VIBSALE

Since so many of you asked, these are the things I am craving from the annual Sephora VIB sale. PUHlease tell me below what is on your list.

**NEW-TO-ME-THINGS**

sephora formula x nail polish. it’s been super hard waiting to try this product out, but i haven’t wanted to spend a dime until the sale. i’m going to get a shade or two and the base and topcoat.

nars mesopotamia eye paint. these paints were on my autumn wish list and i did pick up snake eyes. gorrrr-geous. i’m on the quest to find a burgundy/reddish/brown eyeliner for my green eyes. any suggestions?

glam glow face mask. this isn’t technically “new” since i’ve used a sample, but as a face mask junkie, i’ve been dying to grab this. now that it’s on sale, i feel somewhat justified.

hourglass lip gloss in deep ruby red. i’ve talked about the shade “fortune” before, and what i love most of all is the texture. so awesome.

sugar fresh lip balm. i’ve only had a little sample of one of these but people go nutso over them. right? is it worth it?

urban decay vice 2 palette. a need? no way. a want. yes yes. it’s been 12 long months of me regretting that i didn’t purchase the vice 1 palette, and i don’t want to do the same.

josie maran powder foundation.  a few of you have recommended to this me all year so i might give it a go!

**REPURCHASES**

dior creme de rose lip balm. other than burt’s bees, the ONLY lip balm i wear at night. i go through about 2.5 of these every year, so i may pick up more than one.

nars eyeshadow base. i tried tried tried so hard to go back to my first love, the urban decay shadow primer. no. just no. i haven’t found anything like this base. the too faced shadow insurance is close… but not the same.

viktor & rolf flowerbomb. i will probably just grab another rollerball of this or a small bottle, since it’s just my alternate fragrance.

clarisonic replacement brush head. i’m in desperate need of a replacement head for my clarisonic. i don’t replace them every three months like suggested, but at least twice a year.

josie maran whipped argan oil body butter. i love this product so, so, so much.

urban decay setting spray. don’t leave the house without it. don’t know why, but it sold me. nothing moves on my face!

anastasia brow gel. months ago i got one of these at ulta on sale and have never tried anything like it. my wedding pictures are what convinced me to use a good brow gel because my brows are ALL OVER THE PLACE in the photos. this locks them in place all day. definitely much better than the clear mascara from maybelline.

**PRODUCTS I HAVE AND ADORE AND WOULD RECOMMEND TO YOu**

lorac pro palette. this never fails to have almost every shade i want. so flattering.

urban decay 24/7 liners. do these even need any explanation? they’ve been in every favorites post of mine all year.

the beauty blender. i used this every time i apply my makeup. there is no other sponge that competes. trust me.

burberry touch or viktor & rolf spicebomb for your guy. eddie has worn burberry touch since before i met him, and i love it so much that i can’t stop smelling his neck when he has it on. for his birthday, i bought him an alternate cologne (beside i’m insane and appreciate a good switch of my own), the spicebomb. it will never replace touch, but we both love it. it’s what coerced me to try flowerbomb.

tarte 12- hour amazonian clay blushes. same as the urban decay liners, i live for these blushes. so gorgeous.

dr. jart BB cream. as a disclaimer, I really should only recommend this if you are not used to/do not care for wearing foundations.

**INSANE HOLIDAY PRODUCTS I THINK ARE FUN BUT COULD NEVER JUSTIFY**

urban decay the mother lode shadow vault. is this even serious?

urban decay 24/7 pencil vault. i’d probably actually use this, but i already have so many of the shades that i think it would be such a waste.

marc jacobs lovemarc lipstick collection. i already have way to many lipsticks (such a thing?), but based on how much i love the other marc products i’ve tried, this would be awesome.

[as a note, none of this is sponsored and there is no use of affiliate links. also,  i will not be purchasing ALL of these things, it is simply a wish list of stuff i am choosing between.]

I just used my Ulta 20% off coupon last week and bought ALL OF THE THINGS. But just wait until you remember how nice it is to replace your Clarisonic brush. I shudder to think of what I was sanding into my face the last 6 months.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE flowerbomb!! A friend introduced me to it a couple years ago and it is my new{ish} favorite. And side note on it, I do spin and it gets reactivated I guess and smells phenomenal there. No other perfume has done that for me.

I’ve heard people rave about the beautyblender but I just haven’t been able to bring myself to buy one. I might have to reconsider this choice.

I can’t wait to see what you do purchase and your reviews of them!!

Yes, definitely get the Fresh Sugar lip balm. I have, like, 5 of them scattered about my apartment and in various purses so I’m never without it! I NEED the Vice 2 palette, that will definitely be purchased. And FYI, Sensual Amber from Bath & Body works is pretty much a dupe for Flower Bomb. And much cheaper. ;)

Does this sale happen in Canada too?? I am a vib… how exciting!!

Yes for sure on the fresh sugar lip balms.. a plain and a coloured/tinted.. They are amazing and basically all I use. I also love a Korres (I think?) lip butter, but Fresh is better!!

I bought a Sephora X colour without any top or base coat.. I just grabbed a colour I liked, I didn’t realize it was a special formula! Do I need special base or top coat for it???
I literally try to get in and out of Sephora so fast so I don’t buy the store…

Omg! I love your list! Mine has: more clarisonic heads, more Marc Jacobs lipstick (I have 2 and LOVE them), Philosophy lotion that smells like anything baked (I have a ton of this stuff and can’t get enough), more Josie Maran whipped body butter (gahhh so good!)…and there was other stuff too that I can’t think of off the top of my head! Can’t wait!
Oh that Mud mask is AH-mazing! Just be sure to keep it closed real tight (keep the plastic insert in there) and use it while you can because mine dried up when I didn’t use it for a month or so (I’d already been using it for a few months so I definitely got some good use out of it).

Formula X polishes- YES. God, I want those things so so bad. I’m so afraid that I’ll try one and then never want to try another formula again.

Also, Lorac Pro Palette- just got it myself and totally agree. EVERY shade is perfect and I LOVE that there are so many matte options too.

I’d totally recommend the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (think that’s what it’s called). Such awesome powders. I actually look forward to doing my makeup every morning because I love wearing them.

Yaaay! I’ve been counting down the days for this sale.

-Fresh Sugar: put me in the minority but I only use mine when I need SPF and I don’t love it. The actual applicator is too big. You need a mirror to apply unless you want clown mouth.

    Here’s my list:
-Beautyblender. I bought a knockoff on Amazon but I have faith this thing will hit all my buttons, or something.
-Stila convertible color, because it’s time.
    -Benefit brow gel

I also have a Kate Somerville exfoliating treatment and Perricone eye cream in my loves, but that will be a game time decision. And to think, last year I only bought SKII masks!

You *need* the Sugar Fresh lip balm. I honestly recommend the advanced therapy one if you want something to wear overnight; my lips don’t even LOOK the same as they did 3 months ago. I just finished off my tube and already ordered another one. The colored ones are perfect for daytime wear; so sheer and buildable. I think the gift set of all the colored mini’s is perfect! However, I get a *lot* of bleeding with them if I don’t put on at least a little lipliner….

Skip the Fresh Sugar Lip Balm. It is not that amazing and it breaks. I’d grab the SEPHORA COLLECTION Super Nourishing Lip Balm or the Yu Be one, if you want to upgrade a bit from chapstick, If you’re committed splurging, I would go for the Bliss one or the kit they have (not that you can’t create that scrub yourself with some coconut oil, honey and brown sugar, but so convenient). The Fresh one has never been worth it to me (and I have tried a few times).

Skinstore has 20% off all the time and it works on Clarisonic heads. Just saying…

The Sugar lip balms are glorified tinted chapsticks. They are NOT worth $22.50. I did buy a gift set of 4 or 5 different sample sizes and the scrub, but I will never purchase a full size for that obscene amount of money.

The Boscia Black Luminizing mask. I’m not a mask fan, but this has turned me. My skin looks so bright and feels so great after using it.

Also loving the Living Proof style extender. I’ve got naturally curly hair and this stuff works so well when I want to wear my hair straight. Keeps the frizz down, keeps my hair straight for days, and it smells so good!

And I may be the only naysayer on the Fresh lip balm. Got a sample of them last year and I didn’t like them. Too greasy for me.

    Happy shopping!

This isn’t technically Sephora, but you mentioned Josie Maran’s body butter. On Monday, the 11th, she’s going to have an awesome kit as the today’s special value. I got it early as an insider, but it’s all her body stuff. The scent is heavenly! It has her body butter, body scrub, oil and hand lotion…all full size. Plus you get a travel size in the butter, scrub and lotion. It’s amazing and smells delicious!

I loaded up on some wonderful Christmas gifts (for myself too!) and this list was perfect timing.

As for the Fresh Sugar Lip Balms, I know a LOT of people love them but I just think they’re kind of okay and not worth it. In fact, I’d rather use plain old petroleum jelly because I think the balms leave my lips feeling dryer after they’ve worn away. I say if you have one that you already love (which is sounds like you do) spend your money on that and try something else.

VIB sale makes me happy, but my wallet a little sad.

I am pro Fresh Sugar lip balms! They are expensive, but i like to wear them when i don’t have a face full of make up!

This year I am picking up the Tarte blush on your recommendation!!

My cart also currently contains a pro angled blush brush, Claudalie foaming face wash (love), beauty blender, NARS tinted moisturized (i want to try it and have it for the holidays, but only want to pay sale price) and the Josie Maran body butter, It is killer, love that stuff, as well as the Sephora knock off of the Claudalie lip balm. (just to try it out) I am good on makeup for a while, i am trying to use what I have right now and try to make a dent in my stash,

Last year I picked up a 4 pack of Clairsonic brush heads during the VIB sale but i only replace every 4 months. I also recently picked up the pro contour brush. I am having a lot of fun with that brush and my bronzer has never looked better.

I always recommend the beauty blender and Fresh sugar lip balm! There’s no other lip balm like it, my lips are always silk smooth when I use it. My Clarisonic is my favorite beauty gadget – do you strictly change out your head every 2-3 months? I don’t use mine daily. I can usually stretch it. VIB sales are always dangerous for my bank account! :)

Oh my gosh, I spent the last two days agonizing over the Sephora site, looking primarily at the gift sets because many of them are such great values. For the most part I’m honestly fine with my drugstore products, but there were a couple of things that I knew I wanted to look at. I ended up making two major splurges, and skipping on some of the smaller stuff. The Divine Oil gift set, which is the same price as a regular bottle of Divine oil (which really and truly smells divine. It’s better than perfume and super great for your skin and hair) and it comes with two other products; also, the Origins gift set with the eye cream I keep hearing about and have really wanted to try (which is full size), and then some not quite full sized products that I’m interested to try as well. I had he beauty blender in my cart and I am really interested in trying it even though a lot of people say you can get a similar result with a brush (I love my Real Techniques face brush), but a lot of people in the comments seemed to have trouble with cleaning it and parts of it falling off and I just thought that sounded like a hastle. Have you had any problems with it? I have one more day to use my code, and I’m trying to decide if I want to go back for another thing or two! I really wanted to try the Glamglow face mask, and I had it in my cart, but I absolutely could not justify spending that much money on such a small amount of mask. Not in my budget and it wasn’t going to last. I hate falling in love with products I can’t afford.

    -Jen

P.S. I actually look forward to changing my Clarisonic brush head, so it’s funny to me that you do it like twice a year. I mean, it saves you quite a bit of money. I use mine just about every day though, and to take off my makeup, so my brushes get pretty gross, so by the end of that three months I’m like hasta la vista, old brush head.

I got my fave Stila tinted moisturizer, my go to mascara – buxom lash, the tarte cheek stain in loving (which I am… wait for it… loving!), as well as a beauty blender and a fresh sugar lip balm AND a pretty pink gloss! Obsessed with the smell of the fresh stuff, its like a lemon sugar crepe!!

I just purchased the Josie Maran powder foundation. I like it but I certainly don’t love it after a few wears. I don’t know if it’s worth $34 yet but I’m hoping to fall in love like many others have.

Does anyone have any suggestions for mascara? I have fairly thin, short eyelashes so I will need volume and length. I haven’t found anything that I’m super excited about yet.
