Bye Bye, Twenty Ten.
I must admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of 2010. At least, that’s what I thought a few hours ago. Then I started thinking about how blessed I am to have my family, my health, my family’s health, and overall goodness all around me.
So I changed my tune.
But I am still burning these bayberry candles. Have you heard? “A bayberry candle burned tip to socket brings food to the larder and gold to the pocket.”
I’m welcoming 2011 with open arms!

Happy new years to you two! Can’t wait for your new recipes.
Happy New Year to you and your husband! I like the way you are reflecting on this past year… and imagine, 2011 can only get better:-)
Happy new year, beautiful!
I was the same way, i’m in the middle of a sepration with my husband so it’s hard for me to look on the positive things, but I have my two healthy kids (and after loosing one to “SIDS” that is that really is the only thing that matters to me) and I will get through anything with them.. 2011 may be a rough year, but hopefully a better ending.
Happy New Year to you, and I just want to say I love your blog. I’ve been following it religiously for the past few months and love it. I’ve tried many of your recipes (not so good for my waist line!). You are so funny and down to earth.. Keep it up!!
Love this – 2010 was tough.. very challenging, but I believe if I learned from it, then I came out better!

Happy new year! I wasn’t a big fan of 2010 either, hoping you have a wonderful year ahead of you!
I hear ya. I have been thinking about it and yeah, it wasn’t the worst year, but it wasn’t the best either. We can do better next year, right?! I feel so fortunate to have “met” people like you Jessica. Really, sometimes we feel alone in the strangeness that is our reality, but since I have “met” so many great people this past year, I have really enjoyed sharing thoughts, life lessons, happiness, sadness, oh, and food! I am wishing you all the success, love and happiness in the new year sweetie!
your little bit about the candle…lol
do they teach you candle trivia at work?

Happy New Years!
Happy, safe, & prosperous 2011 to you, Jessica! I too had a big bump in the road when my house was burglarized. However, like you, I’m thankful that the good outweighed the bad this year. I never heard of the bayberry candle. It made me smile though because that was the name of the street I grew up on!
You have made the most amazing food porn in 2010.
Thank you.
Happy Happy New Year!! Hoping all the best for you in 2011! :-)

Happy New Year Mr. and Mrs. How Sweet! 2010 seemed to have its ups and downs for everyone, but then I think of people who have lost or suffered so much more and my difficulties don’t seem so bad.

Happy New Year girl…I sincerely hope that 2011 rocks your socks off!! Here’s to a new year with new challenges, new opportunities, new lessons and new-found faith! XO!
The trials and tribulations of 2010 can only lead to beautiful days in 2011. Happy New Year my love. See you SOON!!!
Happy New Year!! I’m so excited to see what you come up with in 2011 :) And I’m sure I’ll be baking a whole lot of it!
My grandma always did the bayberry candle, I usually do it. But skipped it this year since the last two years I did it weren’t the best for me.
Isn’t it crazy how just doing a little “review” of the year can cheer you up? You know how they say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? It’s kind of like that – you can look at 2010 with a pessimistic eye and see nothing but bad things or look at it with an optimistic, grateful eye and see the beauty. You strike me as a super positive person! (I’m a drama queen so my “eye” depends on my mood lol)
happy new years, jessica!
