Tuesday Things.
1. I’m kind of sad to see no more twinkling Christmas lights but loving the lack of clutter decor. BUT. Now I want to decorate for Valentines Day. What is wrong with me? Have you SEEN all the adorable hearts out there? I’m still blaming Max for my desire to go all out with holidays.
2. These double chocolate sour cream cupcakes are off the charts. Look at that frosting?!
3. Books you have on tap for this month – or this year? I almost signed up for the goodreads challenge again (in 2014 I planned to read one book and week but failed once cookbook/baby stuff started) and am still debating.
4. Getting a bunch of questions about bullet journals, so you have to check out Kristen’s post + video! Mine looks nowhere near as pretty and is just chicken scratch in a notebook, btw.Â
5. Last week I mentioned we were watching Making a Murderer. Oh..my..gosh. Well, we finished the next night. Which is HUGE, because Eddie never likes to stay up super late on work nights. Not only did we finish but then he was in bed reading articles on his phone until 2am. Have you watched?! It is insane. We’ve scoured the internets for articles and both find this one to describe our feelings the best. Also, these 29 thoughts have me laughing out loud. They are so true. Oh and we also watched Master of None (in one day, oops) and loved it. Aziz = my boyfriend.
6. Annnnnd on Saturday night we watched Jurassic World and then I had a terrifying dream about a killer monster dinosaur shark. Like actually woke up scared out of my mind. Hi, I’m 12 years old.
7. I know that I always say that I need massive MASSIVE help decorating because my interior/design brain is horrific. Like I would probably paint a wall with neon and glitter and think that it looks great. Soooo I’m thinking maybe I should show you some things and you can help me?
8. Something I’m super excited about now: awards season! Fun fun. And I have SNACKS for you. Just wait.
9. Reminders as we begin the new year. Spot on.

Your posts used to show up in their entirety in feedly, but now it’s just the beginning and I have to click through for the whole post. Is that a change on your part or feedly’s?
Same! I don’t want to have to click through to read a post :(
Same here. I usually bail on blogs pretty quickly once I have to start clicking through. I really like your blog though! Any chance of going back to the previous setting?
Add me to the list of people who are not fans of having to click through to blog from feedly. I love being to get the whole post in feedly. I often do go on your actual site to get recipes (or bookmark make-up recommendations…LOVE those) but would prefer to see whole post.
guys! omg, haha. there will still be the full post. i honestly didn’t even realize it cause i haven’t looked at an RSS feeder in months, but i just asked and it was built into my theme when lindsay switched the site since i guess most blogs do it that way. someone mentioned it last week in a comment but in my new year haze i totally forgot to email her about it. it’s switched back now! (and should work with the next post, i think?)
but um, i like that you’ve coming to leave these comments so please keep commenting!Â
I really like these Tuesday things. I have read a few posts about ‘bullet journals’ it looks really good and everyone seems to be talking about ‘Making a Murderer’ – I really need to check this out.Â

I was just coming to say the same thing….I thought only 4 things was quite a short list! Â :)
I do the Goodreads challenge every year. I’ve only reached it twice, but I’m in again for 40 in 2016. (40 seems to be my biggest challenge, so I’m sticking with it.) I am already slightly off pace because I have a mild head cold and NyQuil-ing myself before bed leads to very little reading.
i’m definitely going to do it after the encouragement on this post! i hope you feel better dawn!
I’m so excited about Bullet Journaling now! As a super-planner, it seems right up my alley! And I’ve got to start watching “Making a Murderer” once I’m caught up on “Pretty Little Liars”!
im OBSESSED with bujo. it has to be a pen+paper planners dream.
OK you HAVE TO sign up for a Goodreads challenge. Even if it’s just two books a month!
Also, definitely post some pics of your space – I’ve done so and got great feedback and ideas!
doing it! you convinced me. ;)Â
I loooved Master on None. I’ll admit it didn’t take me a day to watch (maybe 2 or 3) but I’ve already watched the season through twice. No shame :) Happy New Year!
So far I read “The Desire Map” over New Year’s (cliche, yes??). Â I’m getting back into Nancy Martin’s mysteries, and I’m waiting on my library holds to come in for Lisa Scottoline’s “Corrupted” and Janet Evanovich’s “The Scam”. Â I know, I’m not high minded. I’m ok with it!
girl.. right up my alley!Â
Have you seen the new Oh Joy for Target preview? OMG – WANT these neon hearts. http://domino.com/oh-joy-for-target/story-image/568bb5a521eb45970d279e9c. They generally so impractical and now I’m wracking my brain to figure out how I can make them work for Valentine’s.Â
Books: just finished Wildflower by Drew Barrymore, it was just ok; stories were interesting but lacked depth. Picking up Brooklyn today, I can not wait to read it.Â
dying for that. LOVE.
I can’t remember if you’ve ever talked about watching Fargo…but if not, you totally need to watch. I watched season one (available on Hulu) over Christmas break and I’m now watching season two (which is a standalone season.) It’s crazy and disturbing and so good.
i have not! a few people have said the same, so it’s on our list!Â
Uhhh, I thought that #2 said double chocolate sour cream PANCAKES and I was like….WHAT GIMMEGIMME. I might have to make/invent some tonight.
now i’m craving those thankyouverymuch.
I usually set a goodreads target every year (25 books) and try really hard to meet it. 2 books/month seems reasonable, but for me is a good stretch! This year I am doing the Book Riot Read Harder challenge (24 books):Â http://bookriot.com/2015/12/15/2016-book-riot-read-harder-challenge/ Â There is a goodread groups for that challenge too, where people share ideas of books that fit each category!
oh cool! thanks for sharing!Â
My mom is an interior designer so I LOVE seeing befores and afters of people’s homes. I’d love to see some of your ideas for your home!
i’m scared. don’t show your mom.Â
Ah! My friend and I started watching Making a Murderer last night and had to cut ourselves off at 2:00 am.. We’ll probably finish it tonight. Also Master of None is awesome too.Â
let me know your thoughts! it’s… terrible.Â
I just finished Gold Fame Citrus by Claire Watkins, it’s a must read if you like Station Eleven and/or The Handmaid’s Tale. Â So beautiful!!Â
thanks eva!Â
I already miss the twinkle lights. I’m thinking of putting in some cool new lamps to satisfy my wish for twinkle lights year round!

Three things:Â
1. making a murderer might be one of the best shows i’ve seen all year. i was GLUED to the tv!Â
2. you have the BEST dreams ever.Â
3. totally buying a bullet journal, if just for personal, non work-related use b/c of kristen’s posts. also, i want to buy all the pens.Â
pen fanatic, right here. join the club!Â
Yes! Please show us things for interior design and we can help! I can’t make a decision about my own decor to save my life, but I am GREAT at giving advice.Â
And can I just say THANK YOU for pointing me to yoga with Adriene because I am OBSESSED. It is beyond. I love love love her, which is not surprising because I adore you as well. XO
isn’t she the best? LOVE.
Just finished “Better than Before” by Gretchen Rubin and loved it! It’s about habit formation – great read for the start of a new year!
haven’t read that, but have listened to her on podcasts and heard some general info on it. i think it would be great for me to read!
Regarding # 7. Bring it on! Would be great to help you, considering it’s always a one-way relation! Have a great year and keep your “spun” !
P.S. I love that you now actually answer some of the comments.
Oh my gosh…. I could go on about Making a Murderer for hours. I’m actually watching it twice because I got my best friend hooked, so I’m watching it with her now.
I can’t wait to see your snacks for award season!!! I’m hoping to have some up on my site too. And yes yes yes to you showing us pics of interior design! I’m only 22 and for about 5 years have been in charge of decorating the house. My mom hates it and put me in charge!
OMG Making A Murderer is giving me all the feels. I’m trying so hard not to binge watch and just taking it an episode at a time bc I don’t want it to end. Haha. Also, mmmm I am so excited for your upcoming snack recipes.Â
I have a  great TV show for you. It’s called Hart of Dixie and it’s about this fictional small town in Alabama called Bluebell and all the characters who live there. I fell in love with the show. In fact, I want to be transported to Bluebell and live there for the rest of my days.
Oh my goodness, I love decorating! Have you looked into one of the virtual interior decorating services? Like Laurel and Wolf, Havenly or Zoom Interiors?
#1. I feel the same way. I hate that Christmas stuff is packed away and all the fun festive decor is gone, but I am so glad to have my regular house back too.
#5. This show is all I’m hearing about!!!! Gotta watch it.
Ugh… Making a Murderer was THE worst. Left me feeling so many different emotions, which was mostly anger. My heart broke for Brendan the most. To be so young and fragile, to be taken advantage of in the way he was and being locked up for life. Just terrible… I also watch “Master of None” this weekend and LOVED it. So much.
So many things! 1) Love the logo change! Adorable! 2) Those cupcakes, tho! 3) Jurassic World…Chris Pratt…omgeeee 4) The buzzfeed tweets had me laughing into every bite of oatmeal this morning. 5) Did you see this craziness??? (SPOILER alert for Making a Murderer)Â http://www.nbcchicago.com/entertainment/entertainment-news/making-a-murderer-juror-says-avery-not-guilty-364234661.html
Thanks to your post last week I am now deep in the rabbit hole of bullet journaling, but I’m relieved to hear that yours is semi-chicken scratch as well! Some of the bujo bloggers are so creative and make theirs look uber creative and fancy (which I am not, and taking time to make it fancy takes away from actually getting tasks done). Also thanks for the link to Kristin’s blog, which again, is realistic to me.
Oh! and speaking of Goodreads, I’m hoping that Goodreads + BuJo will help me keep my NYE resolution of reading 50 books this year. So you should try that combo if you’re worried about not completing the goals.
if you ever want to chat about decor I’m just an email away! ;) Â I looooooooove making mood boards.
Your links are always spot on…love looking through what you love!
