Echofon-Twitter
wunderlist-great to organize and have all kinds of lists
tunein radio-awesome to listen to any radio show, radio station around the world
camera+-beats instagram hands down! You can do so many more things with it
I got my iphone early last year and still don’t have any apps on it…(altho I’ve played angry birds on a friends ipad and got kind of hooked.) So hopefully I will learn along with you.
Lovely blog. To be self-taught, your photography is excellent and the recipes look wonderful…. also share the bacon devotion…look forward to exploring!
The usual…twitter, facebook, your bank’s app! I also have several cooking ones. Congratulations – you’re gonna love your iphone. I couldn’t hold out for a white one – I switched over years ago…when they only had black.
Jessica… Thanx for this post! I read all the comments and made a list of what I want to try with my phone :-)
I have the Sprint HTC/Evo 4G. Whatever all that means. Have a fabulous 4th of July! XoXo
Get:
– instagram
– Around me – this one gives you restaurants, pubs, banks, gas stations, etc.
– pandora
– ifacefat haha
– don’t get field goal though or mr. how sweet will never give you your phone back
My husband and I have the HTC Thunderbolt Android phones. There’s an app called Groceries. We love it because you can carry your grocery list with you everywhere and when you think of something you need, just put it on the phone. When another person has the same app paired to your phone, they can add a grocery item and it shows up on your phone and visa versa! It’s really cool how it works. So when I’m at the store, something could appear on my phone that my husband just put on their. I’m sure the iPhone has something like this.
It comes in way handy. I don’t know what we did without it.
BTW…I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now and love it! Keep up the good work.
I just got mine earlier this week,
Instagram is awesome for photosharing & being able to publish to web from your phone.
Hipstamatic is another photo one with multiple lenses and films, and also can publish to web.
Urban Spoon is good if you are looking for reviews on the run
and then of course Emoji Pro because having a variety of emoticons to make you laugh is always needed.
OPI has an app too, and my sister uses it and loves it.
Grocery IQ is cool… I use it all the time for shopping.
Yelp is a must for reviews/pics of restaurants.
Also I personally can’t live without NPR Music… you can listen to some music from cool bands before the album is released (ex. Death Cab, Bon Iver, and more). If you’re into that kind of stuff.
I’ve gone through about 500 or 600 apps, the only ones that have actually stuck and I still use are:
Tweetbot for Twitter (I like “Echofon” and “Twitter” too but I’m really digging this one) – $free
Facebook – $free
Yelp – $free
Instagram (you take photos, give them a nice toy-camera looking filter and then it goes in a “timeline” with your other friends photos) – $free
Amazon.com – $free
Photosynth (for creating neat Virtual Reality images and panoramas) – $free
Diptic (the best diptych app out there) – $0.99
Remote (I use this to control my iTunes on my computer, we have speakers hooked up to our Apple base station throughout our house and I can change the volume and songs with this app) – $free
Cooks Illustrated – $free
Tiny Wings (GREAT game! It is simple, cute, doesn’t require much thinking, has adorable music and sounds. It’s the perfect game for when you’re waiting in line) – $0.99
Fruit Ninja (fun game, especially “Arcade Mode”. I get really competitive with this game) – $0.99
Angry Birds (everyone loves this game, I don’t really play any more but I still recommend it) – $0.99
Plants Vs. Zombies (this is a really quirky one, it used to cost $9.99 but I think it’s $1.99 now)
Bejeweled (very addicting if you like Tetris style games) – $0.99
pandora, shazam, imdb, starbucks (if you’re into that sorta thing), all ur bank apps, amazon.com, skype, flickr if you use it, ps express, pixelpipe, paypal, shortener….did I overwhelm you yet ;)
Love my phone:)
shazam (when you don’t know name of a song on the radio and it is driving you crazy)
scanner (for scanning a bar code to find the item’s best price near you)
speak it (directions to nearest whatever you are looking for i.e. safeway….by speaking name into phone )
groupon
gas buddy
exspensify (takes photo of receipts that can be uploaded into Quickbooks/reduces paper clutter)
gps drive (type in address to get voice driving directions to it)
flixster (movies,times and locations)
Sadly, I don’t have an iPhone, but I do have an iPod which works just as well, minus the accessing internet everywhere I go. My favourite free apps are Grocery iQ (you’re not limited to grocery store lists, you can set it up for all sorts of different stores), Turtle Fly, Doodle Jump, Line Birds, Plants vs Zombies (I’ve played every version of this and I never get bored), Shape Shift, Mahjong Elements, Instagram, Foodgawker, Craftgawker, Pinterest, Camera Sharp’s not too bad (I use it for zooming mostly), and I just set up Kindle which looks good (I plan on catching up on all the classic books I haven’t read — which are free! I’m really big on free stuff).
I love my iPhone! Here are some of my favorite apps:
My Fitness Pal
The Weather Channel
Goodreads
Facebook
Twitter
Netflix (I watch movies at the gym lol)
Betty Crocker, iFood (Kraft), AllRecipesPro
Yahoo Music, Pandora, KLOVE
Instagram
and Soundhound (to tell me who is singing that song!)
You know, the more I think about it, we should have a “How Sweet Eats” app =)
Fitness:
iMapMyRUN (tracks runs/walks to tell you distance/mileage/pace/calories burned, etc.)
MyFitnessPal (track calories and look up calorie counts)
Fun:
Talking Tom
Scrabble
Flixster (movies)
Pandora (music)
Ha ha, if you’re late to the party then I am super late! I plan on getting an iPhone (my first smartphone!) after my vacation this week. I have been looking at it for a few weeks and consulting with people who already have one. So far everyone loves theirs! And now that you have taken the plunge I am definitely getting one. And I’m getting the white one too! Yay! I will reference this post later for all the cool app suggestions from everyone.
I have a blackberry, but have an iPad so I can play with all the apps!
I’m going to have to download the cooks illustrated. I like the Kindle app on my iPad, but see how it might get annoying on the iPhone. The Epicurious app is fun to poke around with too.
Runkeeper – Tells you how far you’ve gone, avg. pace, calories burned and tracks your route on walks, jogs or bike rides! Really great app and free!
and Pandora!
Everything else I’d rather just do on the computer, like Twitter and Facebook are better on the computer and I don’t need to take it everywhere I go, know what I’m saying? :)
If you have recently lost or broke a flashlight, or if you are in the market for a new, better brand, then you are probably facing a lot of decisions about what kind of flashlight to purchase, and what will work best for your various needs. LED flashlights have risen in popularity, as have batteryless flashlights. `’

Whoops! Love *YOUR* blog. Man, it drives me nuts when people mess that up and now I go and do it.
That was embarrassing.
I’ve gone through about 500 or 600 apps, the only ones that have actually stuck and I still use are:

I have a blackberry, but have an iPad so I can play with all the apps!

For games, I recently got Cows Vs. Aliens and am obsessed with it. I also have Smurfs’ Village which I recommend because of my childhood, hahaha.
