On Stilts.

My mom got me these for Christmas.

Even though I may look like a 5-foot streetwalker on stilts while wearing them, I’m in love. My mom always gives the best gifts; since I’ve been young, I’ve constantly been amazed at how she gets me things that I didn’t see or know about yet, but absolutely adore. I hope I can do that some day with my kids!

I haven’t worn them yet, but will most likely wear them with jeans. I’m not brave enough to do anything else. This will be interesting considering I lived in sweat pants the last 3 months. But it’s so fun to have an exciting pair of shoes secretly hidden under your (too tight) jeans!

At least that’s what I tell myself.

Cute! I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to wear those sans jeans either! They are rather tall…but maybe with some brightly-colored tights and a skirt it would be manageable.

I agree… those are h-o-t shoes! You could totally pair them with a simple little black dress for a nice dinner or a wedding.

I love my Mom to death, but she usually buys me book or sweaters [off the lists I make for her].

Chocolate-Covered Canadian Bacon with Cinnamon and Cayenne Pepper
    • 4 slices of extra-thick Canadian Bacon
    • 2 cups of melted chocolate (made with semi-sweet chocolate morsels)
    • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
    • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
    • powdered sugar

    1. In a double-boiler, melt chocolate morsels. If you do not have a double broiler, simply boil water in a medium-sized pot, then place the chocolate morsels into a smaller sauce pan and place it in the larger pan to melt.
    2. Stir in cinnamon and cayenne pepper.
    3. Place Canadian bacon in a rack and broil for about three minutes on each side.
    4. Remove Bacon from broiler and pat with a paper towel to remove the oil.
    5. With a spoon, coat both sides of the Canadian Bacon with chocolate mixture.
    6. Place in a lightly buttered pan, and add to broiler for about a minute.
    7. Remove, sprinkle with powdered sugar, slice and enjoy!

    THIS IS ALL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Love ya

I say wear them with a black minidress, seriously. I have a pair of shoes similar to that (5.5 inches) and I’ve found that I feel ridiculous wearing them in anything BUT borderline skank clothing. Rock ‘em with confidence!

For over 18 months I was unable to wear anything but birkenstocks and then ugg boots because of toe surgeries, and just last week I got back into some of my sky high heels. It’s kind of an amazing feeling, even though I still totter around a bit like a baby giraffe in them ;)
