Tuesday Things.
1. The prettiest rainbow salad spring rolls. Need them in my life.
2. Honestly, do you think we EVER will feel our age? I still feel so ridiculously young! Why? How? I look at how my mom talks about effortlessly mothering (with confidence!) and feel like I will never feel that way, and I’m two kids in. Crazy?!
3. See also: my mom came with me to Salt Lake City last week and at 6:45am she was IRONING MY DRESS in the hotel room. No idea why I feel like I’m still 17…
4. My new favorite thing: how to start a heartsong journal. I’m in love.
5. I say it every week but how freaking fantastic was Billions! Oh my gosh. Except for the Bobby and Lara thing. Like are they showing us his downfall with this? I’m so confused and feel like they left out chunks of the story that we have to fill in. Have you guys seen all the previews for The Affair? Eeep I can’t wait. And. What the heck was up with that Grey’s episode?
6. I’m always so interested in this: how Kate Hudson gets it done.
7. Right now all I want in life is a peanut butter rice krispie treat. That is all.
8. Oh but wait! What are your plans for the royal wedding? I’ll be in a hotel room in Atlanta. And speaking of, where should we eat in Atlanta? Only have 24 hours!

The heartsong journal is an inspiration! I love it!
Taqueria del sol! Revival! Cakes & Ale! Kimball House! Muchacho!
Yes! Emily, you nailed the suggestions!!
For dinner, Gunshow is FANTASTIC and chef-curated and just so cool. For brunch, Sun in My Belly. For lunch, Upbeet if you’re feeling healthy and it’s in a really cool area to check out (West Midtown). Never been to Le Pain Quotidien but I’ve heard amazing things. Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall is on the Beltline which is a must-do in Atlanta, and they have fun drinks and food! While on the beltline you should also check out Ponce City Market (which would be another great place to get food) or Krog St Market. Also Octane has a lot of locations for coffee and they’re excellent. I’m partial to the Grant Park location which shares a really cool space with the Little Tart Bakery which has been on food network! I have officially given you way too many suggestions to do in 24 hours but check them all out online and see what you want to do best!!
Two Urban Licks is also delicious and anything at Ponce City Market is amazing.
#2 = I’m proud of the fact that people think I still look like I’m in middle school. Young for life :)
#8 = I’ll be wearing a jeweled tiara and I won’t apologize for it.
I definitely second many of the other suggestions, especially Ponce City Market and Gunshow. I’d add Sweet Auburn Barbecue, The Wrecking Bar, and the Den at Beetlecat in Inman Park. New Realm Brewing Company also has a really neat rooftop deck on the Beltline.
We planned my sister’s bachelorette weekend around the royal wedding. A ton of girls in one house waking up at the crack of dawn with a waffle bar and mimosas!
That is awesomely epic!!
Definitely ponce city market for food!!!
Echoing the Gun Show sentiments, but where to eat in Atlanta is super area-specific (and although I love my city, our traffic is hella bad sometimes)!
Since your book signing is near Emory, I’ll go with that side of town! The General Muir for breakfast (Avenue A all day), Leon’s Full Service for pre-dinner drinks, Iberian Pig for a casual-ish dinner or Kimball House for something a little fancier, Butter and Cream for after dinner. Also, coffee/breakfast at Spiller Park- Toco Hills will never let you down.
Eek so excited you’ll be here!
YES to butter & cream. I mean, Jenis is tasty and all but I dream about Butter and Cream’s butterscotch brownie ice cream (and their blondies are ridiculously good).
The General Muir is fantastic!
About Billions…I didn’t feel like the whole party/jacuzzi situation made sense with what we know about Bobby. What did we miss?? What should we know???
As you will not be knowing about these free hearts online games. These games are one of the best mode of entertainment and can also improve your skills by playing these games. These games can be played in your android phone or in your pc too.
I always feel young until I actually hang out with someone in their twenties. Then I’m like, “Oh yeah, I’m for sure not that young anymore.” Especially when they invite you to do something that starts at 9pm. Because, uh, THAT’S THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
+1 to all the suggestions above–especially Gunshow (the chefs all make a specific dish each night and bring it around to the tables so you can pick what you want and everything is INSANE), Ponce City Market or Krog Street Market… I’m actually partial to Krog (dumplings from Gu’s and sandwiches from Fred’s). BUT above all else, I would say Bocca Lupo. I don’t even love Italian food and it is my FAVORITE restaurant in Atlanta. They have an awesome chef’s tasting, and anytime there are articles about which restaurants Atlanta chefs eat at, this is always at the top. I’ll also suggest Fox Bros BBQ or Heirloom Market if you are looking for BBQ. Heirloom is about 20 min outside of the city, but totally worth it.
PLEASE REPORT BACK!
Can we please talk about Billions?!?! I HATE that Bobby and Lara are apart. I don’t feel like they showed us that enough. Like all of a sudden this season they were over? That’s it. Can’t be. I thought at first maybe they were doing it just for finances and it wasn’t real? I don’t like them apart at all! :(
OMG i know i know! i agree. i want to see something happen with him and wendy but i’m guessing that won’t happen. i totally agree though – it’s like they left out a huge chunk about he and lara being apart. all because he told her a lie (that didn’t involve cheating?) – they seemed to be so close and liked they had an amazing relationship and now, boom, divorce! it’s so weird.
i’m guessing they are just using this to show his downfall? like he wins in everything else but they are using this as an example? ugh so weird.
really glad i wrote this long paragraph about TV. omg.
I KNOW. I LOVED them as a couple. They started the whole thing together, from nothing…seemed like they were so solid and nothing could tear them apart and then BOOM divorced. And they didn’t even show us what, when, where, why, how?!?!? He just all of a sudden lives somewhere else and they hate each other. Don’t like it at all. And, I have to say I NEVER saw the part with Wendy, Chuck and Axel working together. That was a good freaking curve ball. Didn’t see it coming. I love this show! :)
Did you see these? https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a20268441/reeses-stuffed-rice-krispies-treats-recipe/
My vote for food is Bantam & Biddy in Midtown. Double Zero is near the book store. Same owners as Iberian Pig. Can’t wait to meet you this weekend!!!
You must eat BBQ in Atlanta and Fox Bros is amazing…. their spicy BBQ sauce is life changing.
