September Favorites: Food + Fun.
These nine west heels. I bought them over Labor Day with 40% off and lovelovelove them. The crystals are colored holographic set in rose gold so they really sparkle. So obnoxious.
Cheese boards! Still going nuts over cheese boards. On top of that, I’m dying over the cypress grove truffle tremor. Still loving humboldt fog. And OMG, these sweet and tangy peppers from delallo’s. Not sure if you can find those yet in stores, but I live five minutes from the store and well, it’s my grocery store. You can order them, I think. SO FLIPPING GOOD. We ate three jars in two days. Last week they gifted me two jars to try and this weekend I just bought four more. Best things ever. Insert embarrassed emoji here.
This faux leather sash belt from zara. I am freaking obsessed with this. I’ve worn it with so many things already. I’m also in love with all things leather right now. I love the clothing with the tiny leather details. Ugh.
For books… the fault in our stars. Recommended by Kristen and a bunch of you in the comments a few posts ago. I can’t even talk about it. And apparently it’s young adult fiction which I rarely go for. But it was great. I’m also going to read Nicholas Sparks’ new novel when I travel later this week.
My favorite breakfast slash snack from last year: toast with a layer of peanut butter, pumpkin or apple butter and microwaved frozen blueberries. So good.
Fall candles. It’s no secret that my favorite fall scent is leaves, but last year I fell in love with cider lane. This year, I already burned pumpkin apple and pumpkin carving and holy crap – they smelled incredible. I want to get another one, stat. You know that episode of Sex and the City where Samantha says “women with candles are replacing women with cats?” Yeah. That’s me.
Scarves! Even though it’s still warm, it cools down at night and my scarf infatuation is back with a vengeance. I forsee lots of scarf posts in the next few months.
Pistachio gelato. Well, just all things pistachio in general. They have been one of my go-to snacks this month. A big old handful.
Uh, so much TV. Dexter, Boardwalk, Nashville, Homeland (even though they both just began again)… still watching West Wing reruns. Can’t stop. I did actually watch the Breaking Bad finale last night even though I don’t watch the show. You guys always ask if I watch it – I don’t, my husband does. I tried to get into it and have probably watched more than 10 episodes total. I think it’s an incredible show, great writing, acting, etc (in fact, I love almost all AMC shows, it’s like baby HBO), but it’s just not my cup of tea. Probably not enough pink, romance, glitter and feel good fairytales. Just being honest. Perhaps at some point in my life I’ll love it more.
Everything royal blue. Or cobalt blue. I’m absolutely in love with wearing this color and I think it’s because my hair is dark and I just love the contrast. I want a royal blue coat so badly.
Dunkin iced pumpkin coffees. Yes, I went there. Though I’m having a heart attack because if I ordered it with cream or whole milk, the coffee comes out WHITE! They put some much in it that it ruins the flavor. So I ask for skim (blech) or half the cream they’d usually use. I’ve had one from Starbucks too, but prefer Dunkin.
This little love bracelet. Hello. I am forever 13 years old.

would love to see some examples of how you wore that wrap belt. I have one, but I am struggling with how to wear it.
Love those shoes! And the black & white striped dress/skirt!
So glad you enjoyed The Fault in Our Stars! Did you know they’re currently making a movie? John’s other books are different, but I love them just as much- check them out if you get a chance!
I second that! I love his books- definitely worth the read.
Also – they filmed The Fault in Our Stars in Pittsburgh!!
YES to cider lane! I am currently burning that one now!!
1. i need that zara belt, i’m all about the synching of the waist.
2. i can’t stop with my autumn candle. obsessed.
3. i’ve worn a scarf and tights for a week straight,
4. i don’t want breaking bad either. just can’t get into it.
5. i loved the fault in our stars too, sweet and so poignant.
p.s. jean jackets are my bitch: http://semiweeklyeats.blogspot.com/2013/09/work-outfit-2.html
I actually love super creamy iced coffees. Helps combat any watered-down issues that can happen if the ice starts melting. Which isn’t a problem normally since I can guzzle a huge iced coffee way too fast :) I have never tried a Dunkin pumpkin coffee though! I am a big fan of Coffeemate creamers. I can DIY for cheap at home. LOL :)
Love those heels!
You nailed it! Candles and scarves are fall to me. And I could use some new ones – like pronto!
I’ve been trying to get around to reading The Fault in Our Stars, may just have to give it a go. I’ve heard so many great things about the book.

I totally agree with you on everything leather! Pants, shorts, skirts, shirts! I want to outfit myself from head to toe! And I’m with you on the cobalt blue, so pretty.
those shoes are CUTE! I wish I were into heels but whenever I wear them I feel too tall…like I’m trespassing in the upper parts of the atmosphere.
Also, I have a Leaves plug-in thing in my bedroom currently and a Cider Lane room spray for my house…AND a gang of candles since whenever they are on sale I grab at least 3.
Also, your cheeseboards are always SO NUTS! I love seeing pics of em. Love it.
You need this cobalt jacket.

i’ve actually been debating between that one and this one! http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=87049&vid=1&pid=686057012
Go Banana Republic!
I’m always freaked out by DD’s overzealous use of cream, but love the pumpkin coffee. My preferred “blend” is 1 pump pumpkin (since it’s uber sweet to me) and 1 cream…which is so much tastier than trying to get the skim milk right. Love all the candle recs…I might have a small cabinet in my dining room filled with B&BW candles. UNASHAMED. Happy Fall!
Gah! That “love” cuff is adorable. I say that as a 31 year old woman who has been writing that word in that exact script on my arm/leg/foot because secretly I’d like to get a tattoo of it. (I know I actually won’t go through with it.)
You know what candle of theirs you need to try next? Marshmallow fireside. I can’t even talk about it, that’s how heavenly it is.
The last time I went to DD, I asked for an iced coffee with a SPLASH of cream. The coffee ended up white. WTF, does splash mean something different to DD employees?
Umm yes Truffle Tremor is AMAZING! So that must mean Delallo’s finally has it back in stock.
I despise how much cream the DD people put in the coffee. But their pumpkin coffee is the best. It doesn’t help that there are five DD’s within 2 blocks of my office. Can’t stop won’t stop.
But what about that dreeeessss? Need to know over here! :)
Hi I love your blog!
Check out some super cute jewlery https://www.chloeandisabel.com/boutique/prettythings
The BB&W Sweater Weather candle is everything. Just. Everything. I have backups already.
Those shoes are killer! I would never have the guts to wear them, but I still freaking love them!
As for as candles go I am obsessed I LOVE all the fall yankee candles, but I have never tried any from bath and body works. I feel like I NEED the pumpkin apple and pumpkin carving. Those sound awesome!
Also awesome are the cheeseboard!
I’m obsessed with the B&BW fall scents. Have you smelled pumpkin pecan waffle yet? OMG.
OH MY GOD. If you love BBW candles you MUST go smell Blueberry Pumpkin Patch. I think its new this year. It smells like a freakin’ blueberry pancake with some sort of pumpkin swirl. It’s insane. You will die over it, I just know.
AH! I love that you love Humboldt Fog cheese and Cypress Grove. I go to school at Humboldt State University, the area that cheese is from! :) Loooooove it! And I’m absolutely obsessed with anything pumpkin. Just made my first pumpkin pie of the season tonight (early for most, haha but October first is the beginning of pumpkin in my book).
I have a royal blue pea coat and it’s my fave!
Just finished The Fautl in Our Stars last week – I had to put it down a few times as it was extremely emotional for me having watched my Dad go through many of the same things that the characters in the book go through… The honesty of that book was so refreshing – I rank it with The Five People You Meet in Heaven…
I’ve watched all of breaking bad, but I do agree. I was saying last night that I like the show because the writing/directing is amazing, but I’m not that attached to the characters, and I’m not really “sad” that it’s ending. Unlike my feelings about other shows, like Parenthood (I cry every single episode).
Um… do not replace cats with candles! You just need a cat in your life…
As for those DeLallo peppers, I know what’s up on those. I think I ate a jar in 15 minutes. It’s cool.
Fun post. Be good!

They have been fliming The Fault on Our Stars here in Pittsburgh. They were/may still be filming in Oakmont.
Dunkies ALWAYS puts too much cream in. So much so that we started asking for it on the side. Then they’ll give you the “to-go” single serve cream packet and you add your own. Sweet pumpkin perfection!
So glad you’re loving the sweet and tangy peppers! :) Thanks again for all the fun and laughs!
I also watched the last episode of Breaking Bad despite only having seen the first 3 episodes and tidbits here and there. I just couldn’t get into it either, but my husband was adamant about watching it last night! :) Just bought a cobalt cardigan the other day from GAP and have been loving that color mixed with all sorts of crazy combos…I think my favorite is neon orange and olive green.
yeaaaap. bye!

I could totally see you wearing this in the “rhumba” color!
If you love The Fault in Our Stars, read Me Before You next. Love love LOVE that one, too.

If you loved Fault in Our Stars (yay! So glad you did) make sure to read Me Before You and Eleanor and Park. Both soooooo good! I have been on a good book streak lately. I LOVE that! I’m bringing Night Film to read on the way to and in Utah. I’ve heard amazing things about it!
Loved Fault in Our Stars. If you liked that one you would probably also enjoy Forever, Interrupted. So good, and incredibly sad. I read it in one day…just could not put it down.
COBALT is my most favorite color right now! Not just clothing-wise but in general…that was a super clunky sentence oops.
ok. i’m in love with those shoes!
