Happy happy joy joy! My favorite time of the month.

Time is flying and I am using a bunch of the same things as last month. I guess that is good? I’m really loving them then.

Some obvious things I always love… that darn kenra blowdry spray, the batiste dry shampoo, those darn urban decay 24/7 liners. I’m also still using the kiehls creme de corps for my daytime body moisturizer and the glam glow hydrating mask. LOVE THAT. And the dr. jart sleeping mask!

Time to chat favorites… let’s waste time and talk too much about makeup.

First up, let’s talk about face stuff. Apparently the Josie Maran daily moisturizer that I love is being repackaged and won’t be available until April (I found that out by stalking the Josie Maran facebook page) and I ran out awhile ago. I bought this caudalie moisturizer while in Sephora in December, on the recommendation from a sales associate after complaining about my dry skin.

I’ve been using it for over a month and can finally say I do like it. I think I’ve used it long enough to decide. It is unlike any other moisturizer I’ve tried – I would describe it as being thick and silky, and it’s truly the only one I’ve ever tried that gives meaning to the expression “doesn’t feel greasy.” I often feel that it won’t be moisturizing enough because it doesn’t feel heavy… yet, it always is moisturizing enough. Granted I’m still moisturizing like heck at night, so that might be why.

It is pricey, however, and I feel like I need to use a lot of it. I probably don’t, but haven’t worked that out yet. I’m anxious to try it alongside the Josie Maran one when it comes back this Spring and determine which I like better. I think you get more for your money with the Josie one though.

In the same trip, I bought this grape water face spray. I mean, I don’t know if this really does anything, but it’s all about the experience for me. I’ve been using it in place of MAC fix+ (which I’m out of) and also on my bare skin.

I really like it – and probably appreciate the spray quality the most. Every other face spray I use (fix+, urban decay setting sprays) usually craps out on me halfway through the bottle and ends up spraying droplets on my face. This has yet to do that. The mist is perfect and even.

I wouldn’t say it’s an OMGmusthave but if you love beauty products like this and enjoy face mists, it’s pretty cool.

A repeat… but man, I’m really still liking this CC cream. I mentioned this last month, but it gives a bit more coverage than the tarte moisturizer and I really like that at the moment. With my skin being dry, I’m also getting occasional redness and this covers everything. (Keep in mind I hate to use foundation, so if you’re a foundation person, you might not love this.)

Not sure if I will continue to use it as it gets warmer, but it’s definitely been my go-to this month.

And probably for this reason! I talked about the beauty blender a bunch last year. I even bought my mom one and she uses it daily. I love how this evens out my skin with the CC cream above. The only reason I wouldn’t use this everyday is out of pure laziness – sometimes I don’t feel like wetting it. Yeah. I’m lazy.

But the picture on the left is how much it expands after being soaked with water. I find that this has also kept anything from clinging to dry flakes on my face.

Not much to say here, other than I’m still freaking LOVING this benefit lollitint for blush. If possible, I love it even more than last month. It’s so easy. It’s my perfect color. It’s such a GORGEOUS color. The end.

Lips lips lips!

My bright lips didn’t make much of an appearance this last month. I’m allll about light and cool pinks at the moment. The top left is that korres lip butter in jasmine that I never shut up about last year. GAH. I adore this. The color, the moisture. Everything. I had been out of it for awhile and picked it up at the VIB sale last Fall. In love again!

Top right is the pink lemonade revlon lip butter. This is also a repeat love but something I slap on my lips when I’m in a rush and want a little hint of color. I love that I don’t need to use a mirror with these.

Bottom left is MAC snob lipglass. A classic. If you love cool pinks, this is definitely one of the best. Plus, I used to have a serious obsession with MAC lipglass and dazzleglass. I don’t mind the stickiness and actually love how thick the lipglass is. It stays on for hours… at least for me.

Bottom right is another one of those revlon matte balm sticks in elusive. I’ve been going matte on my lips if my eyes are super sparkly. I think this is my third one of these matte balms and they are by far my favorite matte lip products. Not drying like others.

Speaking of sparkle! I broke down and bought one of these stila eye metal shadows. HOLY GLITTER. This was an impulse/retail therapy purchase a few weeks ago and the shade I bought is pixiedust. A lot of you had mentioned them the last few months so I was anxious to try. It definitely has a ton of sparkle, but I love it. You know I love me some glitter. I’ll tap it on the center of my eyelid or use it in the inner corner. It comes with a little bottle of liquid stuff to help it adhere, but most of the time I don’t use that.

I’d really love to get the lavender and pink shades of this buuuuut… I so don’t need them.

Um, see how obsessed I’ve been with pink this month? Even on my eyes. I blame the Naked 3 palette for getting me back into this.

It’s an oldie but goodie, but this maybelline inked in pink color tattoo is awesome. I used it a bunch last year and they last forever – even though they are a cream shadow. I have to say, I like these better than the MAC paint pots. Other than I wish they came in more shades. But they last, they don’t dry out, they are somewhat moisturizing. When I use this, it’s usually all I’ll put on my eyes with lots of mascara.

I also used my MAC satin taupe a lot this month, speaking of oldies but goodies. Sometimes if I don’t use this on my eyelids, I’ll use it as liner underneath my eyes. It’s a cool-toned brown but tends to look very natural.

Nails always tend to be the first place where I start to bring the spring season. I can’t ever wait.

You’ve heard me ramble over the solar oil, but it is seriously KEY for my cuticles. I use it at least five times a day. More on this in a second.

The pop beauty shade is called mint magic and I bought it at ulta last summer. Remember my mint obsession? This was a product of that.

The sprinkle-looking shade is sephora formula x in demolition. Man. Sephora has RUINED me with their polishes. I adore them so much. They have every color under the sun. I need more nail polish like I need a hole in my head yet I want every color. And their glitters! Ugh.

Back to the solar oil for cuticles… it has been my saving grace combined with this elizabeth arden eight hour cream. This is an older product I’ve bought for a few years but it tends to get thrown in my nightstand drawer because the smell is HORRIFIC. Seriously. It’s terrible. And it’s not so much a cream as it is an orange tinted ointment.

BUT.

february beauty favorites I howsweeteats.com

It is working miracles for my hand/nail area. Even though my skin is dry, oddly enough my hands don’t get dry like many of my friends’ do. I do still use a thick hand cream every night (my all-time favorite is aveeno skin relief) and this has been my only option since everything was gone. I will put the solar oil on my cuticles, read for a little bit, then use the eight hour cream on my hands. I fall asleep shortly afterwards so I don’t have to deal with the scent. This makes my cuticles like new every morning. It’s actually kind of crazy. I’m always surprised.

I’ve seen people compare it to vaseline but I find it to do more. I don’t use it on anything other than my hands, but if you look up reviews on this, it’s a crazy love or hate product and many people even use it on their face.

Onto more moisturizing things… coconut oil isn’t new to me but the things I’ve been doing with it this month have been. I don’t always use it all over my body because sometimes I can’t take the oily feeling. It will usually soak in after a few minutes, but I also tend to use too much and then feel like an oil slick. However, these are the things I’ve been doing:

1. I always moisturize after my shower, but with my skin being so nuts I took it up another level. At night I get out of the shower, pat dry, then use about two tablespoons of this all over my body (not my face at this time). No more. It will sink in within about 10 minutes. I then moisturize with the body shop body butter below. Um. Holy crap. No more itchy skin for me!

2. My scalp has been out of control dry. Like the worst it has even been. I’ve been using the coconut oil on patches of my scalp and it makes a HUGE difference.

3. I’ve been using it as a sleepover hair mask twice a week. I always the macadamia oil below when my hair is wet. But twice a week at night, I’ve been putting about two tablespoons of this on my dry hair (not on my scalp or roots), really working it in and piling my hair on top of my head or french braiding it. I sleep in it then wash it out in the morning or even later in the afternoon (depending on what I’m doing the next day.) It’s been awesome.

Another thing I keep mentioning but it’s making such a difference in my skin. These freaking body butters. !!!! The cocoa butter scent has stolen my heart. I want nothing else.

february beauty favorites I howsweeteats.com

Still using the macadamia products. Still adoring them. Like I mentioned above, this is the oil I will put on my wet hair ends when I get out of the shower. This stuff… incredible. Can’t even tell you how many of these I’ve gone through. I need to just suck it up and buy the big one.

february beauty favorites I howsweeteats.com

And lastly, another thing I keep mentioning but that I can’t get enough of. I’m almost through this Nest midnight fleur rollerball and the scent is so delicious. Do I really need to keep talking about it? LOVE.

february beauty favorites I howsweeteats.com

Okay… you know the drill. Tell me what you’re loving! Are you dying over any new Spring things? I haven’t seen anything that I’ve really wanted to pick up yet, which is crazy to me. Nothing I’m overly excited for. Whomp whomp. Share away.
