Roasted Garlic White Bean Hummus.
Over the past few weeks I have developed a new obsession.
I know that I’m late to the party, but boy, oh boy am I in love with hummus.
It is a nice obsession to have, especially since I can make it at home. Another nice point? Mr. How Sweet doesn’t like it.
Well, he thinks he doesn’t like it.
After I single-handedly took down a bag of Stacy’s pita chips, Â Mr. How Sweet rescued a tiny crumb from the bottom on the bag for dipping. He only got a tiny taste, but I secretly think he loved it.
Â
In my excitement of trying different hummus flavors, I came to the realization that I really just love it plain.
But I love roasted garlic. I knew it had a place in my heart hummus.
Â
So, I bought some Sabra hummus in the roasted garlic flavor. It was tasty, but I wasn’t a fan of the chunks of garlic. They were actually a bit hard as well.
I don’t like chunks unless they come in the form of chocolate, peanut butter or bacon.
And even though my thighs are full of chunks, I love them too. But that is all. No garlic chunks for me.
Â
Luckily, I had a few heads of roasted garlic in the fridge. I tend to roast a few on the weekends because they make such delicious additions to meals.
Â
I also used cannellini beans because I love their smooth, creamy texture.
I threw them in the food processor and squeezed the roasted garlic cloves on top. If I could marry my food processor, I would.
Though, that might hurt.
Â
Roasted Garlic White Bean Hummus
1 can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 head roasted garlic
1 tablespoon tahini
1/4 cup olive oil
salt & pepper to taste
Add beans and tahini to food processor. Squeeze roasted garlic cloves in. Turn on food processor and stream in olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Â
Â
What is your favorite hummus flavor? And what flavors should I try? Remember – I don’t like chunks.
I also don’t like dipping vegetables in my hummus, which is probably why I stayed away so long. Hummus is often served with veggies. Gag.
Â
If you have a non-chunky, non-vegetable hummus, serve it up!

great pics btw!
I’ve never made it before, but my favorite is roasted red pepper hummus – a little kick to it, and no chunks:) I have a can of chickpeas to use, so maybe I should put them to good use:) Oh, and my fave thing to dip into hummus is either beer bread or pretzels.
I love hummus too.. especially with LOTS of lemon!!!
thanks so much for checking out my site and posting a comment!:)

Hehehe, chunks!! You are too funny girl :-) I always get a kick out of your posts!
ADORE this recipe – you had me at roasted garlic. and hummus :) i might get you the bacon shirt…it might be perfect :)
I love hummus…eat it every day. I use a few tbs of hummus and loads of salsa as flavor on most of my meals. Nice job with the cannellini beans, mine usually has chickpeas. Need to try these beans instead. Glad to hear you love it!!
We made this and divided it in 2. The second half we added 2 tsp. harissa, and it was delightful! Thanks for sharing!
I bet hummus with chunks of bacon is very nice ;)
I NEED a food processor sooooo badddd!
I agree with you on the veggie + hummus combo…I’m just not in love with it as much as I am with hummus + crackers. It is pretty tastey used as a dressing/topping for salads though!
we take store bought hummus and add in goat cheese crumbles and chopped red peppers. i cut pita into pieces, spray with olive oil baking spray, garlic powder and sea salt, bake for about 10 mins at 350’……we are addicted! thanks for the recipe…..i cant wait to try!!
hello SWEET EATS, you’d want to add agave rather than oil, add some powdered sugar for extreme decadence, add cinnamon & sugar type of thing, maybe some choco nibs but u dont like chunks, or cocoa powder. Dessert Hummus is born :)
That looks so yummy. I love hummus. Thanks for the great recipe.
I like that you use white beans instead of the traditional chickpea. Looks delicious and easy!
Great recipe! I love beans and hummus and chips! Because of you I bought 2 bags of Food Should Taste Good chips last night LOL. Now I have to make hummus. :)

You and your distaste for veggies is so funny! You’ve been depriving yourself of hummus all because the veggies were blocking your view. ;)
Would you believe I have not eaten hummus? Well. I think I did once. I am not sure. BUt I really think I need to try it! :)
Your looks beautiful!
Blessings-
Amanda
You should try Crazy Camel hummus: http://site.desserthummus.com/
All the flavors are awesome, but I’m particularly fond of the Peanut Butter one.
And I know what you meana bout food processors–most gratifying kitchen appliance ever :)
I had this cucumber dill hummus at The Wild Cow in Nashville, TN. It may have been the best hummus I ever had.
Generally though I love me some plain, red pepper, and jalapeno cilantro from Trader Joe’s.
I think roasted red pepper is the best…and so easy to make at home! Just leave the food processor on a bit longer to get rid of the chunks. :)
Enjoying a chicken salad wrap made with greek yogurt and roasted red pepper hummus as I type this – delish and smooth!
Roasted red pepper hummus is my favorite or any type of fresh homemade. I love it on sandwiches and wraps or with egg whites in a whole wheat tortilla. It’s like a mediterranean breakfast taco.
i LOVE HUMMUS! but im boring! i just like sabras original!
I haven’t made hummus in a while. I LOVE garlic, but I’m not a HUGE fan of hummus. I mean, it’s really good but I don’t crave it every day. Yours looks delish, though!!! :-D
In the Middle East (where I live) they serve toasted pine nuts over the hummus. I know you don’t like chunks, but these are wow! They are crunchy and delicious…and like a surprise in every bite!

I added black olives to my Great Northern beans today along with a bit of garlic (prefer less to more of that). I didn’t even add oil nor lemon! It is
addictive. It goes with SO many foods. ;^ ) Sort of a minimalist twist to tapenade and hummus. Yummus

oh. my. dear. this is too incredible & delicious for real words. wow. just, wow.
Sometimes I need a good excuse to roast garlic so I can remember why I love it so much. The texture of this stuff is great too! This might be my new favorite hummus recipe. I added red pepper flake, lemon juice and parsley to mine though
