Homemade Weekend Brunching.
Less than 24 hours after returning from vacation and one rushed load of laundry later, my husband had to jet off for a work trip. I decided to surprise him with a big brunch when he got home yesterday afternoon, complete with whole wheat blueberry pancakes, bacon, toast, sweet potato hash browns, eggs cooked in bacon grease, cantaloupe, fried pancetta, warm syrup and orange juice.
Then after we ate, I asked what he had for breakfast at the airport, to which he responded with “ummm… eggs, hash browns, pancakes and bacon.”
Of course.
[P.S. clearly I’m still trying to like coffee. A pile of sugar and giant pour of coconut milk later, still wanted to choke it up. It’s cool though. I have other plans for that flavor. Grand plans.]

Next time Mr. Sweet goes out of town, I’ll come over for breakfast and I won’t have eaten anything :) That coffee…it’s on my list now…FAVORTIE combo!
If your plans fall through you can feel free to send that coffee my way. I kind of want to curl up and live inside that bag, and roll around in the beans like a giant ball pit of delicious smells and caffeine. Is that weird?
Beautiful photo series — sometimes fewer words are better.
I would like to come have brunch with you!!
Oh my gosh. You’re killing me. I’m sitting here sipping my green smoothie being entirely unsatisfied now. Yummmmmm.

Eggs cooked in bacon grease – that’s what we call Dirty Eggs at our house. LOVE dirty eggs!!
Love your blog! I want to reach in and touch grab a bite of food as all the pictures make everything look just uhmazing!
After we’d been together a few months (and, admittedly, back when I was vegetarian) my husband confessed – when drunk – that when I invited him over for dinner he would get a Maccy D’s on the way to mine …. (!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!)
Sweet potato hash browns?! YUM!!!
What a spread! Love how you serve coffee in mason jar mugs. Coconut milk is a fresh idea for a creamer. Gotta try that. Thanks!
that bread looks fantastic…is there a recipe for it?

I need to be better at not checking your site on an empty stomach.
OMG! I want that coffee! Where did you get it?
P.S. Can I come for breakfast?
Wow!!! How did you get that awesome steam photo??? I always come to your website to show my students your wonderful photography!!! Awesome pics!!!
Can I just tell you how FABULOUS your photography is getting?? What is your secret? You must tell me in Oregon. (since you kinda owe me for that one, lol!)
I love this post :-)
Shouldn’t have looked at this on an empty stomach haha
Have you tried putting sweetened condensed milk in your coffee? It’s…
So
Good.
Maybe you’ll like it! :)
Also, I love that you have not one, but two types of bacon. You’re awesome.
I think you like producing envy out of people.
Fantastic photos! The one where you captured the steam coming off the veggies is awesome. Is pancetta like proscuitto? And the blueberry pancakes look amazing…if you ever felt compelled to try gluten-free baking, I would be the first to follow your recipe!
im seriously actually drooling

Ladies, i have a question for you! Does Coconut Milk taste sweeter then your normal run of the mill milk??
I thought we were friends…where’s my invitation???!!!
Jessica, you’re killin’ me. You’ve raised the bar for brunch. I now have to step up my game.
Where oh where did you get those juice glasses? I love them!!!!
What did you put in your Sweet Potato Hash Browns?
So… Apparently I need to adjust my browser settings to not allow me to view your blog in the morning. Your pictures and recipes are phenomenal! And my tummy is grumbling with rage that it cannot devour what is pictured above!
