Tuesday Things.
1. Can these unicorn roses always be a thing? Except maybe more pastel? Or more neon? #highmaintenance
2. I am in the midst of a random but fabulous but terrible affair with malt balls. Not whoppers (gross), but malt balls made with higher quality milk chocolate. Naturally, I’m desperate for this mousse.
3. As I’m getting older, I’m losing ALL desire to watch sports. I mean, yes, I want our local teams to do well, but I don’t want to watch any of it on TV. I’m at a point where I can’t stand to watch it. Like at all. I feel like an old granny. I’m no fun. That being said, I like GOING to sporting events… for the food.
4. To play off of #3, I’m super excited about GARDENING this spring. It’s true. Even though I kill all the plants.
5. How to spring clean your kitchen. Are you doing it? (If so please come do mine.)
6. Um, is a new Full House spinoff happening? Was this an April Fools joke? Is this real life?
7. I think I only have one TV point this week and that is – MAD MEN!!! gah. I am so excited it is back on but so sad it’s the end. I am inappropriately emotional about the ending. I might have watched about eight hours of repeats on the Sunday marathon, starting at midnight (thanks Max) and going until we left to celebrate Easter. What did you guys think of the episode? Did you see this article with Matt Weiner?
8. Remember back in the day when MTV Spring Break was in.credible.?!? My brothers and I waited from January until March to watch that week of ridiculous. Did it even happen this year? Pretty sure it set up extremely unrealistic spring break expectations for me. Also, who thought it was a good idea for there to be four hours of dancing (or, um, grinding) on each morning? Do we talk about this every year? We talk about it every year.
9. In love with this farmer’s market guide. The best!!

Ohhhh I love those roses!!! I love the multicolor….
And I absolutely loved MTV’s spring break. I watched it every day, I wanted to compete on the karaoke lyrics competition, I saw the Jerry Springer craziness on air (the one they always talk about? with the girlfriend cheating with the best friend?) I was so obsessed and could not wait to have that spring break. Now? Personal nightmare. I would never want that. Though I am sad I never got to go and hang out with Pauly Shore…..
gahhh. the farmer’s market guide makes me miss Seattle! Maybe I’ll find a cute NYC one to go to this weekend!
I just came home yesterday after work and cleared out my pantry and fridge on a whim. I feel so much better now!
Have you watched The Blacklist? If you do, you will become so addicted!!!!!!!
i haven’t – but everyone tells me this so i need to start!
A full house spin off — YES PLEASE! Hopefully not an april fools joke, that would be cruel.
And Farmers market guide … totally my language!
Don’t even think about making David Lebovitz’s malted milk ball ice cream. Custard based with malted milk powder and chopped malted milk balls. Chewy almost and oh-so freaking delicious. I’m not in love with malted milk balls and this might be my favorite ice cream. BEWARE!!!!
Um, YES the Full House spin off is real!!!
I loved the first few seasons of Mad Men but the last two seasons haven’t been that good…maybe I’m just sick of the characters. I watched Sunday’s episode and didn’t even remember Rachel so I was confused for most of it!
i agree – i didn’t think they last two seasons were that great, but for some reason now i’m all weepy!
I’ve lived in Florida all my life and I never did the Spring Break thing, but my brother and I loved watching it on MTV. I studied those competitions. I thought I would kill it one day.
p.s. I gave up watching sports a few years ago. It was too intense and grrrr for me and I only cared about the snacks anyway. Now I can admit it and I feel so free!
Malt balls are an addiction round here! Just give me a massive bowl and netflix and I’m set for the night!
Where are those roses from????
my local grocery store – which is giant eagle!
I need someone to come spring clean my kitchen too. And also those roses. Need.
I loooooove malt balls! Where do you buy non-whopper balls? I would love/hate to get my hands (and mouth) on some!
a local chocolate company here has them!! they are SO good. it is some of my favorite chocolate.

they can be ordered online but i think other candy companies might have them too??
Okay, so I have to confess. I get into the malt balls tunnel vision thing that lasts for about 2 weeks straight of me eating Whoppers (yes, Whoppers) out of the little milk carton type package.
It never ever occurred to me that there were better malt balls out there. I have to know…because I’ve never seen them before (or maybe I’ve never looked because I wasn’t in tunnel vision mode) where on earth do you buy high quality malt balls?

You have a child now. Your sports watching career is about to get started.
now THAT i can get excited about!!
LOVE those roses!! So gorgeous. Also, thanks for introducing me to that farmer’s market guide–I find farmer’s markets to be slightly overwhelming so that guide really helps!
ok, so, where did you find those roses?! i need them in my life/house!!!

my theory on watching sports is not an age thing…i think its like an internet/phone thing. here me out….watching sports can be sorta boring…lots of commercials, time outs, down time. which used to be all fine and dandy before tivo and candy crush and all that. now it seems like if you are not multitasking you are wasting time. i feel offended that i have to watch commercials. like UGH what a waste of time. i find i often cant even just sit and watch tv anymore. i have to be looking online or playing on my phone or writing or something. sometimes my BF and i will tivo sports games and watch later so we can skip the commercials and not waste time watching live. its sorta sad if you think about it ! i blame the interwebs. cuz i can.
oh god this is so true. i am this way. WAH.
MAD MEN, yes— not only have I been ridiculously emotional thinking about it ending, I cried at the montage BEFORE the show started on Sunday. All those old scenes and Don’s voice. Cannot. Even. Then I watched it again the next day with my husband who hadn’t seen it yet, and YUP cried again at the pre-show montage. My husband said “isn’t this a commerical??”. harrumph.
My advise for beginning gardening is to start slowly. I used raised beds on only did 3 the first year. It’s much more manageable. I have 7 now with plans for 2 more beds this summer.
thank you for the tip!
bite your tongue on #3 – I’m counting the days until college football starts. Not necessarily wishing away the summer but I can’t wait!
i can do this. i do love college football!
OH MY GOD!
I’m going to start watching Mad Men soon STRICTLY because of Jon Hamm – he was in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (I forget if you posted and said you watched it.. if not … DOOO IT) and he is so hilarious. Also, there’s a meme of him sitting on a chair looking like a complete bum that I laugh at everytime I see and now I just feel it’s necessary to watch it. lol.

Slightly delayed comment but Tillamook ice creamery (I think/hope you can get it everywhere in the country) has a flavor called Malted Moo Shake” and it’s vanilla malt ice cream with huge chocolate chunks. It is amazing. I think with your malted milk balls obsession you will appreciate this :)
