30 Recipes For Kentucky Derby Weekend!
We love watching the kentucky derby every May! Sharing tons of my favorite recipes for kentucky derby weekend below, so break out the hats and pimento cheese and have a little get together!
I’m so excited to share a bunch of my favorite Kentucky Derby recipes in anticipation of the race next weekend!
We love watching The Kentucky Derby and if you’ve been reading forever, then you know Eddie is a huge fan. It might just be his favorite day of the entire year.
I love that we can make a few fun snacks at home and enjoy them for the entire minute or so when the race happens. Ha! No, but really, it’s a fun little micro-holiday (as I like to call them) that we get weirdly excited for and enjoy.
And! If you have a copy of The Pretty Dish, then you know that I have a full derby day menu in there! Super fun with lots of snacks. I have lots of recipes here on the blog too, so I wanted to share in case you’re partaking in the celebration next Saturday, May 6.

What a beautiful selection! Where to start? I guess with the pimento cheese and go from there. Thank you!
We live in Kentucky, and Derby weekend is pretty fun! I’ll include a few of these recipes in our celebration- thanks for the round up
Btw, love all of your cookbooks!
I saw last week the horse racing pictures on Eddie’s desk and wondered what that was about? Family business?
Friday’s are my favorite because I get sent your email with the week’s posts. I really do enjoy them all with Tuesday Things and A Week In The Life my fav’s.
Thanks for all you do!!
Oh! Wow!! This cake was sooooo good! It made me want to comment for the first time on a food blog, Thanks for sharing this amazing information. This is very same as I was looking for I am facing this problem few days ago but same amazing thing is showing at this page deskpicker which help and guided me.If I bake it again, I’m going to try and spread the batter to the edge of the pan as the centre puffed up and the icing slid down to the edges. I ended up using about 6 tbsp of gin in the icing so that it would be spreadable. The 2-3 tsp called for wasn’t enough, for some odd reason, it was the consistency of fondant as followed. I might have also poked too many holes (used the blunt end of a chopstick) and there wasn’t enough glaze to go into the divots.
