Boyne City Travel Diary 2017, Part 1.
Here’s a peek at some of our vacation pics from Boyne City! Indulge me while I use this as a personal journal to dump tons of photos of my favorite place and my baby in my favorite place.
Most of you know that we go to northern Michigan every year, so it’s not anything too new! Last year we made a little video and listed some of our favorite places, and since we do a lot of same things on this vacation that we’ve done my entire life, I figured doing one again would be too repetitive. Lots of sunsets and lake pics, per usual.
Here’s my favorite lovebug in my favorite place, for real. I could take pictures of him looking out at the water allll day. And, um, maybe I did. He adores the water and the boats!
Also why have I never had this drink before? Oh my.
First macaron for the win!
And a new restaurant in Charlevoix that we LOVED, The Cantina. So good we ate there twice.
One of my favorite parts of this trip was that Max napped on my, while soaking wet and wrapped in three towels, multiple times. Twice on the boat and on the beach! I loved it because even though he is a huge cuddler, he doesn’t fall asleep on me anymore. So sweet.
First crepe too! Banana and nutella. I had this exact crepe three years ago when I was pregnant with Max and it was the turning point in my life for liking nutella.
Bumps and hugs.
The best. xoxox

I’m really curious about that “Lemoncocco” drink. I live in Italy, and have never heard of it… Apparently it’s the name (and signature drink) of a kiosk in Rome, but here it has never been canned or sold in stores!
it was really interesting! not too sweet at all. i loved it!

Great pictures and memories that will last a lifetime. I have just one question. Where in the world is Boyne City?
it’s in northern michigan!
Great pics! Would love to read a pregnancy update soon! :)
I highly recommend the Weathervane Inn for dinner the next time you’re in Charlevoix! :)
I am crazy jealous! So gorgeous and picturesque! My friend was just in Traverse City for the cherry festival and couldn’t say enough good things about it! Pretty, pretty, pretty!
This kid…his nose wrinkles…I die!
Stumbled across your page here. My dad is from Kalamazoo MI and he moved to Philadelphia PA in the 70s. So that make me Philly born and bred but we have a family cottage that’s been in Boyne for 80+ years. I’ve been going up for 30 years every summer now. Its gorgeous and such a hidden gem. I hope you love your time on the lake!
GORGEOUS sunsets, gorgeous baby, gorgeous food, and where do I get a print of that ice cream cone painting? I love it! I hope you had a wonderful trip – I’m sure you did. :)
I was just there this week! Isn’t summertime in northern Michigan just the best?! I tell everyone that nothing beats summertime in northern Michigan — you just cannot beat those views!

OMG. Toddler cuddle sleeps. THE BEST. My son is almost 2 and hasn’t fallen asleep in my arms in a looooong time… except once in a blue moon, he will wake in the middle of the night and my usual tricks don’t work, so I get to pick him up and cuddle him to sleep. Watching those eyes roll back and holding him in my arms… there’s just nothing like it. I absolutely adore that photo of Max sleeping in your arms. Perfection.
I’m sorry to be that person who makes a comment about something in one picture without any context.
I noticed it looked like your son was wearing the puddle jumper floatie on a boat. Maybe that isn’t what was happening, but hopefully you had a PFD on him while boating.
I have a child about a year younger than Max. All my family are water people so we bought an infant size PFD for use while boating.
I regret the judgy sounding comment.
After a little research, the puddle jumper is coast guard approved, though it may not be the best style for wearing on a boat that is under way. But for swimming off of a docked boat, its fine.
I was just worried when I saw the photo, because I know tons of people visit your site and might make assumptions about what is or isn’t safe without doing any research. Sort of like I did. ;)
