January Favorites: Beauty.
January’s over? WHAT.
This year isn’t allowed to go as fast as 2013, so I’m not sure what’s happening. But this marks a real one year anniversary that I’ve been sharing my favorites! Oh happy day.
Since the holidays are over, I’ve done away with some of my darker colors even though it’s still freezing outside. I just want it to kinda maybe feel (or look?) like Spring. I did get a few new things at the end of December with some Christmas gift cards and have been basically bathing in body lotion because of this weather. Other than that, my favorites are just my favorites, but you know I like to switch it up! Me = bored easily.
Things I’m still using that I adore but am not mentioning here because it’s insanely repetitive: all the macadamia hair products, the kenra blow dry spray, bond no. 9 west side perfume, my loreal voluminous mascara, the HAC compact from maskcara (I’m using the dark color for the contour but not the light color as often simply out of laziness – I’d rather use something I can put on my face using my hands), my tarte exposed blush, the sephora X nail polishes (omg I adore them), the solar oil cuticle oil (almost finished with my new bottle from last month), the sensitive olay daily face wipes (save me after yoga!), the nars eyeshadow base and the maybelline age rewind concealer. Those are some things that I will probably always love.
Now to this month’s stuff.
First… S.O.S.! Like… save our skin.
My freaking skin. Oh my gosh. So dry in this cold.
These have been in my weekly routine to help cure my dry skin – things for face and body. My skin hates life right now.
First up, this dr. jart sleeping mask. I mentioned it on instagram a few weeks ago and am still totally loving it. The week after Christmas I headed to Sephora armed with gift cards and this is one of the things I bought. I love my dr. jart BB cream in the summer (it’s a little too dark for me in the winter) and thought I may love this too. I mean, I’m also such a sucker – sleeping mask? Hello, my name is Jessica and I’m a marketer’s dream.
You put this stuff on your face over your nightly routine (so even over moisturizer) and wash it off in the morning. I adore it. I’ve been using it about twice a week all month.
The other thing I’ve been using? Um, my new love. Glam glow thirstymud. Just the NAME alone. On that same trip to Sephora, I didn’t even know this was a thing but it was sitting on a display in the front of the store and I just about died. First, because I love the other glam glow masks so much. Second, because it’s a hydrating mask! I don’t think I’ve ever tried a hydrating mask. Third… it freaking smells like vanilla.
OMG. Love it so much. I’m alternating right now between this and the sleeping facial, but using this one as a traditional mask and washing it off before bed. I’ve used it about six times now and I really feel that both products are helping my skin. My face is still a bit dry (but I also just spent five days in Utah and hours on a plane) but with each use of these, it feels more moisturized. And even a little glowy? I may just be dreaming.
I mention this kiehl’s avocado eye cream all the time but I’m using it day and night right now given the condition of my skin. Figured it was worth telling you about again in case your face feels like the desert. It’s almost gone and I need to get another. I love that it’s just SIMPLE. There aren’t a ton of crazy ingredients. It does what it says – moisturizers the crap out of your eye area.
Another Kiehl’s product I’m adoring is the creme de corps. To say this is saving me from scratching myself to death would be an understatement. Here’s the thing: I love body butters, but there is a time and place for them. I hate using the super thick body butters in the morning because then I can barely get on pants. You know – your skin is just so sticky? This lotion is very thick and moisturizing but is not greasy or sticky. I’ve used this hemp lotion for years but my skin is sucking that up like it’s nothing.
So right now, my routine for the morning (or throughout the day) is to use the creme de corps. At night, I used the body butter below.
I go through tons of body shop butters because Ulta always has them on sale or as gift with your reward points. This is my SECOND jar of the cocoa butter scent in the last two months and it’s in the lead. I also love the almond and satsuma, but it (along with others) can be strong. This is mild and delicious. I use it every single night without fail.
It’s also just soooo much like butter. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with this stuff.
I tried something new on my face this month! This it cosmetics CC cream. So, I’ve been doing some in-front-of-the-camera things for my cookbook and definitely needed something a bit more concealing than my favorite tarte moisturizer. I don’t WANT to wear something else, but my complexion definitely comes across better on film. I tried the cover girl foundation that I had mentioned last year – but it totally sticks to every dry patch on my face, even with my heavy cetaphil moisturizer on underneath. I was in Ulta looking for other options and REALLY didn’t want to have to go the foundation route. I grabbed this, looked up reviews on my phone, and was sold.
I really like it. I would even venture to say that it’s almost as moisturizing as the tarte one, but gives a little more coverage? I do have to make sure my face is very moisturized beforehand, but other than that, I’m really happy with it. If I use too much then I definitely notice it, but overall it makes my skin look pretty darn good. I’d say this month I’ve been using this and the tarte split 50/50. I will always use my tarte version because I like them better as a company… this is doing what I need it to though.
One of the reasons is probably because I’m still mixing in some of the benefit high beam. You might remember that all last month I was mixing this with my tarte bb cream and I’ve continued with the cc cream above. I just love this stuff. Still going through my sample but I may need to get a regular bottle once it’s finished.
Speaking of, I definitely have a thing for benefit’s face color in these bottles. Overall, I don’t love benefit products. The packaging is the cutest but I rarely find something that I really love. However, I’m a huge fan of the cha cha tint version, and on that same trip to Sephora I was confronted with this lilac lollitint. As if the name wasn’t cute enough, this sold me because is there anyone else in the universe more excited that the color of the year is radiant orchid? Uh no. I’m dying over it.
That’s not the only reason I bought this – I find these tints to look really natural on cheeks. I don’t use it on my lips, but love it on the face. AND this is my color. Cool toned pinks and purples are my absolute favorites. I’m trying to really brighten up winter.
Obviously. Okay, so you know that dark lipstick I was loving all through Fall? I’ve retired it now. Well, I wore it once in January but I’ve definitely been favoring my pink lipsticks more. Maybe it’s because they look so pretty against the snow? I really just need a pick me up from the cold.
These are all old shades that I pulled out of my makeup case and have talked about before, but I’m pretty sure they are still available. Oh wait – the first one of the left is newer – the revlon matte balm in elusive.  The rest are: MAC st. germain (an all time fave of mine), maybelline shocking coral and NYX butter gloss in eclair (this is my second tube which speaks volumes in lipgloss land).
Okay, I know I’ve mentioned this sugar lip therapy three months in a row, but I can’t get over my love for it. In past favorites, I’ve compared it to my love for the dior creme de rose lipgloss and the burt’s bee’s grapefruit chap stick. They are still my top three. With this one though, I tend to keep it in the house since it’s a bit pricey and don’t want to lose it. I choose it over creme de rose only out of laziness – sometimes it’s easier to swipe it on your lips than open a pot and use your finger.
And the burt’s bees is what comes along in my car, my coat and my purse. It’s stashed everywhere.
This sugar stuff though? Totally worth the price to me. If you’re interested, you might want to see if you can find a sample because when I asked you guys in November, your reviews were split down the middle. I’m on board though.
On to eyes! All month I have stuck to two palettes – the naked 3, which I’m still loving… so much freaking pink. I talked about it a lot last month.
And the lorac pro, which I’ll love until my dying day.
Both are reliable and have every color I want to use on my eyes at the moment. Well, except for neon purple and lots of glitter. But I’m dealing with it. Your thirties suck when it comes to makeup maturity.
I went back to this marc jacobs black liner a few times and still stand by it being the BEST black liner I have ever used. It’s so dark and I love the felt tip.
If I wasn’t wearing black, I was wearing my urban decay 24/7 in underground. I’ve been using this since last month when my mushroom liner ran out. I’ve talked about it a bit before – it’s an iridescent-y brownish. Nothing too harsh or dark.
Even though I received a new bond no. 9 west side for Christmas, I’m trying to ration it all year again. So this month I continued to wear this nest rollerball in midnight fleur (love this for everyday) and my jo malone ginger biscuit. I’m *pretty* sure the ginger biscuit was limited edition last year (hence the ridiculous price, not normally that expensive) – this is my second bottle because after hearing it was temporary, I stocked up last year. I love wearing it this time of year though. It’s a very warm scent as you’d imagine from the name, but it’s not too warm – it doesn’t smell like Christmas. I think it’s perfect right now while it’s freezing out but post-holiday-wishing-for-spring weather.
Oh oh oh! AND. The elizabeth and james perfumes are finally out at sephora and I could not be more excited. The black has my name all over it. Going to use up one of these first though.
My aunt got me a little set of mini zoya polishes for Christmas and this shade (called storm) was one of them. It’s hard to tell in the photo but the sparkles are colorful! I’m all over that. I don’t know why I love black polishes so much but I do.
My favorite dry shampoo! I know I talked about batiste all last year, but after this month it definitely warrants another mention. My hair is like my skin… and plays this whole let’s-be-dry game. I wash my hair every other day or even every third, but I use this a few days a week mostly for texture and volume. I’ve used it a TON this month. I can’t even count the number of bottles I’ve gone through, but this scent is definitely my fave.
And that’s it! I feel like it’s a ton of stuff but I am loving so much this month. Most likely because I’m cooped up in the house and playing artist on my face. I love finding things I bought last year or even before that and getting re-excited about them. Simple things thrill me. So tell me, tell me! What are you loving right now? Did you use stuff that you got around Christmas time? Spill.
[as usual, none of this is sponsored and i am not affiliated with any of these companies. i just have a true makeup obsession. there are a few amazon affiliate links included above. thank you for supporting my site! love.]

I love Kiehl’s products too, especially in the winter!
Ok totally random – when I was reading this blog post the Solar Oil name caught my eye – and I looked over at my desk organizer at work, and it’s the little sample bottle I brought into work ages ago, haha! I don’t use it as often as I should but I will now with your “reminder” haha.
i can’t live without it!
I adore these posts. I also just bought the It Cosmetics CC cream a few weeks ago and I’m head over heels for it. I think it’s perfect. I’m also loving Kat Von D’s neutral palette of mostly shimmers – it’s called the Saint palette. The quality is awesome. And theBalms Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter, Tarte Natural Beauty blush, Kiehls Olive Fruit hair masque, Josie Maran Argan Oil, and Anastasia perfect brow in Taupe! Oh and A bronzer by Sonia Kashuk and Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil.
Okay one more… I think you would love Lorac Unzipped. Do it!
i LOVE the look of the unzipped palette, but it’s pretty warm toned right? i have really cool undertones and i just think the colors would make me look dead. :(
Aaah. That makes sense. Unfortunately that’s what Naked 3 does for me. Haha. Def look a little Walking Dead-ish usimg it. It was a total bummer. Thanks again for all the great recs!!
we must have exact opposite skin tones! :)
I am EXTREMELY cool toned- I have light bleach blonde hair, blue eyes and very fair skin and I love the unzipped palette. The colors are extremely flattering and do come off more neutral (for the most part) then warm. I think that warm eye shadows actually make a cool toned person look less dead lol. I will sometimes work in a cool toned brown into my crease to balance it out. I think you should try it! :)
I adore this post also, It is really inspiring. SO I think to make the similar posts about products I use. I LOVE your beauty posts. I’m a product addict and I love makeup. I just bought the Mac Fix+ spray and OMG I never thought it would be that amazing!!
sunblock cream
How could I forget Revlon lipgloss in Rosy Future and Lacquer balm in Demure. Most perfect flattering pinky-nudes!!!
I crazy stalk your blog toward the end of the month.. I just love these best of beauty posts! The photography! The beautiful colors! The products! Great job as always, summing it up. I recently picked up the it cosmetics cc cream too, I’m struggling a bit with it because it makes any dryness very noticeable on me. Still playing with it. Already looking forward to February’s (not that we want it to go super fast)!
My hands get super dry in the winter so i am loving my Kiehls Intensive Treatment
lotion right now. I broke down and bought the Maskcara IIID set and blush and i loooove how dewy my skin looks. i also can’t live with out my good ol’ candycane Chapstick and my Ameka hairmask! Love shopping for makeup and beaty products around the holidays since there are so many samples and gift sets.
Love these posts! So fun. I bought Naked 3, Lorac Pro, and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eye palettes within the last few months. In terms of colors Naked 3 is just my favorite but oh my goodness the way the Too Faced one SMELLS. So good. I pretty much want to eat it. Chocolate + makeup is just genius. I really like the Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer. My face is picky and this one works for me and has been hydrating enough even during this polar vortex nonsense. I don’t need any more lip products but I have my eye on Lipstick Queen Jean Queen, or maybe a Tarte blush as my next beauty splurge.
i have the chocolate soliel bronzer and it smells like chocolate too – i want to eat it!
Great favorites!
The Glam Glow Thirstymud sounds very interesting! I think I need it!
My friend’s husband called me before the holidays for gift ideas for her and I told him to get Naked 3, which he did, but then he surprised me with one too. Seriously! I love it so much – the colors are perfect for my skin tone. I just started using Benefit Stay Flawless primer after using a sample for a week and I really love it. I also really like their Hello Flawless foundation but I have very normal, not dry skin (and live in WA where it’s been like 40 degrees out most of winter.) I’m a Mary Kay lipstick lover but picked up a Cover Girl lip perfection jumbo gloss balm (say that 5 times fast) at the drug store and I love it. It looks like a giant twist crayon but it’s a nice tinted lip balm thing.
If you love the Kiehls Creme du Corps, you should try the Soy and Honey Whipped version. It is crazy moisturizing and absorbs so quickly.
Also, I used to be a die hard Body Shop body butter fan, but then I ran out and started picking up the Boots version at my local Target. They are much cheaper and I FAR prefer them now. The coconut one, it is the greatest. Not greasy and thick at all like some body butters.
For dry skin on your face, I have started using Boots Organic Face oil w rose hip oil, and I am a total convert. It is the only winter moisturizer to get rid of dry patches on my face & actually make my skin feel soft. You would love
i really wanted to get the whipped one, but i thought it seemed like it might be sticky like the body butters – is it? ad i will look for the boots ones!
My Mom and I call each other on the phone and read your makeup posts together. You’re amazing.
A cookbook, you say?! Congrats!! I can’t wait for it hit to the shelves!!
My skin is so dry too. I hate it. Our dishwasher broke and all of the washing is killing my hands. I love and hate these posts. You have so much product. I don’t think I would know what half this stuff does without your guidance.
Hi Jessica! I too love the Naked 3 palette. Best shadows ever for a fair skinned girl with green eyes. I happened to be in New York the night it debuted at 9 pm and I was so excited to find the Times Square Sephora is open until midnight!
My favorite face moisturizer by far is Bio Oil. I originally bought it to help fade a scar but grabbed it for my face out of despiration last winter and haven’t used another moisturizer since. I could even use it all summer without oiliness and my skin glows like never before! Plus a bottle lasts forever!
Thank you for sharing your favorites with us!
sounds like we have the same face! fair skin, green eyes. :)
I LOVE all LORAC’s eyeshadows. Hautelook has a LORAC sale once every few months it seems, and once you buy one product, you usually get reminders when they will be back on the site. I’ve gotten several kits or palettes at a huge discount this way. Your comment about the body butter stickiness factor really made me laugh – mostly because I totally know what you mean! My favorite cheap steal for non-sticky lotion is a 4-in-1 lotion by C. Booth, which you can get from Walgreen’s. The Lemon Sugar and Vanilla Butter scents are awesome, but not too strong. Also currently loving Laura Mercier’s lip glosses. Love your re-caps!
Really, really need to become more makeup literate.
What?!? A cookbook! Finally. I’m super excited and can’t wait to get an autographed copy! yay!
Okay, next I want to see where you STORE all of these things!!? :) 2013 definitely flew by. I actually feel like January felt long, in a good way. Much longer than the past few months. Not sure how but hopefully it continues.
I was just thinking the same thing. How do u store stuff and keep organized? I could really use some tips
If you like the Hourglass lip gloss, you should try the Hourglass Opaque Rogue! I just got it and it is seriously SO COOL. It’s kind of a fusion between a matte lipstick and a lipstain… I’m so obsessed. I got it in Raven (a bright orangey-red) but apparently Icon has a cult following! Also, have you tried just the Josie Maran Argan oil for your face? I’ve heard great things! I’m always looking for things to moisturize my face at night. ALL IN ALL, I LOVE YOUR POSTS- THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO! :))))
These look like some great products, I especially love all the lip colours :)

I recently bought the Smashbox Full Exposure pallet and love it. There is a good mix of matte and shimmery colors, because I’m immature and can’t get enough eye shimmer. For the holidays, though (and I’m still using them because they’re bright and fun) I bought the Too Faced Merry & Bright holiday pallets. I adore them and wear them almost daily!
I recently discoverd Kiel’s shampoos. I wash my hair every other, every third day and the Amino Acid shampoo does a great job of cleaning and hydrating my hair without weighing it down. They also have one with avocado in it that I love… it’s my once-a-week extra hydrating shampoos.
Loving three IT Cosmetics products that I got recently: their under-eye corrector (it’s not heavy, does just the trick to help on a tired day :); their lip gloss stains (you have to try them! they last forever, the color payoff is great); and they have a new eye shadow palatte with all matte shades (normally, I need some glimmer, but the colors are to die for).
Oh, and have you ever tried any Dermalogica products? Been hearing rave reviews about them, so was just wondering. I see an Ulta trip in my future this weekend.
I love the look of that Marc Jacobs eyeliner. I’ve been using a super cheap one – Jordana Fabuliner ($2.99). I LOVE it, it’s so cheap, dries super fast, and stays completely put all day. I’m generally not into drugstore makeup, but it’s really, really good. Anyway, I so want the Naked 3 palette! And the Lorac palette, now that you mentioned it..
I love kiehls products. I tried something new when my avocado eye cream ran out and now I wish I had stuck with it. Will definitely be going back to it.
I’m still keeping my eye out for that batiste dry shampoo.
One of my new favorite beauty routine products is the Clinique Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser- it removes make up perfectly without being too drying. The last thing I need this winter is more dry skin!
If you like Lollitint from Benefit you should check out Hervana – its their orchid colored powder blush :) Also next time you’re at Sephora, if you’re picking up a new High Beam, take a look at Girl Meets Pearl! Its the most BEAUTIFUL liquid highlighter and the packaging is a bit more functional, IMO. It’s got a mixture of pink and gold in it so it just gives this insane glow. Texture is perfect to mix with foundation or moisturizer. Love these posts from you!
Cetaphil is like my crack in the winter. I used the skin cleanser and the moisturizing cream. I feel the cream is thick, but not like body butters so I can still put pants on in the morning after i use it. My lips tend to get super dry too so i’m addicted to Chapstick and Vaseline at night! Love these posts, I love hearing from someone who has horrible dry skin and is super paie. i feel ya girl!!!!
I would love to see how you store all of your beauty products. You must have a whole room for them all, right?!
Lorac Pro Palette is the love of my life. It would be my desert-island palette. And I’ve heard loads of good things about the It Cosmetics CC Cream. Tiffany D loves that stuff! Also, Zoya polishes are pretty fabulous and they totally don’t get enough love.
Lots of good stuff on here! I’ve been watching Lisa Eldridge makeup tutorials (http://lisaeldridge.com/) she is amazing! She’s a super legit makeup artist over in Europe and she’s so fun to watch/listen to, haha. I recently got a few products I saw on her video that I LOVE. The Clinique chubby stick lip color in Pudgy Peony (really cute pink color). Also, a hydrating thermal spray that’s great for this frigid weather– Avene eau thermale (omg French so fancy) , it is really moisturizing and super gentle for sensitive skin.
I currently have a way-too-long list of cosmetic items that I want, and my boyfriend called me out on buying ANOTHER lipstick the other day…oy.
I am in love with this Suki hydrating oil. http://sukiskincare.com/products/delicate-hydrating-oil.html
I got it where I get my eyebrows done, but you can also get online. i put it on before my make up and it makes my skin look so nice and hydrated. Love it!
Lac Hydrin Five. $15 for 8 oz, a plain white plastic bottle with an ugly jungle green sticker with a roman numeral 5 on it. Apart from greasy old aquaphor, this is the only lotion that helps my dry dry skin. It used to be prescription, which tells you how dry my skin really is, but now it’s available OTC- only at CVS or online (not walgreens, target, walmart, rite aid,…). But I will go out of my way to get it and buy two bottles (sometimes the only two in stock) at a time. I can slather on an entire tub of delightful-smelling lotion or body butter and even Cetaphil and I’ll still have tight, itchy, flaky skin and painful red dry patches. This stuff provides RELIEF. It is fragrance free and definitely not cheap, but it WORKS, and I can put on the good-smelling stuff afterwords. It’s always seemed kinda heavy for my face, so I’ve been using Cetaphil there, but maybe I should just try it because there hasn’t been a day this winter that I haven’t had dry flaky patches popping through my make up.
Never have I so strongly wished I could smell things through a computer as when you talk about the bond perfume. What must it be like? I am so curious.
For the record, my absolute favorite bargain lip balm is Cococare cocoa butter lip balm. You can order them at places like drugstore.com and I’ve seen them in CVS. If you like that body butter scent you mentioned, you will probably love this. And it’s super hydrating. If I put this on at night before I go to bed and in the morning when I get up, my lips are pretty much set. Also, when you were talking about your skin woes, I was thinking that you need to try a face oil! Have you tried any of those yet? I use a seabuckthorn oil at night over my lotion and it helps ebb redness and also is good for aging and acne, but Sephora has a ton of oils available right now. You could add one over your nighttime lotion on your off days from the masks. Highly recommend. Also Weleda Skin Food has been my hands’ saving grace. I just found it recently (you can order through Amazon, etc.), the ingredients are super legit, and it goes on a little greasy but absorbs in like a minute to it doesn’t demobilize you like a lot of other ones do. So good!
Also, do you use a thermal spray? It feels so refreshing, and you can spray it on your face, over your makeup, as many times as you want. Great way to sneak in some moisture after you’ve already done your face for the day!
In december, I was sitting at my desk studying for my 14 finals (no joke, dental school is tough but it’ll be worth it when I’m a dentist in a couple of years!) and I was feeling exhausted, sleep deprived, and a little loopy. It was around 3am and I made an impulse buy of Naked 3 from Sephora’s website, and promised myself I wouldnt open it until after my last final. Opened it after some of the most stressful 8 days of my life and I fell in love. Used it every single day of my winter break.
This past monday, I was studying for more exams (fun fun fun) and I made another huge impulse buy on Sephora’s website. The massive limited edition 3.4 ounce Tarte Maracuja Oil. That bottle… and the box it came in.. my god. I’ve been using it for the last three days and I LOVE it. Never thought I would use face oils but its really great and just three drops moisturizes my whole face.
Mac lipstick in Rebel… LOVE. I’ve gotten an insane amount of compliments on it.
I recommend this EVERY MONTH. IPSY!!! If you havent signed up, why not?! It’s only 10 dollars a month and you get 5-6 deluxe sample size or FULL size beauty products in a cute little makeup bag. I find so many uses for those adorable makeup bags. I’ve gotten Ubran Decay products with them, Benefit products, Macadamia Oil, and even a Beauty Blender! Highly suggest. http://www.ipsy.com/r/11ar
I’m pretty much obsessed with your beauty posts, which in return means I’m slowly becoming a produce junkie (which i love;)!
I’m a big dry shampoo lover and have been wanting to use batiste. Happy to read your recommendation!
I have been using Pacifica Alight multi mineral bb cream all winter. It has a hint of tint and shimmer without making me feel like I have caked on makeup. It is also perfect for my extremely dry & sensitive skin. It has been difficult to find something that both hides imperfections & doesn’t highlight every flake of dry skin. I order 3 at a time because I’m terrified I’ll run out and Target won’t have any more.
I have been using cataphil forever and still love it for winter. I also like Mac marine toner which is slightly moisturizing and it helps with my dry patches. I also got hypnose mascara and Lancôme liquid eyeliner for Xmas and have been loving them both. I looooove ur beauty posts!
I LOVE your beauty posts each month. I’m still pretty new to your blog but these are my total favorites because I’m a product addict and I love makeup. I just bought the Mac Fix+ spray and OMG I had no idea it would be that amazing!
Have you ever tried Klorane dry shampoo with oat milk? I got it as a sample from Birchbox and absolutely love it. It doesn’t have a really strong scent and doesn’t leave white residue in my hair like other dry shampoos. I’ve tried a bunch and it’s definitely my favorite!
My skin has been battling the Polar Vortex this winter too–no amount of lotion, oil, serum, etc was making any difference. But then I got a humidifier for my room to sleep with at night, and it has worked WONDERS. My skin still gets dry towards the end of the day after being out and about, but at least I don’t wake up with dry skin anymore.
PS. found the humidifier in the baby aisle at Target. There’s no need to grow up.
Pingback: WEEKEND LINKS. - PINK LOVES PURPLE
Ahh I LOVE the Batiste dry shampoo. So fantastic. I use the kind that’s meant for blondes because it spews out some root touch-up stuff and it actually works! Usually I’m weary about products that claim to touch up roots but I was pleasantly surprised with Batiste.
I agree about benefit products- they aren’t my fave but I got a sample of the highlighter and I like it! I’ve never thought of mixing it with a BB cream though, so I’ll have to give that a try.
As far as moisturizer goes, I live in the Northwest and if you haven’t heard, we just had the most INSANE snow storm ever. And with it being so cold, my skin and lips have been extra dry. I am a fan of the old school Olay face moisturizer for sensitive skin. It smells great, is super light and it has SPF. For lips, I recently bought the vaseline lip therapy in cocoa butter (mainly because the container is small and super cute) and it’s so great! It actually stays on my lips for a while.
All in all, I love your blog and thanks for the awesome beauty tips!
i’ve been looking for a good dry shampoo i will have to give batiste at try!
OMG – the glam glow is amazing, but have you seen the commercial/video for it? it looks like a total scam and it’s HILARIOUS – but it works SO GOOD. You know a mask is good if it grosses you out when you use it.
Best BB Cream ever — Two Faced. Gives that shimmery, dewey glow that you usually need a highlighting stick for (I use smashbox highlighting wand if I want extra). It’s the only BB cream I’ve found that has a little shimmer without making you feel like a disco ball via 1997…
I loved this post, and your blog is seriously perfect! I just thought I would mention there’s a good dupe for High beam, the Elf shimmering facial whip in lilac petal, it has the exact same look, except it comes in a cream in a tube and not in a bottle.
Plus its only a dollar at target :)
