Strawberry-Kiwi Smoothie.
Finally! Check out my RECIPE INDEX. :)
Over a week ago, my husband brought home 3 lbs of kiwi’s.
Needless to say, my kiwi craving has diminished.
The day he brought them home, I was craving a sweet, milkshake-like smoothie. This was before we were pummeled with 24 inches of snow and lived like barbarians with no heat.
Now, I have panic attacks just looking at this smoothie. I don’t need any more ice in my life.
However, it certainly was delicious.
Once we break out of our igloo and my fingers and toes are no longer tingling, it will be the first thing I whip up.
Not only is this smoothie fat-free, it also contains a decent amount of protein. Adding a scoop of protein powder would bump it up even more.
Strawberry-Kiwi Smoothie
1/2 cup skim or almond milk
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup chopped strawberries
2 kiwi’s, chopped
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add all ingredients to blended and puree until smooth. Garnish with additional strawberries and kiwi.
Until the sun shines, I will be living in my Uggs, which could also pass as Uggsicles.
What is your favorite smoothie? I am a sucker for any shake with a frozen banana.
Have a great day, friends!
Peace out from my igloo.

Stay warm! I love blueberry, banana and peanut butter smoothies :)
Me and bananas…oh we go way back. :)
Currently I’m obsessed with the following:
– 1 cup of milk (loving vanilla almond milk right now)
– 1 banana (frozen- adds to the chill)
– 1 tbsp of peanut butter
– 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (I use the only one I have ever been able to enjoy as sometimes PP can ruin my smoothies)
grab some ice and blend away!
2nd obsession:
– 1 cup of almond milk
– 1/2 cup greek yogurt
– handful of frozen mango
– 1 banana frozen
ice and blend! Creamy and delish :)
yummmmmmmmm I love the special touch of the strawberry and kiwi on the glass- drinking that would make me feel like I was on an island vaca!
did you get heat back yet? Pittsburgh was miserable this weekend!
what a pretty, pink smoothie!
I love strawberry kiwi smoothies too but I think my favorite would have to be Strawberry, banana, and mango smoothie
or raspberry, blueberry, strawberry smoothie with vanilla protein powder
That looks so pretty! Love the kiwi garnish. I have some strawberries that are on their way out, I should make one of these today. Yummy :)

I love smoothies and this one looks great! My favorite flavor combinations are strawberry banana and strawberry kiwi! I never thought of adding greek yogurt to smoothies (duh) but I bet that would be a great addition as a thickner!!
What a great looking smoothie! I HAVE to had a frozen banana in my smoothies!
recent favorite smoothie:
1 c. vanilla silk
1 c. frozen peaches

so summer-y ! love it!! i LOVE chocolate PB naner smoothies!
This looks so yummy! I actually have all the ingredients on hand…might have to have this tonight!
Mmmmm…strawberries are my favorite fruit and I love, love, love kiwi! I’ll definitely be making this when the weather gets warmer…and I don’t have to pay $528 for two pieces of fruit.
That looks like a great smoothie! My favorites always involve a banana, nut butter, and some cocoa powder. Anything else that goes in depends on my mood.
I love the granishes you put on you smoothie glass! Excellent touch!
Yum, that smoothie looks so creamy and delicious! All I need is the invention of vegan Greek yogurt and I’ll be all set. :)
THANK YOU for posting a recipe index!! I just found your blog recently and I MUST try so many of your recipes! The index will make it a whole lot easier to find them when the time comes.
And I’m having serious smoothie envy.
Yum! I do love a good smoothie.
I’m so over this cold. I’m a Texan. I should only be cold 3 days a year.
I love all smoothies – except sour ones. That looks great!
What a lovely lookin smoothie. I especially like how you amped the flavor by adding vanilla extract and orange zest.
Even if it’s winter I could still go for one of these right now.
sounds like the perfect post workout treat! well any treat for that matter! now I just need to get myself some kiwis…
Wow what a great looking smoothie – I would never have thought of adding kiwis…I normally stick with banana/yoghurt/honey smoothies…
i so wish i liked kiwi more…this looks fantastic!
Mmm I love all things citrus in smoothies…and anything that sounds tropical. Kiwi, mango, orange…yum, yum.
Also – that’s one HECK of a recipe page. Dang girl…I don’t think I will ever need to consult a cookbook again!
YUM.. this looks great.. sip it and pretend you are in the tropics..lol. I am really boring.. I like just strawberry, banana, some milk, and peanut butter!
I love the addition of orange zest! Definitely a winner.
It’s amazing how a smootie can brighten your day. Nothing is better than driving around, top down, sunglasses on, singing to your favorite “gurlie” song, siping on a smoothie … Ahhh… summer, hurry up and get here!
i love kiwi!!! that sounds like the perfect smoothie
Oh how I love love LOVE smoothies. They make getting fruits (and veggies w/ spinach) so much more efficient to fit in!! Not that I have any trouble normally :)
Oh yum! Shakes/smoothies are so yummy but make me so darn cold!! I love pumpkin protein shakes or any chocolate version!
wow, that looks really delish! when i’m not freezing in this winter storm mess (more snow coming tomorrow!), like you, i am going to make this. :) i love throwing protein powder into my smoothies, but the only kind i have right now is mint chocolate flavored haha. i’m not sure that would go well with this!
Yum! I’ve been making smoothies a lot lately, too. My favorite is plain banana, but I also enjoy strawberries and blueberries throw in the mix every now and then.
Your recipe index will most likely be my new home page. I love kiwi in smoothies (especially with the skin!). It’s so sweet and tart… yummmmm

I like smoothies with alcohol :) No power yet?
I need to try that almond milk. It makes this smoothy sound delicious!
Looks good to me!
That smoothie looks so good! I love smoothies with acai berries in them. Oh and chia pudding is good, I need to perfect it because I just kept on pouring in sugar and agave and chocolate until it was really good. I feel like there’s a better way..even though that worked haha. You’ll like it after the initial weirdness.
There are some yummy-sounding smoothies on this page!
I make them vegan for me (even though I’m not, I’m just cutting back on animal-derived food), pour mine and then add yogourt and egg whites for my daughter.
My basic one is rice milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, mango, almond powder and pomegranate juice (the naturopath has me convinced it’s got more vitamin C than OJ!)
I make a big pitcher of smoothie twice a week and leave it in the fridge to get extra fruit in both of us.
Yum, smoothies! I love love love a good smoothie. Favorite would be:
-coconut water, banana, peanut butter, blueberries
Hey Hon! This is one awesome looking smoothie. It definitely reminded me of spring and summer. Im so ready for the warm weather! Thanks for an awesome recipe!
Mmmmm…I love a good banana/peanut butter smoothie. Lol, I guess that’s more of a milkshake though :-)
We’re all snowed in here, too! And they say that more is on the way!!!
oh girl that’s my kinda smoothie! sweet, delish, awesome!
if you could pick a fave smoothie, what would it be? i am doing a live food demo and cooking presentation for yoga peers this weekend…some are vegans some are 60 yr old meat and potatoes peeps. I want something to “impress” all walks of life…that’s easy that i can make in front on them to sample. I value your opinion! Do you have a link of any past smoothies you’ve made that you love?
Looks delicious! But I agree….I am too cold to crave a smoothie right now. I am living in my Uggs too!
Beautiful smoothie!!
My favorites: I would go with my Frozen Coffee Granita or Frozen Peppermint Hot Cocoa. Both can have protein added in. They can be made virtually calorie free or more decadent, just depends on how they fit in with my day.
I have been drinking them with the chilly weather and it takes sooooo long to get warm afterwards! Thank goodness for Uggs!
Fresh smoothies are the best! Mmmm! It’s beautiful, Jess!!
Oh my! Delicious!
Wow, that smoothie looks delicious and the photos are gorgeous! :-D
Oooh strawberry kiwi sounds delicious! This looks like a milkshake!
I’m a sucker for green monsters. I really think they are the most delicious thing in the world! I also love the Mango Mantra (or Mango A-go-go? Can’t remember the name it’s been a loooong time since i’ve had one) from Jamba Juice!
