrette. It’s look amazing since the first day I saw it
Oh, I’m gonna have to give those high fiber marshmallow treats a try. They look really good!!
I love it that you can find a new recipe to try every day from other blogs :) from this post I got a lot of new ideas, I’m a passionate vinegar lover and that dressing looks awesome.
I’m now in the lookout for a great home-made tzatziki recipe, anyone? :)
Those marshmallow treats do look very good! Sounds like something I will have to try.
I have to give those high-fiber rice krispy treates a try! Thanks for sharing.
I love the healthy buffalo wings! I always buy “fake meat” versions, but would love to try that recipe!
Love this post! Great recipes and blogs!
I’m really dying to make Leah from Nutritionista’s coconut dark chocolate!! On my to-do list!
I’m going to have to try out this marshmallow recipe. Count me in for anything -high fiber-!
I hate it when I get a cooking block. I think when I look at too many great things, I just can’t decided what I want to start with. This weekend, I have been on a huge hummus kick. Anything that is not nailed down is being dipped in!
I would have never guessed that you would have cooker’s block. Each day I come here, you have a new & unique recipe! Keep it up!
OK thanks alot. I had a nice evening planned and now I have to go and make that granola. You stinker. ;)
Blessings beautiful!
Amanda
P.S. I think you are even Prettier then Lauren Conrad… you have the heart AND the hair! :)
Thanks for this post- that chicken looks AMAZING
I’m so glad you like the high fiber marshmallow treats :)
I LOVE your recipes!! And I’ve made quite a few. My favorite to date were the chocolate chewies! Those were soooo good :)
Is that coconut I spot in the crunchy quinoa!? YUMMMM!!!!
Let’s see…Beekeats Chia Granola and Heab’s Maple oaties are amazing if calories are not a worry. Also, HEAB has espoused the virtues of not nuking sweet potatoes- just baking them and OMG OMG OMG they are amazing that way. Also, April (??Not sure the blog) makes a protein cake in the microwave (and I do too now) that’s like a high-protein and denser angel food cake. I found it on Janetha’s Meals and Moves.
Have a great Sunday night!
Thanks for the recipes. They look great. I love when a recipe has a healthy twist added. Another great recipe I have found, aside from yours of course, is The Pioneer Woman’s chicken enchilladas. Oh my! They are fattening (very) but they are so good, her beef enchilladas too. Maybe, you can come up with a healthy version for us! LOL..no pressure.
I love reading blogs for recipe ideas … but the one that I use the most that I found on a blog is a simple green monster :-)
I LOVE those high fiber marshmallow treats, too! So easy and delicious! Currently, pork carnitas! Obsessed!
oh my gosh love what yall are eating!! ahh yumm!!!
best thing i saw on blog world..OIAJ! (but u knew that :) )
I am making Mom’s Home Cooking’s cranberry pork loin AGAIN this week and now even my mom has started making it!
I am so glad that you and Mr. How Sweet enjoy the chicken strips! :) Thank you so much for the feature!
Quinoa granola?! Yes please! I actually have a Costco sized bag of quinoa that is practically begging to be granola-ified
I love Averie’s chia seed pudding and raw cookie balls for sure (www.loveveggiesandyoga.com) <– RAWsomeness! :-D
i was actually going to make a marshmallow inspired thing tonite but realized i dont need to make anything; we have an assload of food in our pantry we need to eat down b4 i make anything. It would only be making food to make it to blog about it and you know more than anyone, that’s just silly :)
YUMMM everything looks so good! that quinoa granola sounds awsome!!! I made some chickpea blondies, they sound wierd but they were SO good! mr sweet would never know that there are garbanzo beans ;)
Isn’t that little flower plate the cutest? It was a gift but its from Pier 1 I believe
OMG…sooo glad you liked the quinoa granola!! I have seen it on at least 3 blogs now!! Which is so exciting..I’m always nervous when people try my “pulled it out of my arse” recipes. lol :)
Those are all great recipes! I’m especially interested in the high fiber marshmallow treats… I love marshmallow treats and a healthier version sounds good to me!
That quinoa granola looks awesome…must try. There are soooo many recipes I can’t keep my hands off of. Surprisingly one of them are my Kale Chips, no kidding! (never thought I would say that!)
