Things I’m {Currently} Obsessing Over.
This TJ’s tricolor quinoa.
We’ve loved quinoa for years, but this makes it 800 times more fun to eat.
The pinto beans and bacon bubbling away on my stove. OMG.
This chicken. !!!
This chocolate that has magic powers since it somehow jumped into my grocery cart.
Not as good as my fave Lindt sea salt chocolate, but still fab.
Avocado toasts. They will never, ever, ever get old. Ever ever.
The way I’m still wasting my life away on Pinterest.
This face scrub.
I’ve used Yes to Carrots daily moisturizer as my daytime face :stuff: for years, but just recently picked up the scrub. It is so gentle yet really cleansing at the same time. Lovey dovey.
My spur-of-the-moment lunch today.
When Bella sits pretty.
This.
Obviously.
The fact that I’m almost through Dexter which means I can finally regain my productive life back.
This blog. As usual.
Anything that Rachel writes. Really. Anything.
These.
I wasn’t joking when I said earlier in the week that I literally thought my lips were going to fall off. I was three steps away from Urgent Care when my screwy combo of Neosporin cream topped with Aquaphor 8 times a day started to kick in. These are the only things that have been soothing when I don’t have that combo.
Annnnnd the fact that tonight’s dinner basically REQUIRES me to have a margarita. Or at least a tequila shot.

The puppy!! The puppy! And Katies blog and salty chocolate all get my vote too!!
I love those almond and sea salt bars, so delicious!
how do we have almost all the same things and we’ve still never met?
I have almost everything by Yes To… and love it all! Carrot body wash, tomato shampoon/conditioner, blueberry facewash, carrot SPF lotion. love everything.
and i have that same avocado lipbalm – it’s So good!!!
Guess where Chocolove is made?? Boulder Coloradooooo! :) I will put a smoothie in the mail for you. I’ll pack some dry ice. Tri colored quinoa is definitely more fun! Will have to have my mom grab that for me before she comes to CO in April. xo
We might have Chocolove, but we do not have TJ’s Speculoos bars.. YET.
April cannot come soon enough.
* To clarify: April can’t come soon enough because that’s when TJ’s is rumored to open in Boulder. Not because of your mom. But that’s cool, too.
Awkward…
I’m in love with that almonds and sea salt dark chocolate bar, we were just eating it over the weekend. Sea salt in chocolate just takes it over the edge.
I have been craving bagels all month:) yummy!
What?!? Trader Joe’s has a cookie butter chocolate bar?!? I was so sad when I realized they weren’t going to sell their cookie butter year-round. I am getting in the car to buy some as we speak.
Thanks for recommending Rachel – great stuff!
And by the way, I heart your blog oh so much. You’ve got a great voice and ridiculously great sense of humor!
Lindt sea salt chocolate is my favorite too!!! I love that stuff! And I’m going to have to go get some of that tri color quinoa. Looks delish!
OK so first of all, that chocolate bar has been my post-dinner treat for the past few weeks and I LOVE IT. I was actually thinking I need to get myself to Whole Foods tonight because I’m all out and I’m starting to get cranky. It’s just SO GOOD.
Second of all, I can’t believe I’m on the list! Considering that you’re a household name around these parts, the feeling is most definitely mutual!
Love your obsessions. I want to hop over the ocean and buy all that chocolate. Yum.
Enjoy your margarita and/or shots. And that lip stuff, okay, I’m sold. My lips are so dry here, too. It’s soooo dry. And I am prone to dry lips anyway. I have been using Carmex, in a tube/stick for years and it’s the only thing that works. I’ve also tried the aquaphor/neosporin combo but it’s not as good as Carmex. Good old fashioned but works. But I’ll try the Alba.
And that face scrub. Okay, thanks b/c I am sick of the $50 Lancome I use. Love it, but ya know$$.
No Choc Cookie Butter or ANY at my store. I scored it yesterday and talked to the employees…they looked at me like I was crazy and no plans to get the choc anytime soon.
So much chocolate in this post! I need some now!!
My lips freaked out last week… And being the genius I am it took me days to realise it was probably the Lush sugar scrub. Owowowowowwwww.
Also now I’m craving cookie butter. :p
I must find that cookie chocolate!! I will have to scour every single TJ’s near me. :-)
Given your love for all things beauty, I have to recommend that you get a Clairisonic face brush. I’ve had mine a week and it is LIFE CHANGING. Mr. How Sweet will need to understand that this is a necessary expense. Promise, it’s worth it!
I’m DYING for one!!
I found some delish Jalapeno Lime concentrate so every night I’ve been making a witch’s brew of Rio Grande Valley grapefruit juice, tequila, triple sec, fresh lime, and jalapeno lime concentrate. Pour it into a chubby lil’ Ball jar that has had its rim dipped in sugar, kosher salt, and super sweet spicy salt… thing I found at the Mexican market. Literally had one every night this week! So yummy. Also, you give me major Trader Joe’s envy.
You are my kind of girl. Seriously.
I need that chocolate in my life ASAP, as in if it wasn’t raining, I would totally drive to Whole Foods and look for it even though 3 chocolate bars jumped in my cart yesterday at Trader Joe’s. Speaking of lip balm, I am completely obsessed with EOS, it looks like an egg (random, I know) and it’s incredible!!
I’ve had it before, it is soooo smooth!
Oooh gotta have that multi-colored quinoa.
And Yes To products are great…I started with Carrots but now use the entire face line for Yes to Blueberries…makes my face very even, smooth and glow-y.
Need to check out those chapsticks…I always think yes I found the perfect one, then it just seems to not help or I lose it. I lose at least 8 sticks a year.
AH i need to look for those chapsticks…im SORTA obsessed with chapsticks…I think I have 15+ in all pockets of jackets all over my house..seriously
I’ve had the quinoa with veggies from TJ’s, but never that kind. I’ll have to look for it next time.
Okay, fairly new here and loving your blog. I’ve been behind the times – WAY behind the times. I’ve been hearing all sorts of great things about Pinterest. Now, is there some place where a total non-techie/dolt can figure out how to use it?
Absolutely LOVE the post on homemade snickers bars – that is on my weekend to-do list!
Are you on it already? You need an invite. Let me know, I’ll send you one if you aren’t on yet.
No, I’m not. I really know nothing about it except it looks awesome and everyone says it is great! Thanks!
oooo everything looks good.
Yeah, blood orange EVERYTHING lately. I am so obsessed.
Also, I wonder if people get sick of us linking to each other’s blogs – I don’t cuuurr…I love you so.
Mmm, chocolate. Now I’m hungry!
Since I just turned 21 I think you and I should take tequila shots. Seriously.
Or uh, a cake batter martini. I won’t be picky but I really do like sprinkles…
PS Bella is, by far, the fluffiest little cutiepie I’ve ever seen. I just want to bury my face in her fluff!!
What a cool post, loved it!
When I saw that chocolate with SPECULAAS bits in it, my heart missed a beat or two. Literally… I must find some of that precious concoction, or I won’t be able to sleep. We don’t have a Trader Joe’s within 1000 miles of where I live. So, see what you did to me? (sigh)
Sounds like the makings for a great weekend!
Wooah! Trader Joe’s is certainly going all out with there Cookie Butter. They know thats going to be a top seller. I have yet to try quinoa, but I need to. I have a box of it in my cupboard too!!
Bella is so cute!!
Have a great weekend!!
I GOT THAT SPECULOOS FILLED CHOCOLATE BAR TOO!! It was a total impulse buy and I do not regret it at all.
The last thing is my personal favorite…sometimes I make Mexican just so I can have a Corona. Not that I need an excuse…
Tri-color quinoa looks super fun. I love Dexter. I can’t wait for the final season to come out on DVD (because I am too cheap to pay for Showtime!). Happy Friday!
Have you tried the ‘yes to carrots’ body cream? It’s so rich and great for dry skin! Love the dark chocolate Mmmmm!
I am OBSESSING over your marshmallow frosting recipe which I made today and your funfetti cupcakes for my son’s BD. YUM! Thanks!!!

I love those dark chocolate bars with Speculoos spread! It satisfied my craving while we’re out of cookie butter. And I have the coconut chap stick too!
My son has had super chapped lips for years. We tried Carmex and realized it just dried them out more. We then switched to aquafor/neosporin a million times a day. He would get frantic if we went somewhere and he didn’t have all of his “lip stuff.”. Then we found Palmer’s cocobutter sticks. They work so well. His chapped lips are gone and he can now just use the cocobutter to prevent them from comming back.
I must say, we REALLY need one TJ’s here in Orlando!! Like, right now :D
Sorry, I’m totally behind and catching up on my blogs, but I had to say that we love Chocolove at my work! I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t go to our health food store in town because I just buy all the yummy junk food they have! :P I’ll have to try yes to carrots, I’ve always been curious about their line.

Coupon for your yes to carrots obsession :)
Just came across your blog and can’t stop reading all the great recipes. But first to add to the dry lip discussion. I was on a mission for one year to find a product that would solve my chapstick addiction and applying it a thousand times in one day. The winner Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream skin Protectant. It comes in a tube and a stick but the tube is the best ever. Feel a little foolish when applying a large tube of gel to your lips, but the stuff works!
I just started using Yes to Blueberries face wash. It smells sooo yummy, and nourishes my skin really well. I’m still not sure how well it’s actually washing my face, though. I do love how their products are made from 100% natural ingredients – no parabens, SLS, etc.
