Fluffernutter Chip Ice Cream.
Ice cream partay!
So.
I’ve turned into a TOTAL ice cream person.
I know. Weird. Because that insinuates that I wasn’t an ice cream person before.
Guess what? I WASN’T.
Excuse the shouting.
It’s kind of strange, but ice cream has never been my weakness. I think it has something to do with not loving foods at extreme temperature, but the only ice cream I really ever used to get excited about is chocolate peanut butter from Kilwin’s in Michigan. That is freaking outrageous.
However.
I don’t know if it was the purchase of an ice cream maker last year or something else weird going on, you know, like maybe turning thirty or whatever, or just wanting to eat all things including heavy cream, but now? Ice cream person. All the way.
Don’t get me wrong. I still don’t go wild for plain chocolate or plain vanilla or plain, well… anything, unless it’s covered in sprinkles from the local DQ. (<—–sidenote: OMG)Â My preferred versions of ice cream are majorly trashed up. Which should come as no surprise. duh.
This ice cream is peanut butter flavored with tonsssss of marshmallow cream folded in.
Oh and some creamy peanut butter too, which kind of firms up in the freezer and tastes like peanut butter fudge.
Oh AND some white chocolate chips, because I also need a touch of texture in my ice cream.
In other news, I’m seriously dying to make homemade waffle cones, but I attempted that last summer and I guess you need a waffle cone maker or something. You know what that is? Annoying. I worked at an ice cream shop for about five minutes when I was 16 years old and burned my fingertips forever making waffle cones. Totally worth it though.
Okay that is all. Carry on.
Fluffernutter Chip Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff or cream
- 2/3 cups white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Add cream, milk, sugar, salt and 1 cup peanut butter to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves and the peanut butter melts, making sure not to let it stick to the bottom. Continue to heat until the mixture becomes warm and begins to bubble around the edges. Remove from heat, add in vanilla extract and add the mixture to a bowl and refrigerate until cold, at least 30 to 60 minutes.
- Once it’s cold, add the mixture to your ice cream maker and churn according to directions. A few minutes before it’s finishing churning, add in 1 cup of marshmallow fluff in a few increments. Once it’s finished churning, scoop the ice cream into a freezer-safe container. Stir in the remaining peanut butter, marshmallow and the chocolate chips, then freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours. Let sit for a few minutes before serving so the ice cream can soften.

Funny, I’ve never had a strong weakness for ice cream either. Although I have had a basil ice cream that was to.die.for. and also had a thin mint dark chocolate ice cream at a fancy gelato place the other day that I could have kept eating forever.
I need to make more with my ice cream maker!!!
So I just started following you on instagram and this was the first picture that you’ve posted since I added you… i meannn, no words. Guess what? I am an ice cream person so this is not doing me any favors. wow.

Oh my gosh, I saw Ashley mention Jeni’s and a piece of my soul died. Whyyy is there only one? Must move to Nashville.
This looks soo good. And I’m not just saying that since I had to give up dairy for 10 days. Oh how I miss ice cream.
Thius look really amazing and delicious I love it!
So after I saw you post this on twitter, I added the ingredients to my shopping list and made it tonight! I followed your recipe exactly how you wrote it, except, i added peanut butter chips instead of white chocolate chips. Verdict- It’s freaking delicious!!! Its so light and fluffy (like mousse) even my Husband loves it (and he doesn’t like marshmallows- whattttttt?!?!) Thanks for contributing to my ice cream addiction! :)
i’m so glad!!
I so desperately want an ice cream maker attachment for my kitchen aid. it seems like the options would be crazy endless! This looks amazing!
My oldest son literally inhales ice cream but this has peanut butter the only flavor he shuns so I may be able to manage a taste for myself (personally I love peanut butter ice cream). We love our ice cream maker my husband makes a wicked good Atkins friendly version using Splenda. However, the addition of the fluff and white chocolate chips I may have to have him make this recipe just for me, I so love the sound of this combination.

OMG, this must be in my life! And Kilwin’s Chocolate Penut Butter is amazing. Yeah, and I totally get the texture in ice cream thing. Is it weird that. Like my ice cream o crunch?
This looks amazingly good! Are the ingredients suited for a table top ice cream maker? I have a cuisinart and have never made anything in it. This looks like a great one to start with!!
Reason number 46286 why I need to get myself an ice cream machine..!
Also it’s not exactly a waffle cone but Maria has an easy and delicious alternative ready over here http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/cinnamon-sugar-tortilla-ice-cream-bowls/
Okay, you have finally convinced me I need to invest in an ice cream maker! I drool over all of your ice cream recipes, but this one has pushed me to do it!! What kind of ice cream maker do you have? I have a KitchenAid and I know they have an ice cream attachment. Would that work, or is it better to get a separate ice cream maker?? This is new territory for me, but I have to make this!!!!
As always, THANK YOU for being fabulous and posting wonderful recipes!
Oh. My. Ice cream porn on a Saturday morn………been itching to buy an ice cream maker since my ancient one was recently retired. Do you have one you just love or would suggest? Thanks for this gorgeous recipe!
I think I’ve always been an ice cream person but having one of these new-fangled machines that make it SO easy to make has done me in. I was able to re-create Butter Brickle, my all-time favorite from childhood that no one makes and then of course there are the boozy ones. No chocolate for you? Try some with bourbon and you might sing a different tune!
My daughter LOVES peanut butter and could eat marshmallow creme with a spoon…not hard to figure what I’ll surprise her with next huh? Thanks!
Totally awesome amazing combination. Must have soon!!!
THANK YOU for being a textured ice cream person! I need crunch in mine, and I mean real crunch, not soggy cookies that soften overtime as they age in the ice cream (A+ description right there…not).
OMG!!! Why did I JUST read this?!?! I had my ice cream freezer bucket in the freezer for like a week…then yesterday I made ice cream!!! Gahhhhh I want THIS flavor now!! Hate when that happens!!
O.M.G. YUM! And I love that this is Philadelphia style and you don’t have to worry about tempering the eggs.
I have ALWAYS loved ice cream, in every flavor, with every topping, in bowls, in cups, in cones! This version looks so good! Oh and I haven’t tried it yet, but recently I saw a recipe to make homemade ice cream cones using a panini press.
You just gave peanut butter ice cream a whole new meaning! This looks amazing and cannot wait to put this in the ice cream maker!
One word: Genius!!
Oh my goodness, this looks and sounds DELICIOUS!

I need this in my life asap. Regardless of your spur of the moment icecream maker purchase, it has proved to be totally worth it if this is what is coming out of it!
So fantastic! Came home to THIS after my birthday dinner and everyone LOVED IT! Love your recipes Jessica!
You had me at marshmallow.
Please continue with your ice cream obsession so that I can continue to benefit from it. The trashier the better. This looks awesome!
