Tuesday Things.
1. How absolutely stunning are these pumpkin crepes with whipped mascarpone? WANT.
2. I can hardly contain my excitement since This Is Us returns tonight. I’m also petrified of bawling my eyes out the entire time. In the meantime, I’ve felt like feeling some horrific secondhand embarrassment so I’ve been watching the newest season of Fuller House while editing photos.
3. Here’s a look at a week of my favorite dinners with the kitchn. And my cutie Max!
4. I’m so weirdly interested in people’s daily routines and also love Jo Malone, so this is my read this week. Also, if you’d like to indulge me and list your daily routine below (wow don’t I sound like a stalker), I’d be ever so interested!
5. We went apple picking on Saturday and it was 90 degrees and the hottest I’ve ever been in my life. Like I can’t even EXPLAIN how hot!
6. While I’m on the subject of complaining, last week I had to have my first root canal ever after chipping that tooth on a croissant and while it wasn’t horrible (aside from being in a DECLINED position on my back during this last month of pregnancy omg), I wasn’t in any pain before and now I can’t even chew. I’ve been really fun the last few days.
7. Over the last few days there has been SO many beauty products on sale at Nordstrom – my beauty faves will come later this week, but I wanted to mention it in case the sale ends! I like the Nordstrom sales better than the Sephora VIB sale because even though it’s a little less (15% vs 20%), you get Nordstrom notes to spend, whereas Sephora just gives you points that I rarely use.
8. Speaking of, tell me – what are you go-to booties for the season? Even if it’s still 90 degrees where you’re at like it is here. Cue huge eye roll.
9. Can’t believe I’m even asking this when you guys know what a huge pen-and-paper person I am. But what is your favorite digital planner or calendar that gives you reminders? I have major mom/pregnancy brain and keep missing things on my list and it’s making me crazy. I need something that reminds me constantly! Also, p.s. the nourished planner is on sale now too! I love this planner.
10. Because it never gets old. EVER. It’s decorative gourd season.

Love the site redesign Jess!
I am a big fan of anything Google so I use Google Calendar, Keep, and Drive. They keep my life running.
LOVING the new layout of your blog, it’s incredibly eye-catching!
My routine somewhat varies by the day but when it comes down to it, I’m a human of habit.
Wake at 4:50AM on M, W, F and attend a Pure Barre class from 5:30 to 6:30. (T-TH wake at 5:30 to run)
Get home by 6:45 and leave for work by 7:15 after a QUICK shower and feeding the pup. (HELLO stressful timing)
8 – 4 is work work work.
Arrive home 4:45 – 5 and walk the dog.
Prep dinner 5:45-6 then cook and eat until about 6:45-7
I’ve been taking a class recently so I have homework and usually give myself an hour to read and complete assignments.
From 8 on I try to relax, read, watch t.v. do something I want to do and not feel bad if I want to indulge in T.V.
Bed by 10 at the LATEST because I’m an old lady.
I feel crazy for writing my schedule out to you but it actually feels good to know I’m not the only person who’s interested in schedules haha. XO
Love the redesign. You are gorgeous in those photos too! Pregnancy definitely suits you :)
I love Keep, and Wunderlist for electronic reminders.
1st of all……….. you’ve changed…………I like it.
2nd I feel for your, I just had one of my teeth crowned, it’s so like I’m getting old and what’s next dentures?
No more popcorn kernels for me.
YAYAYAYAYAY! Re-design! You can stop holding your breath now, it’s live and everything is working (I hope)! It looks great! Also, we (me and the spouse) use google calendar. We have a shared one for “family” stuff, and I have a separate one for work stuff. I also use evernote for lists. Also my daily routine is crazy boring.
6a-7a: Wake up. I am NOT a morning person, so 6am is always my goal and when my first alarm goes off, but i usually don’t roll out of bed until 7.
7-7:45: Get ready for work. If I was a better person I would wake up on time, and leave for work on time. But I’m not, and I never do.
8-ish-5ish: Work. ugh.
6pm: arrive at home, do dishes from breakfast and lunch, eat snack.
6:30: sit on couch and whine about how i need to do A, B, C, D….. beg for a maid, and watch wheel of fortune
7pm: make dinner/eat
8pm: clean up, pack breakfast/lunches for next day
8:30: sit and complain some more
8:35pm: watch TV or read, work on my master plan to take over the world
9:30pm: wash face, face mask(s), quick clean up of living room, play with cats, complain, eat a cookie
10pm: watch news and complain
11pm: get in bed and scroll through IG, twitter, and watch too many SnapChats
This sounds pretty much exactly like my routine plus add picking up kids, but other than that, it sounds the same.
Especially the complaining… amiright? ;-)
you made me laugh !!!!
“If I was a better person I would wake up on time, and leave for work on time. But I’m not, and I never do.”
this is me.
Honestly, I am the worst kind of person. I am late to everything. It is my worst quality (im sure there is something worse-but i can’t think of anything right now). I wish I was a better person, the girl that is 10 minutes early to everything, volunteers at an orphanage, mows her elderly neighbors lawn and doesn’t yell at the cable company, and has never defaulted on a student loan. I wish I was her.
I’m loving that This Is Us is back tonight! Let’s hope my pregnant self can stay awake for it!
Loving these booties I bought in Antelope. They are all-weather.

The new site looks beautiful!! Love it!! Hahah glad I’m not the only one who’s fascinated with other people’s routines..mine is usually something like this:
5:15: wake up and go to the gym
7:15: get home from gym, get ready for work, make breakfast
8:30-4:30: work
5:00: get home from work, do dishes, schedule social media, start to edit photos, sometimes listen to a podcast
6:00: make dinner, eat, do dishes, pack lunch for work
7:00-9:00: finish editing photos and doing blog stuff, write post, catch up on social media
9:00-9:30: unwind, and go to bed!
Also loved your post with the kitchn!! I still need to make that creamy chicken with buttermilk dumplings.
Omg! This new site design!!!! Love it!!!
I love reading other people’s routines too!
Mon – Wed and Friday:
7:30 wake up without an alarm and usually find my son has joined me in bed. I try to sneak out to shower or squeeze a small workout in before he wakes up
8am: he wakes up and I nurse him for 5-10 min
8:15-9:30 get us dressed, breakfast, lunches packed or prepped depending on if I have a sitter coming or if I am taking him to the sitter. I usually check in with social media and the weather while I drink a cup of coffee.
9:30-10 go to work or go to sitter then work
10-4:30 work work work
4:30-5 pick up son and relieve sitter
5-7pm play with son, try to squeeze in a 20 min workout of some sort while he is distracted with a cartoon, fix dinner, try to get 1-2 things done off my to do list
7-9 or 9:30 pm dinner, focus on my son, lots of playtime and then bed time routine (bath, run around, stories, and nursing) 9:30-10 dishes, quick clean up, check calendar for the following days activities
10- midnight me time (tv, reading, clash of clans, chatting with my son’s father, journaling)
Thurs is different because I have the day off so it’s a leisurely wake up and focus on my son while going on adventures.
love the new look! kapow!
OMG This is Us….I don’t know if I will be able to take the heartbreak that is about to happen. JAAAAACK!!!
Routine: 5a – up 530a – go for a 3 mile run – outside 615-630 – make the punks their lunch. 630 – shower 645-7a – wake up previously mentioned punks 730a – drop them off to school then head to work (I’m lucky that I work one mile from my house and their school – thank you sweet baby Jesus) 740-430a – work 430a – leave work and get aforementioned punks to various activities 7-9p eat dinner somewhere in btw this time frame and try to write for my blog. 930-10p – in bed where I write down 10 things I’m grateful for in my journal, read a little (reading Plan B by Sandy Samberg)….wake up – do it all over again.
Ooo fancy new layout! I like!
OMG LOVE the Kitchn piece, I’m taking notes! Also love the new site.
Favorite booties are TOMS, I was never a bootie person until I tried them, they’re so stinkin comfortable (<- I know i shouldn't use the word stinking when in the same sentence with shoes lol, but after a year they don't smell so that's a plus too lol!)
Love peoples' daily routines, I once read a whole BOOK about them lol, so yeah, love hearing how people do stuff. Mine has changed since having baby Ben, but it generally goes something like this:
Wake up at 5:30, hop in the shower real quick
Feed Ben at 6
Drive to work and if it's a day care day do drop off ( I work a ways away from where I live, so this is a process, but at least I get to listen to audiobooks – I listen to like 1-2 a week!)
8-3 work work work
Drive home
Feed Ben and snuggle
6 figure out something last min for dinner (I'm trying to get better about meal planning)
Then there's more snuggling, feeding, and general hang out/TV time with my hubby and Ben
8 pm is bath & bed time routine for Ben, he loves the bath and we read him stories and all that jazz
I get a little time to work on my bog for a bit
10 pm is bed time
Have a great week girl!
daily routine…
M-F up at 5:05am
-tea, shower, get breakfast ready for me & kiddo, check traffic/weather (see traffic below..it’s imperative to know before you leave house)
– get kiddo up and going for school day (she has her phone alarm. it barely rouses her #tween)
M-F leave house 7:20
– commute is anywhere from 22-45 minutes depending on Portland traffic #TheWorst
-listen to ridiculous morning shows or audiobooks/podcasts. depends on mood
workday is officially 8am-5pm #workworkworkworkwork
-let’s be honest, I’m usually in early-ish and never leave at 5
-I do use late lunch hour to tackle errands/shopping
home 5:45-6pm
-start dinner, laundry, make sure kid is doing homework
6:40pm leave for volleyball practice
-drop kid and then run any existing errands while she’s at practice. (I also have extra girls at my place on VB nights to feed and take along. parents share carpools)
8:30pm- pickup from practice
8:30-10:30 finish evening by getting kid in shower, getting ready for next day with lunches/snacks, TV time, hanging with kid
and usually grabbing a book out of the stack to read- that’s my daily wind down for my brain pre-bedtime
10:30pm -goal bedtime. if I don’t go to sleep now? I will be awake with second wind all night long.
Wednesday nights we have ‘Wednesday dinner’ and have people over most weeks
weekends rotate as kid has visitation with her dad, but also? we have volleyball games, birthday parties, events. there is no ‘weekend routine’ although I do try to do food prep on Sunday to be ready for the weeknights.

http://elitedaily.com/envision/food/unicorn-froot-loops-lisa-frank-proud/2025076/pecial edition
I totally thought of you.
It was 90 degrees here today. I was like WTH! Luckily we are cooling down starting tomorrow but I can’t pumpkin patch in 90F.
My go to booties are these Sam edleman ones:http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/sam-edelman-packer-bootie-women/4708653?origin=topnav&cm_sp=Top%20Navigation-_-Women-_-Booties&top=72&brand=4215 I bought almost the same pair a few years ago with fringe and I wore them to death. Now I have these. Super comfy. I want to get the leopard ones next.
My Day is like this:
6AM – up and pack lunches for the whole fam (and COFFEE!)
7AM – run when my hubs gets back from crossfit
8AM – begin yelling at kids that we have to leave or we will be late. Feed them breakfast
9AM – kids on bus, home to shower
10AM – work, volunteer, or clean depending on the day
3 PM – head home, prep dinner
4PM – kids off bus, drive to swim team, soccer, girl scouts, dance, gymnastics
6:30PM – family dinner

8PM – kids bed, sit on couch with wine, hubs and our dvr
10PM – bed

We absolutely love the Picniic app! You can download the premium version and it allows you to share your calendar with up to 8 people, has a meal planner, shopping lists (this is especially helpful because my husband has access to it too so neither of us can say we forgot the list!), upload recipes to add to meal plans later on, and assign to-do lists aka honey do lists. :) We have loved it so you should definitely check it out!
