Tuesday Things.
1. Say hello to the most perfect game day sheet pan nachos.
2. My end of January fantasy every year is that we go skiing even though we don’t ski and by skiing, I mean we go to ski lodge and sit by a fire and drink glasses of alcohol while watching skiers outside.
3. Absolutely obsessed with: how to prioritize when everything is important.
4. Considering a chocolate lovers week before Valentine’s Day. In a purely selfish move of course, because I have 27 chocolate recipe ideas and can’t narrow them down.
5. I’ve only been in Target ONCE the entire year! It’s a miracle.
6. What on earth what The Affair finale, aside from being a horrible waste? It was like 45 minutes of nothing. Bah! I also really still can’t get into Homeland. I have a feeling this definitely has something to do with my major Gilmore Girls obsession. It’s the only thing I put on if I turn on any TV so I feel like I’m basically living inside the show.
7. Related: the Gilmore Guys podcast? Worth it? I’m kind of tempted to start listening to it but holy cow, it’s a commitment. Those episodes are loooong.
8. Best dressed SAG awards? I’m going with the Stranger Things cast. And Yara Shahidi. Her dress was so fun! And I weirdly loved Nicole Kidman’s dress but I think it was just the color that sucked me in.
9. What are you making for the super bowl?! All I want is a huge vat of guac.

Gilmore Guys podcast is SO worth it! The early ones aren’t as good, but they really find their groove and it gets SO GOOD. xo
Huh… ok I only started listening to the Gilmore Guys around October / November last year just before the new GG episodes were released, so I don’t have any history with them but I lasted about a week. The episodes are way too long and kinda interesting but not anywhere NEAR hilarious enough to put in that kind of time commitment. So my vote is Not Worth It.
I loved Kevin and Demi at the beginning when they were newbies, hilarious, just finding their footing, and only talking for 1-1.5 hours, but by season 5 I couldn’t take it anymore. Kevin starts to get a big head about their podcast fame (in my opinion) and I just couldn’t commit to 3+ hour long episodes twice a week. It’s so obvious that Demi is over it too. I gave up for the revival episodes.
Yes to the week of chocolate!!! :) That’s what Valentines Day is for, right?!
The Affair – such a waste and also didn’t it seem out of place? How did they wind up in France? Why did the main Brenden Fraser storyline just completely disappear? Where is Pacey? So disappointing.Â
Yes to Gilmore Guys! The episodes are long but they are hilarious and so entertaining to listen to for walks or while you are cooking. I’ve always loved the show but watching along with the podcast took it up a notch. I’m also a big fan of The Affair but am now skeptical on watching the finale after your review… This whole season hasn’t been my fave.
The Gilmore Guys podcast is SO worth it, but you can skip to Season 2 or even later – it takes them a little while to find their groove. As the episodes get longer it is because they let it go off into more random conversations with their guests. If you want to only listen to a few, listen to any with Aisha Muharrar and/or Sarah Heyward!
Lol! I’ve listened to Gilmore Guys and while they’re funny, it really is a commitment. I only made it through the first season before I got bored.
The Gilmore Guys are funny, but like everyone said the episodes are long. Based on what others suggested I started listening around season 4 and skipped around. I listen in the car and sometimes while I clean. It’s entertaining if you want to hear something silly that doesn’t take itself too seriously. :) A good place to start might be the Gilmore Gabs where they talk to people from the cast!
Yes to Gilmore Guys! Start from the start and give it 4 episodes. Love it!
Your cloth napkin(?)/tea towel(?) in the picture is so lovely! do you remember where you got it from?
i’m not even going to tell you about “making oprah” podcast. Â wha???? Â it’s sooooooo good! Â did you know they just demolished her Harpo Studio! Â gah!!!
I always have the exact same day dreams abit skiing a somewhat you! No skiing, just warm fires and amazing cocktails!
Your comment about skiing totally cracked me up!! Â You are hilarious. Â : )
Yes to chocolate lover’s week! And ummmm…only ONE trip to Target so far?! You’re a better woman than me! Lol

I’m actually listening to the podcast while I type this. I like the podcast. Really long but I put it on when I’m cooking or cleaning.
UHM you better RUN to Target. One time in an entire month? Nooooooooo. They have such cute valentine’s stuff right now, it kiiiiills me.
I love the Gilmore Guys podcast. I bake all day long in my kitchen each weekend for my market stall and these guys are excellent company. I started listening at the beginning of last summer and managed to get up to speed just in time for the revival. If you love Gilmore Girls and are looking for a new podcast then I couldn’t recommend Kevin and Demi enough. I would start towards the end of Season 2 and you can definitely skip the live shows, except the ones with Jason Mantzoukas. I’ve seen Gilmore Girls multiple times and the discussion detail they go into with each episode is exactly how I love to watch TV shows. They are hilarious as well – the best episodes are definitely dependent on the guests. I would recommend listening to the episode on They Shoot Gilmores Don’t They and if you like that one then you’ll know if you want to commit as it’s an excellent example of what the podcast is. Let us know if you go for it!
I started watching Gilmore Girls (first time binge as well) on January 1 and I am halfway through Season 6. (covers eyes.) Love!
I don’t want to ruin your Target streak, but I highly recommend everyone try out products from Kristin Ess’s new hair line. It’s soooo good. I can’t get over the leave in conditioner or the texture spray.
Gilmore Girls = love. Gilmore Guys = LOVE. These fellas make me think about the show in new and different ways (and I’ve learned A LOT about TV/pop culture through their tangents and references). I love the level of scrutiny (and ensuing hilarity) they bring to GG, and they even bring on cast and crew for interviews (Liza Weil! Scott Patterson! Sean Gunn!). Definitely check out an episode that you’re current with (eg. season 4). You won’t regret! xo
Pick one season of Gilmore Girls that you really liked and listen to that one of Gilmore Guys. They are funny but way too long winded that listening to more just got boring. Made it through Season 3 and then had to give up because really though I love podcasts I don’t have any time for 3 plus hours on one episode. Though if you are really looking for hit of pop culture and not just Gilmore than I can’t stop recommending the Popcast with Knox and Jamie. Hilarius, and so entertaining and just so much fun, an hour well spent every week.
All I want during the Super Bowl is chips. There is something about football that just makes me want all of the chips in the world!

Maybe only listen to a few Gilmore Guys episodes. Â Incidentally, I found myself cracking up in the middle of Target by myself listening to an episode. Â If you’re doing mindless work and want to just zone out, I highly recommend.
IMO, the best cohosts are Aisha Muharrar, Sarah Heyward, and Alice Wetterland. Â I would recommend listening to one of those episodes as a “trial run.” Â I know a lot of people like the Jason Manzoukas ep’s but they were a little unnecessarily raunchy for my sensibilities :) Â I listened to a lot of ep’s last year while cleaning and cooking, and I swear, I was so productive!
I have not been in Target yet, since the new year. So proud of myself. But now, I’m thinking about it and its making me want to go.
Just watched The Affair, and, um, WHAT!? There are 10 episodes per season and how did literally nothing happen in this one, and between 9 and 10, Noah’s injury was self-inflicted and nothing happened all season? This season can be summed up by saying: yup, everyone was a bit screwed up after the end of S2 but they’re all fine now. No cliff hanger? We all good. I don’t watch The Affair for all to be good. I watch for dramz. And Pacey. And there was no Pacey. WTH?
If you do start listening to Gilmore Guys, develop a quick trigger finger for the fast forward button – not only do they not make any attempt to stay on topic, they actually TRY (at least Kevin does) to derail the conversation and go totally off topic for like 20 minutes at a time and they never cut any of it – that’s why the episodes are so long. And listen to it on 1.5 speed. I’ve been listening to it from the beginning and I honestly sometimes wish I hadn’t.Â
