Tuesday Things.
1. I know I told you last week that I don’t love oatmeal, but that was a bit of a lie. I do like oatmeal – Quaker flavored instant oatmeal that is. It was my staple breakfast for probably over 10 years as a kid, my favorites being peaches and cream and strawberries and cream. So, so good. I even used to eat it DRY. Yes, like straight out of the package. I love normal food.
2. Another totally underrated snack is tortilla chips with cheese melted on them in the microwave. And no, I don’t mean tortillas cut into triangles and baked in your oven… though I can make do with those in a pinch. Crispy, out-of-the-bag tortilla chips. Grate your cheese, pile it on top, zap for 30 seconds, eat. Welcome to my teenage world of food.
3. A few weeks ago in yoga one of the instructors was playing Lucia Micarelli, to which I had to stop mid-downward facing dog (this should tell you *just* how calm my mind really gets) and find out exactly what music was playing right that very instant. I’ve since downloaded every piece by her and it’s all I’ve been listening to. I don’t even know what this classifies me as anymore.
4. At the risk of sounding trendy, I’m gonna be straight up and tell you that I really love this chocolate coconut water.
Up until this point the only thing coconut water has been good for is my gag reflex – I’ve thought it was disgusting. But this stuff tastes pretty good, sort of like a thin chocolate milk with a hint of coconut flavor. And no, I’m not going to tell you that it tastes like chocolate milk because that would be like telling you that kale chips taste like potato chips. Uhhhhh no.
4. Bella graduates from puppy school tomorrow.
Hopefully between then and now she will learn where she can and can’t sit.
5. We are looking to take a mini vacation for our anniversary, which has to be hugely husband-approved since he hasn’t been on vacation this year. I am really, really bad at geography (but not as bad as I am at math), but we want to stay mainly on the East coast… but it doesn’t have to be on the coast. Does that make sense? That was a lot of “but’s.” How about you just tell me where an awesome place would be to visit?
6. I really want to buy these boots, but only if a pair of legs are included. I think that’s more than fair considering the price.

I heart this post. I’m dying thinking about you eating dry oats out of the bag. I’m pretty sure I could make a real bowl of oats that you would gobble right up. ;) But those bags WERE delicious! – Why did I ever buy pre-grated cheese? – coconut water, have never seen the chocolate, but straight up it makes me gag…however I LOVE mixing the O.N.E. guava flavor 1/2 + 1/2 with water…eliminates the gag – Our doggies just graduated too. They’re going onto level 2 next week! They need it! – okay, bye! <3
Bella gets cuter every day! If you want to stay east coast I absolutely adore Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. GREAT food, beautiful scenery and Savannah was made for walking hand-in-hand….
I just bought a bottle of the chocolate zico to try – I was thinking about making it into a drink, but I think we will try it straight first. I love the regular and mango zico – esp. after a workout. You should go to Asheville, NC if you are going soon. It’s beautiful in the fall and has some great shopping, too.
Tortilla chips with a huge pile of grated cheese… my life… my non teenage – single girl life! So easy. So tasty. Love it!
You should go to Ashville Nc ,Charleston Sc , or Savannah Ga . 3 best and most bauetiful places!
Savannah, GA. Cannot recommend it more, beautiful buildings and squares. Take a horse and carriage ride and then go to the TWO amazing candy shops, I had a sprinkles cone with sprinkles ice cream which was bigger than my head. Really nice New Orleans style restaurant down on the water front too. Am trying to persuade the family to go back, I live in London, UK!
go to Savannah GA!!
Stop…really, you must stop! My wife needs no encouragement with the boots thing. I do appreciate all of your posts because they turn into this wonderful food experiment in our kitchen too. Thanks for your fun writing style and great food ideas!
http://www.cabotcovecottages.com/ – this place is in maine and it’s been bookmarked on my dash for so long. i’m dying to go, it looks beautiful and peaceful! the perfect place for a couple. whether you go there or not, have a fabulous time :)
Bella is one of the cutest things I’ve seen in a long time!
I know I’m super-late to this post, but I had to comment. We must be twins separated at birth, because I definitely used to eat dry oatmeal (usually maple and brown sugar), and I eat tortilla chips with Mexican cheese melted on top at least once a week.
I think you should come to Boston. I’ll have you over for dinner.
Also, I really need to know the name of that foodie store you visit when you go home, I am too lazy to look through old posts, and I forgot to bookmark it. Happy Saturday, hope you are lounging in sweatpants and eating cupcakes just like I am!
Microwave nachos were a staple at my house growing up (and in college too!). I also am a sucker for some apples and cinnamon instant oatmeal. I’m not that into the healthy stuff but I just love those sugary packets with dehydrated apple bits! yummmmy!
Knowing that I can drink the chocolate coconut water after I am done, is sometimes my only motivation for working out. I. Am. A. Freak. :)
